The odds were already against 17 year old Lamia. Growing up in the projects of New Orleans with a drug addicted father and an unconcerned mother forced her to mature beyond her youth. Determined not to accept her surroundings, Mia stepped up to take responsibility for her siblings, her parents and her parents' mistakes. The only solace in her life was the unconditional loving relationship she shared with her Godfather Von. Mia adored Von more than life itself and she couldn't see herself losing his trust. That is until her new love interest crept into her heart and into her bed. As lies, deceit, and jealousy are creepin' into Mia's life, will her secret affair shatter the relationship that she cherished so much or will she continue creepin'.
HEADACHE MAJOR HEADACHE is what I currently have after reading this book. I think the age thing is throwing me... I am an adult and reading about these kids is giving me a serious headache. It's my fault because I always assume that yes they will start out as teens but the book will progress to adults....NOPE at this not this one.
Now I will say it was interesting enough for me to want to move on to book 2.. I mean the ending was like UM say what now?... so I have to find out what happened.
Tre- Not really sure how I feel about this dude, I mean being honest he is acting his age.. 21 I mean I can't really say that he is all that responsible but he is doing what anyone his age would do... now
Mia- Yes she is 17 (turns 18) and besides the childish fighting she acts a little older I give her that much.. but it seems like she is expecting.. well I guess back then you thought you would be in love with the one person forever.. soooo she is acting her age as well.
Hell I guess they are all acting their ages but HOT DOG if it isn't annoying at times. I find myself saying GIRL if you don't stop this hot mess right now..but then 17-21 is the normal act a pure fool age.
Wait... what just happened at the end lol. First I'm thinking ok tank got his stuff together and then he do that to mia.. I can't deal lol. London and her mom is trifling. I don't wanna say nothing to give it away but just know chenell has giving us another 5 star series.
NEVERRRRRRRRR.............NEVERRRRRRRRRRRRR.... DISAPPOINTS!!! I loved this story. I have loved every book I have read by Chelly.... what can I say. I was totally routing for Tre and Mimi.. I loved that Von stepped up in every since of the word god parent. Rainey I knew she was TAB.... trifling ass *itch... London and Cheryl... TAT..... thirsty ass thots....this 5*****squared., read is all that and a bag of bbq chips. I think Moonie will wish she had taken the time later on....I felt for Terri, but hopefully Tre will get it together. I personally dont think Von would have tripped that much, but I also understood Mimi point of view. Chelly you have put both feet and yourelbows in all of your work, this is no exception!! keep up the good work and I can't wait for part 2. If you like family fun and love, drama mixed with a good vaseline fight... love misunderstood and that all thing done in the dark surely come to the light kind of read... then you will loved Creepin.
I swear this book take you on a ride. I loved Lamia and how she held her ground. I don't know what to say about Paige but the heffa is crazy. Tre I just thought he was going to do right thing when it comes Lamia but know I'm not so sure. That ending was something else because I swear I didn't see that coming. I was ready to throw my kindle. Can't wait for part 2.
Good drama as Mia proved she can hold her own against anyone she goes against...Paige is pathetic as is Cheryl. Tre can't seem to get his creepin under control, but I think he will very soon...Appealing characters & situations in this first book as these characters begin to take creepin to another level
OMG. I started this book this morning and now I feel like I should be made at somebody. Paige is so messy and her nieces got what they deserve, hope Paige gets it too. Mia may be young but she is far from dumb. I like the way so handles things with Tre. As for Tre....Selfish. I just can't believe he went left with the enemy...that was a Jaw Dropper. Part 2 has to be EPIC!!!
I love it I think it's time for them to tell von and I hope tre ain't sleeping with London bc that's gone be the end of him and Miami but I think mia and tre are a cute couple
I had to support this book for so many reasons! #1 hello, chenell Parker wrote it and #2 this book taking place in New Orleans! Can't wait til part two comes out!
Creepin, A New Orleans Love Story takes readers deep into the realities of project living, where Chenell Parker weaves a raw and emotional tale of young love, family struggles, and survival. And if there’s one thing Parker delivers, it’s plenty of Creepin’.
At the heart of it all is seventeen-year-old Lamia, aka Mia, and her twenty-one-year-old godbrother, Trevon Jr., aka Tre. Their love is complicated—Mia insists on keeping their relationship a secret to avoid disapproval from her godfather, Von. He’s been the only real parental figure in her life, and after everything she’s endured with her own parents, she doesn’t want to lose that bond. Meanwhile, Tre doesn’t want to hide because he refuses to relive the rejection he felt from his mother. Their emotional push and pull adds another layer to this gripping, drama-filled story, making Creepin’ a must-read.
But like any great story, the drama doesn’t stop there. Parker introduces a full roster of characters, each adding to the chaos: • Von – Tre’s father, Mia and Rainey’s godfather, and Lamar’s best friend. • Moonie aka Mya – Mia’s mother, who had her first child at fifteen. She keeps a clean house, a stocked fridge, and dresses her kids well, but spends most of her time in the streets, leaving Mia to raise her younger siblings. • Lamar – Mia’s father, a functioning drug addict. Thanks to Von, he has a place to stay, clean clothes, and food—one of the many reasons Mia holds onto Von’s presence in her life. • Nina – Lamar’s girlfriend. • Terri – Tre’s mother, who prioritized the streets over motherhood. When Von was released from an eight-year prison sentence, she handed Tre over to him and never looked back—until Tre turned twenty-one, and suddenly, she wanted forgiveness and a relationship. • Brandis – Mia’s best friend, who also grew up in the projects with a single mother. • Rainey – Mia and Tre’s godsister. After Rainey’s father, Reynard, died, Von stepped up to help her mother, Nicole, raise her. She resents Mia for reasons unknown and has a crush on Tre. • Duke – Mia and Tre’s godbrother. When Rainey realizes she can’t have Tre, she turns her attention to Duke, but he only has eyes for Brandis. • Tanya – Duke’s mother, Mia’s godmother, and one of Von’s love interests. • Cheryl – Another one of Von’s love interests and the mother of London—Rainey’s friend, who also wants Tre. • Paige – Another one of Tre’s girls. • Dalvin – One of Moonie’s love interests and possibly Paige’s son’s father—along with his brother or cousin, who she also slept with. • Mitch – The father of two of Moonie’s children. • Marco – Jabari’s ex-best friend who slept with Moonie. • Melissa – Mitch’s placeholder until Moonie is ready to settle down. • Jabari – Mia’s brother, and his girlfriend, Tiara. • Anika, Anthony Jr., Tootie, Desmond – Mia’s younger siblings. • Ro aka Roland – Tre’s best friend, who also plays a role in the drama. • RJ – Jabari’s friend. • Rickey – RJ’s friend, an acquaintance of Jabari, and a guy Mia dated when she and Tre broke up. • Carmen – Rickey’s girlfriend. • Shania and Sariah – Paige’s twin nieces. • Shane aka Shad – Paige’s brother and the twins’ father. • Damon – Paige’s son. • Shelia – Brandis’ mother. • Jarrad – Ro’s friend. • Tae – Tre’s cousin.
With love, betrayal, jealousy, and survival all intertwined, Creepin’ delivers the messy, emotional, and addictive drama that makes Chenell Parker’s books impossible to put down. Whether it’s family dysfunction, forbidden love, or the secrets everyone is trying to keep, Creepin’ pulls readers into a world where loyalty is tested, hearts are broken, and everyone has something to hide.
If you’ve ever lived in or heard about project living—welcome home.
rleans love story that follows the main character Mia as she grows up in the projects with her mom and siblings. We get to follow Mia on her journey with her parents who are both in her life but both dealing with their own issues and this leaves me to be the responsible one. She has to grow up much faster than she should in order to take care of her brothers and sisters. Once Mia gets a love interest her journey becomes more of her own as she begins to deal with what comes with trying to being in love while having a secret affair. Will the secret become too much for her to carry, will jealousy begin to surround her because of the situation, or will Mia get caught Creepin?! If you are looking for a fast paced book that’s short this is your go to! The only thing I wish it had more New Orleans places we could recognize which you do see if you happen to keep reading the other two books. We enjoyed this read and it made for a good discussion on if Mia was right or wrong to have such high exceptions of her secret affair. If you read it… what’s your thoughts?
Vin is a great dad and Godfather, but he lives his women. Tre is trifling, but he doesn't want Mia to do her. Mia is loyal and smart, but she keep on forgiving Tre time after time, until ish really hit the fan. So many other characters were messy and needed to be taught a few lessons. But that ending though. It was the straw that broke the camel's back. Looking forward to reading the next book.
Omggggggggg I really had high hopes that Tre was going to do better. It may not be what it seems, but the way it looks, it's not good either. Mia definitely is not about to tell Von nothing now. Poor Mia, when she got the courage, then this happens. I can't stand London. I do agree with Lamar, and I feel like they need to keep an eye out for Ro because I don't think he was all talk because he was really embarrassed
What’s done in the the dark will eventually come to the light. Wow. I know Tank wants to just disappear. Just when things where about to get out in the open. EVERYTHING is really put out there.
I sometimes get confused with the many characters that are in the stories, but Chanel does a great job at keeping all of their stories interesting and relevant.
Tre is a Dog who doesn't accept responsibility for his actions. Mia can do better. Something is up with all of them. I really like Von! He loves his family so much! I can see drama ahead for this family!
London messed up. Tre don't want her. Be careful what you ask for because you just might get it. Mia is going to beat the brakes off of London. London's mother Cheryl isn't any better. She is teaching her daughter to accept anything from a man. Good job
If this ain't the pot calling the kettle. Mia you can't have it your way if you playing hide and seek. Tank hun I see you can't stop while you're ahead. This youngsters and Moonie skressing me out. Goodness!!
Mia is annoying me. She want what she want without wanting to deal with the reality of the situation. Stop wanting him to act like he's in a relationship when you dont want it to be known as one. Tre needs to put his foot down.
If your looking for a quick dramatic crazy roller coaster read this will be the book. It's your typical street literature, but it has its place in reading.
This author never disappoints. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next installment. I know It’s definitely going to be great.
