He’s got every reason to be cocky . . . until a female cuts him down to size.

I’m Dallas Easton, the best goaltender in the league. I make a damn good living playing hockey, and with women falling at my feet wherever I go, why not enjoy it? I get whatever I want, whenever I want—that is, until I come across the one player who gets the best of me on the ice.

When I try to pummel the dude, all hell breaks loose. Imagine my surprise when the helmet comes off to reveal a woman underneath. And not just any woman, but the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen. Callie Davis is the complete opposite of the puck bunnies I usually go for, a good girl with sick moves and a selfless streak a mile wide. I need to make amends, but she dodges me at every turn. It doesn’t help that Callie’s brother hates my guts, or that my agent thinks she’s bad for my career.

But I could care less what they think. I can’t let our little run-in on the ice be the end of our story. Because when I set my sights on something, I won’t rest until I score.

When I read the blurb for Blocked I needed to get my hands on it right away. I love a good story about a playboy getting turned upside down by a woman and this sounded like a really interesting one. Dallas Easton is used to girls falling over themselves to get to him, so he's not sure what to do with someone like Callie Davis, his teammates sister who wants nothing to do with him. But he does know that he'll do just about anything for her to give him a chance to show her that he's not the bad guy everyone perceives him to be.

Dallas instantly grabbed onto my heart and wouldn't let go. He had this imagine of being an uncaring manwhore but when he was with Callie we got to see a completely different side to him. One that I really liked and found swoon worthy. I thought he and Callie made a pretty cute couple too so it made me fall even harder for this book.

I read this without reading the previous one in the series, Hard Stick and I didn't have any problems so I would say it's completely safe to read as a standalone. Though there are some secondary characters that I'm dying to get a chance to read about.

Another great read from L.P Dover

This is the second book in the series and with little snippets from the lives of the other players and Dallas's sister, I am definitely looking forward to more in this series.

Blocked features Dallas who is a player on and off the ice and has a reputation with the ladies. Then there's Callie the sister of one of the players, Callie is a nurse and first meets Dallas when her brothers rope her in to a practice on the ice and Dallas thinks she's a guy and loses his temper with her until he see's the person who keeps getting the puck past him is a girl.

Callie has grown up with brothers and has seen all of them go through girls and recognizes a player when she see's one. Dallas is instantly drawn to Callie and tries everything to get her to talk to him but she's a tough nut to crack.

Blocked is an enjoyable story, everything I love in a contemporary romance and you don't have to be a fan of ice-hockey to read this series as each book has been focused on the main characters and the issues at hand.

I loved the characters Callie was sweet and likable their were a few hot moments and I thought the book was balanced out great with no dips as you can sometimes get in some books, I was happily turning the pages. I have enjoyed every book I have read from L.P Dover.

I will definitely read more in this series and look forward to it.

Told in dual pov's, no heavy drama and leads to a hea. Can be read as a standalone.

An imperfect romance, two very different people and one HEA that you won’t want to miss.

Dallas Easton is delighted with his fame and what it gets him…ladies and attention.

Callie Davis is a giver. She cares deeply for those around her and does what she can for those she loves.

When Callie gets the best of Dallas on the ice he comes at her with a vengeance not recognizing she is a woman under the hockey equipment. When he realizes it a hot and sexy siren on skates under all that padding he is set on making amends…which Callie is not too keen on letting him off the hook.

Fun, flirting and sometimes aggravating, Blocked is the kind of romance you sit back and watch the sparks fly.

Blocked was a fun sports romance. I loved that I didn't have to think too hard while I read this book. It was sexy and light and just what I needed.

Dallas is the goalkeeper for the Charlotte Strikers. I know absolutely nothing about hockey but I love just about any sports romance hero and Dallas was no exception. The storyline is not unique here. Dallas is the ultimate playboy with no desire to commit to any one woman until he meets Callie. Of course Callie is one of his teammates sister, so she knows better than to get involved with Dallas given his track record with women.

I loved seeing Dallas trying to prove himself to Callie and to show her that she was different. He had to work overtime to prove himself worthy to her brother as well. There is nothing better than seeing a cocky playboy humble himself to show his love for that special girl. Again, not a unique story but IT WORKS!

This book was a solid 4 stars till the end where there is the cheesiest, most cliche scene. I just couldn't get over it and dropped the rating by 1/2 a star. Some people may actually love it and thinks it's really sweet.

Overall a good sports romance. A nice quick read to escape real life.

♥♥ 3.5 Hockey Stars ♥♥

I liked this one. I did. I just felt like maybe there wasn't really much tension? Maybe the chemistry between Callie and Dallas wasn't hot enough for my liking? I'm not exactly sure, except that it left me wanting more from this book.

Callie is a nurse living with her brothers in North Carolina; one of the three is a new recruit for the NHL team, and they're all really close. One thing that kind of bothered me was that her brothers were really overprotective of her; this alone didn't turn me off, but I felt like they took it a little too far.

Anyway, growing up as the younger sister of a bunch of hockey fanatics in Minnesota, Callie became pretty good at the sport herself and learned to stick up for herself when needed. So when Dallas Easton acts like a jerk during practice, she shows him up. He thinks she's a dude (what with hockey paraphernalia on and whatnot) and is about to start a fight with her when he realizes she's a woman. Obviously, that cools him down a bit, and his interest in her starts. She's rightfully wary of him, but he goes to great lengths to prove that what he wants with her is more than a one night stand.

I think one of the things that bothered me was how hard Callie made Dallas work for her.  Please don't get me wrong. I am a huge feminist so no way do I believe that women should just roll over when a guy wants in, but he seemed genuine with her, and for me, that's enough to give him a chance. But it seemed like she strung him along a little bit too long, and when things got tough she was a little too willing to believe the worst.

So this one wasn't stellar for me, but the writing was well-done, the storyline was fun, and the characters were likable.

This is the second book in the series and it definitely had more hockey in it than the first book did; and that made me very happy.

Dallas really had to work hard to get in Callie’s good graces after he realized after their altercation on the ice that the player he was up against was a she. Her brother set Dallas up to take him down a notch or two. The two teammates don’t like each other, at all.

Callie grew up with brother’s, so she knows the player status that comes with the professional hockey player. She wanted nothing to do with Dallas. Callie tried to avoid his attempts to woo her. He persisted!

Will Dallas be able to get Callie to give him a chance to prove he’s someone to take a chance on? You will have to read the book to find out. This is a fun, sexy and at times laugh out loud funny sports romance. I savored every page! I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series!

OK! SO I've read a lot of Leslie's book and series since I met her on Goodreads, but this is by far they best. It has such an amazing story and the characters were fabulous. Yes, they all had moments I wanted to throat punch them, but let us be honest if you hate a character's actions, or cringe at certain points, then the author is doing something right, because no one is perfect, especially fictional characters.
This isn't a perfect love story, it has its twists and turns and ups and downs, but what romance is good without the proper trial and tribulation, or "challenge".
Basically, if you are looking for a great romance that will draw you in and make you a part of its world, something that will wow you all the way to the last page. THIS IS THE BOOK! I can't recommend it enough and can't wait until you read it and love it too!

Dallas is the regular hockey bad boy. The Charlotte Striker's goalie is arrogant, hot tempered, and he assumes he's God's gift to women. With encouragement from his agent, Dallas signs up to be on a reality show like The Bachelor. How can his life get any better?

Dallas thinks women should fall at his feet, however he got his ass kicked at a party because he was hooking up with someone else's girlfriend. Full disclosure- He didn't know she had a boyfriend. He assumed she was a puck bunny. Callie's a nurse, so she jumped in and saved the day. She didn't realize the man she's saving is her soulmate. Dallas thinks she's his angel.

Callie is new to Charlotte. Her brother is a newbie on the championship Charlotte Strikers. Her brothers are overprotective, but Callie can hold her own. She knocks Dallas down a few notches when she kicks his ass in a hockey game. Callie handles Dallas' ego like cake. She gives him a few "tasks" before she agrees to a date. Did I mention the tasks are humiliating? Oh yes, his team have serious blackmail material. STOP! Read the rest of my review now!

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an ARC of this book! Below is purely my own opinion about this book.

DNF at 55%

Sigh. I forgot that I also did not like book 1 in this series. I can only say that I was reeled in by the cute blurb and the hot guy on the front.

While the book starts off in dramatic fashion which was pretty engaging and captured my interest, I thought that the succeeding chapters had too many unbelievable, slapstick-comedy (think Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler) scenes. For me, instead of endearing either MC to me, I found these scenes doing the opposite as I thought that Callie and Dallas were both behaving immaturely. But still I kept on reading. It was only when I got to the part where that I stopped reading.

What??? I couldn't believe that such a test was the defining factor for Callie to say that she'd want to be Dallas's gf/date/whatever. Do people really behave this way?? Seriously? Because if so, then that's just pathetic. Sorry.

I will say this: I loved the hockey game "action" scenes. I thought those were well-written. Other than those, I didn't really like what I was reading.

I was really excited to start Blocked by L.P. Dover as this author has a history of delivering hot romance regardless of the type of romance. I really liked her A Circle of Justice series and am now diving into her Breakaway novels and loving every second. Dallas and Callie were fantastic in this book. They had great chemistry and banter! I could not get enough!

While Blocked is the second novel in the Breakaway series, this book is a complete standalone. What happens when the Striker's co-captain meets the one woman he can't get and is called out on his bad boy and manwhore ways? Callie Davis wants absolutely nothing to do with Dallas Easton due to his reputation as being a ladies man and his belligerent behavior on and off the ice. But what happens when this Goaltender decides to show Callie that he can in fact be a changed man for the right woman? All the swoons folks!

All in all this was a great book and I look forward to more from this author in the future! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

It was great story. It didn't had any dangerous situation, but it had some drama. And one annoying character, that I guessed will try to mess up things for Dallas and Callie, just because he thought he knew better and was selfish.
Dallas was great and sweet. I liked that when he meet Callie, he was happy to have a knew chapter in his life and not once fought his feelings for her. He knew that Callie was special and his.
Callie was a strong character. Though, I wished at one point that she had more fate in Dallas. In them. But Dallas once again proved how much she meant to him. I loved that. It was really a grant gesture. And I guess in a way, all that mess needed to happen, so they completely clicked forever with no doubts.
I can't wait for more in this series. There is a couple of characters, that I need to know what's going on, what are they hiding, what's is waiting for them. Looking forward for it all.

5 Stars...

Have I been hiding under a rock? Why did I not read this book sooner? If there is one type of genre/trope I love binge reading, it's hockey romances. They are my kryptonite for sure. The Breakaway series by L.P. Dover has everything I love in hockey romances. While I haven't yet read the first book yet, I have read books two and three and am excited for the next book that will be coming soon.

L.P. Dover has the talent for weaving a tale of love, romance, a bit of angst and even a touch of suspense. I found times that I was smiling or swooning. I even teared up here and there. One of my favorite aspects of romance novels are the dual perspectives. For me it certainly makes a better book. Being able to be inside the protagonists heads are important for my connectivity to both the hero AND heroine. So I was so pleased this book has all that for me.

A second favorite aspect is a groveling hero. I love when the hero of a romance knows he messed up, knows what he wants and will do anything to go after it. Even if he makes a fool of himself. The third plus for me is comedy. I was so pleased to see that in this book as well.

Dallas is a cocky man. He is used to getting the girls and you can assume correctly he loves women. Unfortunately his love for women will end up getting him into some trouble. But to Dallas' delight, an "angel" comes to his rescue. And from that moment on he starts to see his life differently. Unfortunately, Dallas is not one to be taken seriously AND he may or may not have a couple of brawny, protective brothers to convince that he is going to be a better man. I loved the antics that went on between all the guys in this book. I don't want to say too much regarding the dynamics of the team because that is partly what makes this book fun. Also there are many fun-loving, loyal secondary characters that bring more depth to this book.

Callie is a great heroine. She is smart, funny, independent and sassy. Not to mention, she can play hockey like a fiend. I loved watching her reactions to Dallas and his persistence to win her over. I felt the chemistry and connection these two had. And most importantly, I believed it. I believed that Dallas could change from his wild ways. And I absolutely loved that Callie made him work for it. Lord, did she make him work, lol.

This is a series I will be watching. There is a whole team of sexy, cocky hockey players that could use the love of a good woman. If you love hockey and fun, sexy low angst romances, I believe you'll love this book.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. :)

Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. I always enjoy Hockey books, I love these Alpha men. I have to say, that at the beginning, I was not liking Dallas, he was looking sleazy, which kind of surprised me, because I didn;t remember him being like that in the last book, but anyway he did redeem himself. Dallas Easton is a bad boy of hockey, and proud of it, but he has a pretty bad temper, and unfortunately that is one of the many bad impression that he gives Callie. First impression, pretty bad, and I wont tell you, so that you can read it, second one, he almost comes to blows with her when he thinks it is some guy beating him in hockey, until she takes the mask off, and he instantly feels regret. Dallas goes full on force trying to apologize to Callie, he truly is remorseful, and she is wary due to his reputation, and the fact that her brothers truly detest him. She finally gives him a chance, and everything is going great, they are both falling deeper and deeper, and then he was sabotaged and everyone is heartbroken, until the truth comes out, and the grand gesture.. I loved reading about Kellan and Kristan, and what they were up to, and imagine that Maddox story with Lacey comes next.

This is 2 ice hockey books read in a week for me, something I have never done before!

I haven't read the 1st book in this series but loved the sound of this blurb.

Dallas Easton has found his match in Callie and I was hoping she would be able to bring him down a peg or 2. In Hannah's words (Callies bezzie) 'I think it's time the infamous bad boy learns a lesson in humility.'!!!

I loved seeing how Callie played with Dallas seeing as both couldn't deny their attraction and him just proving every time that he is THE man!

The Breakaway series is officially my favorite by L.P. Dover.
Dallas Easton stole my heart right from the start. Yea the man was a dirty dog when it came to women, but it's because he hadn't met the right one.
Enter Callow Davis. She is one he'll of a spitfire. She wouldn't put up with any of Dallas crap..
What I liked the most is that Dallas had to work for it. He's not used to that. But for him Callie was worth it. and she truly cared for him.....This is a spoiler free review. Want to know more...Read this book

I couldn't get behind Callie at all which completely ruined the book for me. I get that Dallas was a player, but I don't think that gave her the right to "test" him by humiliating over and over again. He didn't cheat on her, didn't try to promise her anything he couldn't deliver...in fact all he wanted to do was apologize for a misunderstanding. Yet she treats him like he is so far beneath her.

I absolutely love hockey romances! I adore the brawny heroes that find a soft heart underneath all of those over worked muscles and aggression and shed their playboy ways and boy did L. P. Dover deliver with Dallas Easton! Couple that with my fascination for love/hate relationships and I was like a kid in a candy store with the romance budding between Callie and Dallas in Blocked. That being said, the insta- love was a bit much for me and I was left craving more sexual tension and anger for them to...work out of their system.

For me, without the sexual tension, the chemistry seems a little rushed but I did love the characters, including Callie's brothers and cannot wait to see if L. P. Dover turns things around and leaves me singing her praises in the upcoming book with Lacey and Maddox. Dover definitely knows how to leave a reader enticed to open up the next book and hit the ice with these hotties again.

If you are a huge fan of muscles, cocky heroes, and insta-love, Blocked may be the romance that you are looking for!

I loved Dallas & Callie’s story! So fun! And Dallas & Callie’s characters are written with such spunk and flare. They light up the pages and their chemistry does too!

Callie, oh my! What a spitfire. I love that she calls it as she sees it. She’s fun and strong-willed but still has her insecurities. And Dallas, loved getting to know him; and the lengths he went to, to prove to Callie what a good guy he is will keep you smiling. The level of drama was perfect, not over the top and kept you anticipating. Hockey players, overprotective brothers, secrets, blossoming relationships and friendships, a fun series that keeps you wanting more!

And oh my, does L. P. Dover set us up for what’s to come! I’m dying to know Lacey’s secret and also can’t wait for Justin’s story! So much more to come!

M/F Romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

You don’t necessarily have to read book 1, but it helps because characters do make an appearance again from book 1.

Dallas is cocky, arrogant and kind of a hot head. He thinks that he is going to keep living the single life and love it. He has an agent who is constantly harping on him about image, so that was somewhat annoying for me. Dallas meets Callie one night when his teammates are giving him extra practice. Despite being a great keeper, he allows several goals from a teammate and is riled up – he pulls the mask off to find Callie.

Callie is working as a nurse and loves her job. Even though it’s hard to see the sick kids, she loves what she does. She lives with her brothers and even has her cousin Maddox constantly checking in on her and protecting her. It is a little over the top in terms of the protection that Callie is given by her brothers.

I also really loved the relationship between her best friend and brother, Hannah and Corey. I thought that it brought some balance to the book, given the dynamic of Callie and Dallas.

Dallas has to work very hard to prove himself to Callie and sometimes that seemed a little one sided. However, there was great chemistry between Dallas and Callie.

I really hope that Maddox gets the next book because I can see tons of drama to come for him.

Blocked started off with a bang that immediately grabbed my attention! Hot hockey goalie? Badass babe that challenges him at every turn? Hell yes. Totally my jam. But sadly, after the first few chapters, I found myself bored. The progression of the relationship was a little too easy, and I'm not entirely convinced that there was any chemistry between Dallas and Callie. Idk. A minor case of insta-love that just didn't sit right with me, maybe? And it's not like I'm an insta-love hater. It just didn't work with these characters. With that being said, the story picked up again closer to the end, making this an average read.

Dallas is a cocky goalie, and when he comes across Callie, who is a sweet and independent hockey player, he is determined to have her. However, Callie does not give into Dallas easily; she certainly makes him work in order to let their relationship develop. No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed!
This is a well written, heart-warming, and addictive storyline which had me hooked throughout. I highly recommend this authors work for all readers, and look forward to reading the next book in this series.
