I'm so glad this series is back! I love how this issue went into the back story of Black Hammer, and how it was just a twist on New Gods and Inhumans.

Alcohol brings the team together in a fashion. A visitor from the Outside causes ripples.
Love the mishmash of superhero designs and tropes. Made me giggle! Especially the Darkseid, Galactus, Anti-Monitor Mongul thing heh.

This issue finally gives us some history on Black Hammer himself, his death and the events leading up to it. I liked volume 1 of this series so much I decided to go to the monthly issues,...it's well written, great artwork, deep characters & a compelling story.
