In a world where Judge Dredd turned into a werewolf... and stayed that way! The legendary creator of Dogwelder, John McCrea, takes a sideways look at one of the more celebrated Dredd stories, "Cry of the Werewolf" by John Wagner & Alan Grant and the late, great Steve Dillon. Brace yourself for... "Howl of the Wolf!"
This short Dredd story deviates and creates a new aftermath and final act for Cry of Werewolf, a famous 80s Dredd story written by Wagner and Grant. In the original tale, Dredd confronts and defeats a pack of deadly Werewolves, and even though he is bitten, he is saved moments before turning into a bloodthirsty Werewolf.
In Deviations, Dredd is a bloodthirsty werewolf.
Deviations is a really short and fun "What if" ride that doesn't take itself seriously.
The best moments of writer Mccrea is the parts where he casually started using the term DreddWolf and the scenes with feral right protesters.
The best moment of artist, Spicer: This panel with the "small sign"! Also, the character design of Dreddwolf!
This is a "What If" type story showing an alternate version of the Judge Dredd Cry of the Werewolf storyline from the 80s. Nothing truly groundbreaking here but a cool story with good art that makes a great companion story to the original.
A short story with Dredd and werewolfs. Yes, you heard me right. Pays nice tribute to the original silliness of Judge Dredd but the story arc is quite classical and not surprising.
An alternative storyline to the ending of the Judge Dredd story, "Cry of the Werewolf". Here, after saving Mega City One from the werewolves, Dredd gets turned into one. The story then continues from this deviation and shows how Dredd survives in the underground world beneath Mega City One as a werewolf, while still delivering the Judge's form of justice.
