KPAC ലളിത രോഗാതുരയായി ചികിത്സയിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്ന സമയത്ത് ആ ചിലവുകൾ സർക്കാർ ഏറ്റെടുക്കുമെന്ന തീരുമാനം വരികയും അതിനു നേരെ  ചില കോണുകളിൽ നിന്ന് വിമർശനം ഉയരുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. 500ലധികം സിനിമകളിൽ അഭിനയിച്ച, മലയാളത്തിലെ വലിയ കൊമേഴ്സ്യൽ വിജയങ്ങളായ പല സിനിമകളുടെയും സംവിധായകൻ്റെ ഭാര്യയായ നടിക്ക് ചികിത്സ സ്വയം നടത്താൻ പണമില്ലേ എന്നായിരുന്നു അവരുടെ ചോദ്യം. MLA ആയിരുന്ന PT തോമസ് അന്നതിന് നൽകിയ മറുപടി ഇന്നും ഓർക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. "കെപിഎസി ലളിതയെ സംരക്ഷിക്കേണ്ട ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം കേരളത്തിനുണ്ട്. കെപിഎസി ലളിതക്ക് എന്തെങ്കിലും സഹായം പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നതിനെ പരിഹസിക്കുവാൻ മുന്നോട്ട് വരുന്നവർ ഒരു വട്ടം കൂടി ആലോചിക്കുന്നത് നല്ലതാണ്," എന്നിങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു അത്. ആ പറഞ്ഞതിൻ്റെ പൊരുൾ പൂർണമായും മനസ്സിലായത് ഈ ആത്മകഥ വായിച്ചതിനു ശേഷമായിരുന്നു. She was already my favorite Malayalam actress, and reading this book only deepened my admiration for her. 

'Non Linear' ശൈലിയിൽ, എന്നാൽ Complicated ആക്കുകയോ clarity നഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തുകയോ ചെയ്യാത്ത അവതരണമാണ് പുസ്തകത്തിന്. ഏതാണ്ട് വായനക്കാരോട് സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു style. സിനിമയിലെ കഥപറച്ചിലുകൾ സമാനതകൾ ഇല്ലാത്ത എക്സ്പീരിയൻസ് ആക്കി മാറ്റുന്ന KPAC ലളിതയുടെ തന്നെ ശബ്ദത്തിൽ ഒരു Audio book ആയി ഈ പുസ്തകം കേൾക്കാൻ സാധിക്കാതെ പോയത് ഒരു വൻനഷ്ടം തന്നെ ആണ്.

The book is a touching account of her life & career. The 1st half is totally about her vocation in KPAC. I found the content of the first half a bit repetitive. But I felt the momentum speeding up as soon as I started the second half. In the second half, she writes about her movies, marriage, husband, family, kids, hardships, struggles in life, acquaintances, etc. Reading through the harships that she has gone through her life as a child and later as a working mothers wells up your eyes. She is the one of the most brilliant and gifted artists of Malayalam cinema and no one can ever replace her talent and capacity. The title of the book says ‘Kadha Thudarunnu’ and I truly await a second part of the book. May God bless her with good health and happiness.

Her life story is as interesting as the characters she has played on screen. The book is written just as a person would narrate their life, it's not really in chronological order but it's easy to keep track of the story. Her life is inspiring in the sense that she wanted to be in K.P.A.C and she went for it regardless of the obstacles and ended up achieving more than she aspired for. The last few chapters of the book surrounding her husband's death, her financial state and especially the part about her younger brother Rajan was definitely moving.

Heart touching narration which makes the silver screen celebrity family more closer. A must read for all Malayalees who love Bharathan movies and love KPAC Lalita as an actress...

K.P.A.C ലളിതയുടെ മാത്രം ആത്മകഥ അല്ല, സംവിധായകൻ ഭരതൻ്റെ കൂടി ആത്മകഥ എന്ന് പറയേണ്ടി വരും. ഒരു nonlinear രീതിയിൽ ആണ് അനുഭവങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞു പോകുന്നത്. അത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ നാടകം - സിനിമ- ജീവിതം നമ്മുക്ക് മുന്നിൽ മാറി മറഞ്ഞു വരുന്നത് കാണാം. പലപ്പോഴും അവർ നമ്മളോട് സംസാരിക്കുന്നത് ആയി ഒരു ഫീൽ ഈ ആത്മകഥ വായിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഒരു പക്ഷെ അവരുടെ ശബ്ദം അത്രേയും ആഴത്തിൽ പതിഞ്ഞത് കൊണ്ടാകാം അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അവരുടേതായ ഒരു slang ആത്മകഥയിൽ കാണാം കഴിയും.
