Brides for All Seasons #4

Esther, An Easter Bride

Rate this book
Unrealistic expectations can lead two people down a trail to despair.

After the untimely death of her husband, Esther Wilmington must choose between pauper's life as a poor widow in Philadelphia or a marriage of convenience to her late husband's son. However, she is presented with a third option she couldn't have imagined: moving west as a mail order bride.

Elias Jones likes the idea of a wife but quickly discovers how complicated it is to share his home, his bed, and his life with someone. Perhaps he was hasty in marrying. But he soon realizes he cannot imagine a life without his new bride.

This book is really a lesson on communication. and how subtle but insidious emotional and mental abuse can be. of the 4 i've read, this is my least favorite, but only because i wanted to throttle Ester and Elias for not talking. It was still a sweet story and I did enjoy the book immensely.

I found this book kinda slow moving... maybe it was too similar to the previous books in the Brides for all Seasons?

It would have been a nice touch for each book (or at least this one), to have an epilogue.

Overall, this series continues to be a light, fun, summer read.

This book is about Esther and her story and how she came to Montana. I like Esther love story with Elias .I just feel like they had some communication problems that they had work threw. Elias just didntry to learn anything and her like what her hobbies were or what brought her the most joy to her face. But once he started taking the time to get to know her and really get to know her he started really understand why she was where she was at in her time of life and he was more then willing to learn whatever he need to to keep the one he loved. You could tell there was something there between them and that spark was still alive by the end of the book and I was happy with the ending of Esther story. I truely enjoy reading these books to also read about previous character as the authors does a great job as to go back and work those chatacter throughout the story and and give us updates on chatacters that we have come to love.

This is my fourth book in this series and my least favorite. It was underwhelming and at times a frustrating read. I did not connect with either Esther or Elias or them as a couple. There was a lot of lack of communication to the point I was doing a lot of 'oh no don't say that'. Thankfully it was a quick read.

A entertaining and exciting story. Esther has had a bad marriage and hopes her new husband will help her find love. They face mistrust, misunderstanding and the seeking of love makes a grand adventure. I highly recommend you read this book and the others in the series as well as all titles by Hildie🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Uncaged Book Reviews:

Another great installment in this series of mail-order brides. This one is a bit different than the others, with Esther who is a widow, and her husband didn’t leave her enough to live on, so she answers an ad to go west and marry a rancher. The author gives you a great sense of the characters and the backdrop within a novella length, and you can easily picture it in your mind as you read along.

I really enjoy this series, and it’s an easy afternoon read. Reviewed by Cyrene

Ester, An Easter Bride

I liked this story. Ester had been married to a much older man in Philadelphia. He died and his two sons were only interested in their inheritance. Ester was only left a stipend. Her friend helped ladies go west to be mail order brides and she decided she would do this. She was going to marry Elias, Evan’ brother. Her cousin, Aurora, had already traveled to the west and Ester was looking forward to see her. This is a good story about Ester and Elias getting to know each other. Enjoy.

After the disappointment of the last book, this was a pleasant surprise. I loved Esther's practical and a bit mature character compared all the ladies in books before, simply because she was a widow and had been through a lot. a Good addition to the series and looking forward to read next one.

Esther, An Easter Bride

I'm loving this series, it's so different. The characters are awesome, the story lines are great and the men are hot! I enjoy meeting the new characters but also learning about the previous characters as their stories progress. This book kept me involved and turning pages. I can't wait for the next book.

Esther, An Easter Bride ((Book 4) By Hildie McQueen

Four stars, cute storyline .. Esther had blast baggage from her previous marriage.. Coming out West to join her other relatives as a mail order bride to a rancher.. Elias, was use to being by himself, and now married, he's worried whether the marriage would work. A basic ending, after general story.

A Wonderful, Entertaining, Delightful & Romantic Story.

I truly enjoyed reading this book.

Esther & Elias were wonderful characters.

Both were unsure of changes in their lives.
It had to be extremely difficult back in the days when no one had electricity or vehicles. It must have been very lonely & rough.

I am looking forward to reading Emmett's story next in the series.

Another good book in the Brides for all Seasons series. This time Aurora's cousin Esther arrives in Laurel to marry Elias Jones, a rancher. Esther had originally planned to move to Laurel and open a dress shop but her plans changed when she decided to get married instead.

Esther, an Easter Bride

I was disappointed in the wearisome of Esther and her decision to marry. I felt her possibly strong character was diminished with her inability to just talk and share with her husband.

A bit disappointing after reading the previous books in this series but still a good book. Some confusion with character names made reading this book frustrating as well as the need for more thorough proofing.

A hesitant love

Esther and Elias discover themselves and each other slowly. Past experiences have made them hesitant about the ability to find love.

A very good book

If you like stories about mail order brides then this is a great one. Esther must leave her home and head west at least she has some friends there some brides never had anyone they knew. How she handles this situation and her new life make this a book worth reading

Great story...

I enjoyed the story of Esther, a woman who undertook a long tiring trip that would change her life forever. It couldn't have been easy to become a Mail order bride..
