In this warm, high-spirited contemporary novel from author Elisa Lorello, big love can happen in the smallest of spaces. Skye Littleton said goodbye to her job, her best friend, and her home in Rhode Island to start over in Billings, Montana, with Vance Sandler, a gorgeous guy she met online. On her cross-country flight, Skye shares her happy story with her seatmate, Harvey Wright, a Billings resident who knows Vance―and his reputation for heartbreak. Harvey's infuriating advice to Skye? Go home. When Skye arrives, she discovers that Vance has changed his mind and wants nothing to do with her. Despite the setback, Skye is determined to rebuild her life and begin a new chapter in Montana's largest city, which sometimes feels like a small town. With Harvey's help, Skye finds a job―and a passion for organizing closets and clearing out clutter. But as she grows closer to Harvey, she finds herself homesick for her former life. Could Harvey be her future, or is she his chance at revenge? Can Skye finally trust her own heart enough to let it show her the way home?

I absolutely needed to read this book by this new (to me) author, at this time. Between all the thrillers I read and the grim state of the world right now, this book really hit the spot for me.

Skye Littleton works in retail. She kind of fell into it, she doesn't hate it but she isn't thrilled either. She tries her best to make a success of her career but when she meets Vance online, she is swept away by him and she sells almost everything she owns to move to Montana to be with him. Big mistake, BIG mistake! It turns out that Vance is the worst kind of guy - filling her head with sweet nothings and promises of a future together that he has no intention of making a reality. I thought that Skye handled the whole situation really well, although I was kind of waiting for her to slap his face or something, I would have done!

Luckily for Skye, she meets Harvey on the plane to Montana and he proves to be an excellent friend, a decent human being she can lean on. He isn't perfect, he has his demons too, but I love that the two of them complement each other so well, in so many ways.

This book, however, is not about Vance OR Harvey, it is about Skye herself. About how the messages she received whilst growing up shaped the adult she became. It is about standing up for yourself, following your heart, figuring out what your strengths and weaknesses are, going for gold, even if you aren't the smartest/best looking/most educated/intelligent etc etc person in the universe. Everyone has a gift (or more than one) and an inner voice that you should listen to. This was my favourite thing about this book :) I was cheering Skye on, all the way.

This really was a corker of a book. It was sweet without being saccharine, it was realistic without being nasty and it features characters that people can relate to.

I highly recommend this novel, 5 stars from me :)

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Thank you to THE Book Club and NetGalley.

Big Skye Littleton is an enjoyable contemporary romance about making changes in your life, and finding true happiness in the things you do, and with those you love. I'd definitely recommend this to fans of romance.

I borrowed this in audiobook format through Amazon Kindle Unlimited.

A really lovely story about life challenges, relationships and change.

I loved the writing style and the characters, and the evocative descriptions of Billings Montana (I so want to go there!) and was immersed in Skye's journey to rebuild her life after being let down in the most brutal way by the man she thought was 'the one'.

Big Skye Littleton is a gentle and inspiring book which will have you thinking about your relationships and the people and things you surround yourself with.

This is the second Elisa Lorello book I've read and like the first was a lovely change from the usual blood and gore or heavier contempory books that I tend to read.

Big Skye Littleton was such an unexpected pleasure to read. I went into this book, not knowing what the book was about and not having read anything by this author.
We've all been Skye Littleton at one point in our lives, down on our luck and having to find ourselves and our place in the world and I found myself sharing her Highs and lows and cheerleading for her to succeed.
This book was such a beautiful, warm, and cozy read Thank you Elisa Lorello for this book, it was my first read of yours but not my last !!!

A lovely story about a woman who gives everything up travels across the country after meeting a man. The man sitting beside her, Harvey, on the plane knows her boyfriend and hates him. He tells Skye some home truths about Vance which she doesn't believe until she reaches Billings.
Skye must learn to pick up the pieces and build a new life for herself.

This has been the perfect book for me to read whilst I'm sick, it has given me that warm fuzzy feeling inside!

We follow Skye on her journey from Rhode Island to Billings, Montana where she is moving to be with a guy she met online and has only met once. Already my alarm bells were going off, this wouldn't be something I would have done but I admire Skye's determination that Vance would be the one for her. She meets Harvey on the plane who also lives in Billings and he makes it clear he think she's making a silly decision especially after he learns who she's meeting.

Of course, poor Skye has been stood up so with Chip (her cat) in tow she moves into a nearby hotel. She makes good friends with Harvey who offers her a job and a place to stay.

I really did admire Skye, I thought she was a lovable character and I loved following her journey to Montana. She managed to rebuild her life with help from Harvey and some other new friends and it really looks like she's managed to make Billings her home after all.

I loved the setting of Billings, I would love to visit Montana, Elisa has done a beautiful job of describing the state and it sounds like someplace I'd be happy to move to.

Big Skye Littleton is just a wonderful, feel-good book that is quick to read and it really did warm my heart.

Thank you to The Book Club on Facebook and Elisa Lorello for allowing me to read and review this book. All views are my own.

This was an absolutely wonderful read! It took you from Rhode Island to Montana and on to Washington. Being from Massachusetts and close to Rhode Island, I could relate to so many of the places and I loved that. The vivid descriptions of Montana made me want to go there. It is big sky country after all. This is a story about love, loving yourself being the most important. Skye has always felt less than and this is about her journey to find herself and what she wants out of life, rather than what people expect of her. She takes us on this journey with her. I just loved the two main characters, Skye, of course, and also Harvey, whom she met on the plane. The characters are quirky and realistic. They have their ups and downs, as we all do. They jumped off of the pages and into my life! The story flows well from beginning to end. You will smile, laugh and get angry. You will love this book. My very favorite quote is: "You have to be at home inside yourself first. Then you can live anywhere." I highly recommend this quick read. You will love it as much as I did!

This book reminds me a little of a modern day fairy tale. The underlying message in this book, self worth, not to mention the pitfalls of the internet, are excellent. You will cheer for Skye through the whole book. A great book to read at the beach, or curl up with. The author did a great job with the scenic descriptions.

Thanks to Net Galley for this book in return for an honest review.

For the most part this is a terrific story of Skye learning to believe in herself and love herself. But it lost 1/2* for the constant harping on her weight. Yes, I understand that it was part of the reason for her low self esteem, but the author really hit us over the head with the almost constant references to it.

Skye Littleton follows her heart and makes a life changing decision to uproot herself and move to Billings, Montana. Soon after arriving she finds herself lost, heart-broken and alone. Skye begins a soul searching journey where she seeks to not only truly find herself but also be successful in her career. Harvey, a recently divorced father of two, finds a friend in Skye while also trying to battle his own insecurities and sense of failure.

As a contemporary fiction novel I wanted just a bit more out of the conflict in Big Skye Littleton. I kept waiting for more drama or suspense. I was hoping for Skye to meet up with Vance a second time and have a reconnection/fallout or some mystery. Vance was far to dull of a character in my opinion, His dialogue was really only a few lines throughout the entire novel. Harvey was passive and caring but not deep enough for me. Harvey needs to have some negative quality other than just his outburst during the chance meeting with Vance, Deb and Skye. Skye herself was likeable and fun, but a little unreliable. At times she was all about her career and aspirations towards interior design and yet she had so many jobs throughout the novel and seemed a bit flighty when it came to employment.

Overall I would give this book a three out of five. I enjoyed the quick read but was left feeling like it lacked substance. I would recommend more drama or suspense in the conflict of the storyline.

I also want to thank NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book.

This was my first read of the year for the 2018 Reading Challenge of my online book club, The Fiction Cafe Book Club. The first challenge was to read a book with food on the cover.

I’m not sure why I picked up this book originally, I think I must have read a review somewhere, but it has been sat on my TBR for a while (as have hundreds of other books, that is no indication of how much I wanted to read it. There are just too many appealing books out there and too few hours in a day!). The setting of Montana was the main draw for this book originally – the USA is my favourite place to travel and Montana is a state that I long to visit – but once I dove in, I was charmed by the whole story, not just the setting.

Refreshingly, the main character in this book is not some fresh-faced, lithe twenty-something, but a real-life, realistically-shaped, flawed but likeable woman in her mid-thirties to whom I could totally relate. At the beginning of the book, Skye Littleton is having a personal crisis which leads her throwing caution to the winds and moving across the country to a strange state where she knows no one, for a man she met on the internet. Predictably, it all goes horribly wrong and Skye has to face up to crawling home with her tail between her legs to the life with which she had become disillusioned or start again from scratch.

I was concerned that I wouldn’t buy in to anyone being so reckless, but Elisa writes Skye’s story so emotively and with such understanding that I totally bought in to why she would do something so foolhardy, and why she then can’t bring herself to go back. I was rooting for Skye from the beginning, wishing her the best and feeling every setback and every triumph with her throughout the book. The story is beautifully put together in this regard.

The location of Billings, Montana was fabulously brought to life in the book, as I’d hoped, and it has only increased my desire to visit this state. The romantic hero of the story is also realistically and sympathetically drawn, and it seems to be the perfect match for Skye, although the path of true love never did run smooth as we all know and, cleverly, I really was not sure right until the end whether Skye would get a happy ending, or even what I wanted that happy ending to be. Ultimately, I found myself wanting what was best for Skye, whether or not that was as part of a couple or single, and I could not decide what that was going to be until Skye herself realised what she wanted.

Ultimately, this is a story about a woman who has lost her sense of self and is trying to find it again, but not in a spiritual ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ way. (Not that there is anything wrong with that, I loved that book, but this isn’t the same). It is the story of someone who doesn’t love or respect herself very much and who is on a journey to understand that, until she learns to do that, she will never find a man who can love or respect her either.

This book is a cut above the standard romantic fiction. It is believable, thoughtful, emotive and warm and I totally loved it. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to read an honest story about a real woman and real love.

Have you ever stopped to look at your life and realize you're in your mid 30s, single, have no kids, and a job you hate. Not to mention your family pretty much sucks and thinks your garbage next to your perfect older sister. All this leading to a major mid life crisis breakdown. That is exactly what happens to Skye Littleton in this book and her breakdown sends her across the country into the waiting arms of her online boyfriend. However, on the plan she starts friendly conversation with her seat mate who apparently knows Skye's boyfriend and he paints a whole different picture of the guy Skye gave up her entire life for. Refusing to believe any of this she lands in Montana only to find her perfect boyfriend has stood her up. Thus begins the story of Big Skye Littleton coming into her own and finding out just how amazing she is and realizing that it might not be too late to have the life she's always dreamed of.

I loved, loved, loved this book. If I could give it more than five stars I absolutely would. I was single into my late 20s so I could really relate to Skye's intense need to want to fall in love and settle down because time was running out. I also happened to dabble in some online dating and actually met my husband on a dating website but I am well aware of the many wolves in sheep clothing like Vance. The character was just so easy to relate to and channel her feelings and emotions.

The love story she ends up finding is even more perfect. I've actually been on a suspense/thriller/mystery kick as of late so I was a little hesitant about switching it up and throwing a sappy chick lit in the mix but it was the best book I've read in a long time. I actually felt relaxed while reading and really enjoyed myself. I even at times found myself actually slowing down a bit or even putting the book up for the day to prolong this book. I didn't want it to end and I wanted to get to know Skye more and Harvey and both of them together. Once I was finished I even felt like I missed them. That's when you know you're reading the works of a talented author. The feeling I got reminded me of how I felt when I first fell in love with Debbie Macomber and her Cedar Cove series except Elisa Lorello puts a little more of a modern day twist on relationships and struggles.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone. Especially anyone looking for an easy, relaxing read. I definitely plan on checking this author out more.

Reading Elisa Lorello by Big Skye Littleton was like stepping into a world that felt both intimate and expansive, a place where love, heartbreak, and self-discovery all coexist in the most relatable way. From the very first pages, I was drawn into Skye Littleton’s journey a young woman daring to leave behind everything familiar for a fresh start in a new city, carrying hope, excitement, and just a touch of naivety. Her courage to reinvent herself is something that resonated deeply with me, especially in a world where starting over can feel both thrilling and terrifying.

What I loved most about this novel is how beautifully Littleton portrays the unpredictability of life. Skye’s cross country move, and the disappointment she faces when Vance changes his mind, felt heartbreakingly real. The author doesn’t shy away from showing the messy, confusing, and often ironic twists that life throws at us. I found myself rooting for Skye as she navigated her setbacks, learning to trust herself, and discovering unexpected opportunities including a new passion for organizing closets and clearing out clutter, which was surprisingly endearing and gave her story such a warm, human touch.

Harvey Wright, too, was a fascinating character. His mix of blunt honesty and quiet charm made the interactions between him and Skye feel genuine and nuanced. I loved the slow burn tension between them, the moments of humor, and the subtle emotional depth that Littleton brings to their relationship. You can feel the push and pull of their connection in every scene, making it impossible to put the book down.

But beyond the romance, what really stayed with me was the theme of finding home not just in a physical place, but within oneself. Skye’s journey is about more than love; it’s about resilience, self discovery, and embracing life’s unpredictability with an open heart. Montana becomes more than a backdrop it feels alive, vibrant, and full of possibilities, mirroring Skye’s own growth.

Overall, Elisa Lorello is a heartfelt, high spirited novel that left me smiling, sighing, and reflecting on the importance of trusting your heart, even when life doesn’t go as planned. Big Skye Littleton has a remarkable ability to make readers feel like they’re living every triumph, setback, and tender moment alongside her characters. This is a story I’ll remember long after I’ve turned the last page.

Most of us, at some point in our lives have finally felt enough is enough of this, taken a leap of faith into a new situation… and had the rug pulled out from under our feet as we land. Yeah, Skye’s experiencing that right now. Her family is a group of worthless people who would rather tear her down than lift her up… ever. She’s headed out of the state she’s grown up in, leaving behind just about everything to be with the man who says he has a new life waiting for her with him at her side in Montana… except maybe not really.

Big Skye Littleton is a thoughtful, realistic journey into self-worth, self-confidence and finding out that you are an amazing person with gifts you never knew about. As Skye discovers just how bad her situation is right now after being stood up, she’s grateful for the mind-saving seat mate who just might turn into a friend, if not more. While Harvey might have been proven right about Vance, he’s also willing to help Skye begin her new life in Montana with no strings attached.

This time it’s Sky’s turn to shine as she makes a new life for herself on her terms, her rules and her decisions. No one to be compared to constantly. Just Skye, Harvey, her cat and the chance at new friends, new experiences and a new beginning. Big Skye Littleton comes alive with vivid descriptions of beautiful Montana, with a realistic feel between Skye and Harvey as well. It is possible to pick up the pieces of your life and land in a good spot.

I enjoyed this story very much. I’d recommend it for any reader who enjoys Romance in any genre. It’s got a good life lesson that we all could benefit from reading.

I'm of two minds with this book. Skye Littleton is a character with obviously low self esteem that is extremely touchy about everything anybody says to her. Actually, in the beginning of the book she is immature and shallow. She is always justifying other's concern and doubts by thinking that they are jealous etc and when the popo hits the fan, she wonders why they never told her to be careful... It is one of her less than stellar qualities and becomes quite grating after a while.

That said, this book has many other redeeming qualities once you are able to look past the irritating bits.

On the whole this book is about growing up, taking risks, learning to love yourself, doing things because you want to do them and not to please your parents, boyfriend etc. It is about being yourself and discovering what your passions are, even when significant people in your life pull up their noses.

On the whole I wanted to hug this book to my chest, like a well loved teddy bear, it was in essence such a feel good book. About a woman who never thought that she would amount to much in life taking a chance, spreading her wings and achieving her dreams.

So now we come to my being of two minds. How to rate it. If it were not for the grating issues I would have given it a 4. But, having disliked Skye so much at one point I just cannot bring myself to gieve it more than a 2.5 or 3.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this book.

Big Skye Littleton, where do I start? Should it be with my initial feeling of OMG, what a dingbat THIS character is? No, should it be with the wonderful descriptions of the scenery and feel of Billings, MT, a place I often visited while living in MT. Hmmm....it should be with how very much I loved this book even though I started out thinking the main character was an idiot!

Yes, I loved this book! It's a feel good story about self-worth, self-image and yes, even a little about being wary of internet Lotharios. Who throws up their entire life after spending a weekend with someone they 'fell in love with' while chatting online? Someone that is extremely unhappy with where their life is just before they pitched it out the window.

That someone would be Skye Littleton and she really hit the jackpot when she met Harvey, who shared a few home truths with her on the plane to Billings. The fact that Skye didn't believe Harvey was just the start.

Big Skye Littleton will, in turns, have you cheering for the underdog, wondering about why someone would do such a thing, and cheering again. It's a fun roller coaster ride through the beautiful city of Billings, MT and one that I didn't want to end.

Thanks to Elisa Lorello, NetGalley, and the publishers for allowing me an ARC of this delightful novel by a new to me author. I will be seeking out more of her work.

Skye Littleton said goodbye to her job, her best friend, and her home in Rhode Island to start over in Billings, Montana, with Vance Sandler, a gorgeous guy she met online. On her cross-country flight, Skye shares her happy story with her seatmate, Harvey Wright, a Billings resident who knows Vance—and his reputation for heartbreak. Harvey’s infuriating advice to Skye? Go home.

When Skye arrives, she discovers that Vance has changed his mind and wants nothing to do with her. Despite the setback, Skye is determined to rebuild her life and begin a new chapter in Montana’s largest city, which sometimes feels like a small town. I am so glad I read this book. It was great to see how Skye developed from being under confident to being a lovely confident woman.

I loved all the characters except one and I'll bet you can guess who that one is!

A fun and entertaining story about starting anew.

Skye feels stuck in life. Her solution? Pack up her most cherish belongings and leave Rhode Island for a new life with a guy (Vance) from Billings, Montana she met online and has only spent 1 weekend with.

On the long plane ride, she discovers the nice guy (Harvey )next to her is from Billings, Montana. The problem is that he knows the guy she's left her life behind for and he's telling her he's scum. The reason he knows this is that Vance stole his wife!

Once in Billings, Skye discovers that Harvey wasn't exaggerating. Vance casts her aside, having enjoyed the chase with no desire for the spoils. Lucky for Skye, Harvey gave her his card if she needs anything.

Soon, Skye is both working with and renting space from Harvey. She expands her work options by taking a job at a local furniture store. Eventually, love starts to bloom and all looks good until a run in with Vance shows her how much baggage Harvey still carries.

This was a fun read with the reminder that we can always start anew. But, first, you need to let go of the past if you want to see a different future.

Thanks to the author and Netgalley for the ARC of this book.

This was a one-day-read for me. I couldn't put it down. I began late in the morning and stayed up past my bedtime to finish. Ok, my bedtime is early since I get up at 4 a.m., but still. :)

The main character, Skye, will speak to readera, as most of us have experienced a major upheaval in our lives, be it career, relationship, moving to a new city.

What I took from Skye's story is how important it is to love and respect yourself and not letting other people's opinions undermine your dreams and the confidence it takes to achieve them. We need to be kinder to ourselves and make sure we're surrounded by other kind people who love us as we are.

I also enjoyed the sections about feng shui. It was interesting reading about the different concepts and how they can be applied to our lives.

Aaaand, F***face gets his comeuppance, so that's satisfying. :)

It's never too late to reinvent yourself, no matter what your age or where you're at in life.

As always, Elisa Lorello doesn't disappoint. She brings a great story to life with warm, engaging characters. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

I won this from Good reads e book give away

Really looked forward to reading some thing light for the beach. Found this to be a easy and fast read. Don't think this is your typical romance book. This is about changes we make in life and what kind of relationship we are looking for. Also makes us remember to not to always go judging a book by its cover.

We follow Skye Littleton who is bored with her job and wanting to find a love of her own. She thinks she has found the perfect man over the internet. We follow her from Road Island to Montana. He has convinced her to give up her job, her apartment and car and move in with him. She has taken it hock line and sinker as the saying goes. Guess what she gets a shock when she gets there. He tells her he has changed his mind and to get lost and leave him alone. She is heart broken.

We find she has decided to stay and make changes in her life. Skye is denominated to show everyone that she turn her life around and make a go of it there. I really give Skye a high five

This is a great read and find out how Skye turns things around.

Many thanks to Netgalley for this arc! (Sorry I read it late, ha ha.)

I've never been to Montana, but this book makes me want to go! You can't help but admire Skye, as she packs up bag and baggage (and her cat, named after Chip Gaines) to head off on a new adventure and a new love... but life has other plans and suddenly her world is tipped topsy-turvy. She finds herself exploring new interests and new hobbies. I don't think I've tried huckleberries, either, but this story definitely makes them sound appealing!

I don't know how realistic it is that a random stranger (Harvey) would invite you into his home, his business, his life, but it's very probable that a fling from the past would suddenly "ghost" you. (I'm glad my online romance turned into a happily-ever-after!) In all seriousness, Harvey (and Bucky!) was a great character, and I love how Skye didn't just sit around and feel sorry for herself - but she learned to love herself and to try new things. Seattle has always been on my bucket list!

This is my first time reading a book written by Elisa Lorello. When I received a copy I didn’t know what to expect. Once I started reading I could not put it down.
Skye Littleton gives up everything in Rhode Island her house, her job and she leaves her best friend. All that to travel across country to Billings, Montana for a man (Vance) she met online. While flying to Billings she meets the man sitting next to her (Harvey). She tells her what she thinks is her happy story to him. Harvey is from Billings and knows Vance. He gives Skye the advice “GO HOME”. When Skye arrives in Billings she finds out Vance no longer wants anything to do with her. Instead of running back home with Harvey’s help, Skye decides to try to make a life in Billings. Could Harvey possibly be her forever or does she run back home? If you like Romances this is the book for you. As for reading more of Elisa’s books that is a definite YES!!

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
Skye was so excited to be moving to Montana
She meet her "dream" guy + she was moving to Montana to be with him.
On the plane, she start talking w/ Harvey, who happens to be the one that Vance stole the wife from.
What ? What ?
I couldn't believe it. It either happens in movies or books.
Now Skye has a decision to make.
Should she stay in Montana or go back to Rhode Island ?
She decided to stay in Montana.
I thought she made the right decision.
Who cares about Vance? He was a total loser.
Who knows, maybe this is a beautiful beginning for Skye.
I was so happy when Skye + Harvey got together.
They totally deserved each other.
Loved the storytelling + the characters.

"Skye Littleton said goodbye to her job, her best friend, and her home in Rhode Island to start over in Billings, Montana, with Vance Sandler, a gorgeous guy she met online. On her cross-country flight, Skye shares her happy story with her seatmate, Harvey Wright, a Billings resident who knows Vance—and his reputation for heartbreak. Harvey’s infuriating advice to Skye? Go home."
I struggled to finish this book. The storyline felt fragmented with a main character, whose thoughts and feelings border on bipolar, that I really disliked. While the brief on the book seemed so interesting the book itself, not so much, dragging in parts jumping around in others with an ending that looked liked the author even said enough already.

I received this book as a Kindle giveaway by Goodreads.

Actual rating, 4.5/5. I really enjoyed this story about Skye Littleton, a 36 year old woman who was a dreamer who never pushed herself to pursue her dreams. After following a man she met online to Billings, Montana, with unhappy results, she found herself in a position to remake herself and her life. This is Skye's story of a personal reawakening, and how her change impacts those around her, including her sister and Harvey, the man who rescues her when she first arrives in Billings.

I loved the characters, especially Skye, Summer, and Harvey. They were real people with imperfections and good intentions. This is the first novel I've read by Elisa Lorello, and I will look for more of her books in the future.

This was an okay read for me.I just could not feel any connection to the characters and more so between the protagonists Skye and Harvey.I thought that Skye did a very ill-advised thing in uprooting her life for a man she knew for such a short time and was in love with, only to flip and fall for someone else quick time. The conflicts presented were so banal and quickly dismissed that I question what was the point of including them. The supporting characters were more interesting and helped the story along.I'm undecided at this point whether I would read another book penned by this author, but would like to thank her and her publishers for affording me the opportunity to critique this work.

Light hearted fluff, very easy to read. Quite predictable, overly dramatic with emphasis on morals on self improvement and loving oneself but had some nice moments (My favourite- "No you can't throw out those screws—those are good screws!” Harvey protested. “Then put them in your toolbox!” Skye replied in mock exasperation. Harvey held them in his open hand, about a dozen in all, and gave them one last consideration before tossing them into the garbage bag next to him. “Ahhh, screw it,” he said, prompting laughs from both of them.")

Quite melodramatic unnecessarily but otherwise an easy no-think read.
