The final book "So That Was Boat Life" looks back at the years Dan enjoyed afloat and discusses why he felt it was time to head back to dry land.

I learned a lot about these house boats, from this book and one other. Interesting life, but not for me! I often thought a living on a houseboat would be a wonderful alternative to a house, something like living out of a Winnebago- traveling around and visiting places. But as time has gone by, I like being settled in a stationary house! Still, it's a fun read and a great way to live vicariously! Kudos to Mr. Brown for having lived it and sharing his tale!
