Rate this book
‘You are my sunshine' is the inspiring true story of one woman's battle against illness and disability; it charts her struggles adjusting to her new life and disabilities and the limitations which they bring. The book details her interactions with the medical staff and the progression of her life and her condition; and ultimately time spent in hospital. It tells the story of this woman’s life of illness and her battles to remain positive amidst all the chaos. There are tests and more tests, plus many appointments with different consultants and doctors; all with the aim of getting to the bottom of her disabling illness. However, alongside all the medical issues and disability is the story of the love and support of her; children, family and friends which makes this book so positive and special. You are my sunshine will make you laugh and cry, it will move you and inspire you to be your best and to be there for others. Here are some the Amazon reviews of the book. “Loved this book, very well written and I think will help anyone that is struggling with their health and trying to continue their day to day life.” “A truly inspirational read, that illustrates a person’s suffering, trials and tribulations but still leaves you at the end of the book with a positive outlook on life, and feeling anything is achievable.” “A page turning book of raw honesty and courage as Anna deals with her constant pain with no name that fitted into the usual medical boxes. Her positive attitude and memory for detail shine through her darkest moments as she literally fights for her life. I read You are my sunshine in one greedy go as it had all the ingredients a good book needs, laughter tears and an inspiring lead character whose children are her amazing side kicks.” A clip from the book, 'My advice to each and everyone is not to leave it till it's too late, treasure your friends and family, don't leave it to tell people that you love them, make time for people who you care about; I guarantee that your life will be enriched and happier if you do. People can surprise you in all manner of fantastic ways!'

Inspirational, honest, emotive and sometimes harrowing stuff from Anna Grey with her biographical account of living with a tumour and it’s associated disability.
I was able to relate in many ways to this story, although what Anna went through is insurmountable in comparison to my struggle with Fibromyalgia and ME.
She writes really well, and I sailed through this book.
I’ve already downloaded part 2 and look forward to seeing where life took Anna next.

An amazing woman

There is no doubts that Anna Gray is an extraordinary woman, admirable and inspiring. She has fought her way through a dreadful illness with courage and optimism. Consequently it is a shame that this book doesn't only seem not to have been edited, but not even proofread. It is full of typos, misspellings and awful grammar. Worse even than my own. Maybe this shouldn't matter but it does and spoiled for me an interesting read.

Detailed account of mayhem

A detailed and very raw and honest account of what I'm sure was a scary and hectic part of Anna's life.
She is an inspiration to many and I look forward to the next book this one only took me a day to read because I couldn't put it away.

Really enjoyed this book and couldn’t out it down. For the critics who complain about grammar and the layout on the kindle - I assume Anna Gray has self published this book which makes it a nightmare for formatting. However much you edit and organise pages when kindle add the book it can change all the settings. I wouldn’t let this put readers off what is a great account of an awful situation and journey.

It is very rare that I do not finish a book, but I'm afraid I stopped this one at around 10%. The writing was so poor! The sentence formation and grammar left me wanting to scream, it was that poor. Sentences didn't make sense and the text read like a poorly written essay. I'm afraid this was enough for me to give up on this one, so I didn't actually find out what was wrong with the author.

Undecided...

The writing made me like the author, despite grammatical and spelling errors which make me feel this is a "self publish"..
The one thing that stands out in the book is "lack of money".. Yet despite this the author takes many many holidays and even several "spa breaks" which would be out of the research of the normal person she is trying to describe herself as..
At the end she talks about not having enough money to treat her kids yet during all the time she suffered she managed to treat herself to foreign holidays and the above mentioned spa breaks which cost huge amounts. She spent a long time not working yet getting paid for not doing so, which is abrasive to the reader who had nothing and cannot put food on the table let alone take spa breaks or mini holidays. Yet she writes in a way which makes you like her.. So I'm kind of undecided on this book for those trains. She is lucky to afford those things yet unlucky with her health. She complains about the cost of a travelodge for her kids at to see her in hospital yet manages to fund money to go to time, and so on... It's a make your own mind up book, but the combined grammar/text changes/money oriented stuff makes it uncomfortable for me

Naturally no one wants to low-rate a real person's struggle, but i'm basing it on enjoyment of the writing and as someone who reads a lot of books of this type, it didn't read too well. It would be a great blog for friends and family but should have been edited, things like a lot of exclamation marks!!! and it lacked flow. Sorry!!

Other than the spelling and grammar being awful, this book was such an interesting read! Amazing to see how people are so positive through such scary times.

Will not finish this book. As she states in her book many many times she works in education but to me this book is poorly written. And everyone who goes through diagnosis stage has to endure tests and lots of waiting around that's the nhs.
