I loved my time in the Manor, it was rich of history and emotion. The story is unique as it is told in a form of a letter from a Mother to her son. Of her bride price, her true family, her part in the war and the love of her life. It was truly a tale you treasure, The South vs. The North, one full of deep dark roots, but one you won't help but respect.

There is no order to the Infidelity World series. The Infidelity world reaches far, while it has no direct ties to Infidelity, it ties in with some key characters in the story. Building onto a world that I have already come to love.

Loved, loved this book!!!
Historical romance is one if my favorite genres, and even though this one didn't focus so much on the romance but mainly the hard times of America during the war between the North and the South, it was an extremely delightful read.
An arranged marriage will be the reason for one woman to stand up against slavery. She will ignore her status, her older husband and society's rules in order to do the right thing. Will she succeed to bring her husband 's plantation to another level?
Read to find out! I recommend it.

For someone who claims not to have a penchant for historical novels, I sure as hell struggled to put Ted Persinger's "Manor" down. This was a prequel to the "Infidelity" series and transported me back to the American civil war in the 1800's. I loved the feel of the story. It reminded me of the film "Gone with the Wind" and the series "North and South" both of which are up there in my all time favourite lists.

"Manor" told the story of one woman's strength and fighting spirit in times of adversity. It showed the struggles and hardship she faced when the world around her was crumbling and it showed her bravery and courage when fighting for those less fortunate then herself. There were so many instances that I could see where history had repeated itself in Charlie and Nox's story and it seemed to all stem for the curse of that darn Montatgue Manor, lol. Oh and don't worry, for you us hopeless romantics, there is an element of romance that filters through the story that will have your heart skipping and a jumping.

For such a short novella, "The Manor" definitely packed quite the punch. Even if you don't think you're a fan of historical stories, I would definitely suggest you read this one. It won't take up much of your time as it is short but I'm sure you will love it.

I rated "Manor" ❤️❤️❤️❤️.5

Absolutely amazing story and writing. So much packed in just 100 or so pages. I am not normally a fan of historical tales. It feels too much like learning to me...but this really was good!!! And I probably did learn something! Win/win!!!

I have always loved to read historical fiction, and I was so eager and excited to sit down with Ted Persinger's Manor (part of Aleatha Romig's Infidelity World on Kindle World) on my Kindle. I devoured this story so quickly - it is fabulous! What a unique take on the Infidelity series, giving us a prequel of sorts, dating back to Civil War times. I absolutely fell in love with Sarah; I felt her pain and heartache, her desires, her kindness and most importantly her strength and bravery under less than ideal circumstances. And General Bradley instantly captured my heart with his charm, good looks, and willingness to help Sarah even in difficult times. I honestly did not want this book to end, I was so wrapped up in their situation and that of the country around them. And the romance; heartache, desire, lust and love are all written into this beautiful story in just the right way, I had tears on more than one occasion. Both happy and sad.

This author has done an incredible job with this historical piece. The description, dialogue and tone of the story is all written beautifully and flawlessly. I'd love to see beyond the ending, to know more details about the years post-war. Perhaps another novella? I so highly recommend this book, even if you've never read historical fiction or think you won't enjoy it. Because believe me, you will. Ted Persinger has gained a new fan and I am eager to read more of his work. Thank you for bringing this story and this generation of characters to life.

If you love the Infidelity series by Aleatha Romig then you'll love this World novella by Ted Persinger. In it he imagines the world of Montague Manor in its origins and there's a steamy love story within it. Sarah is the kind of heroine we can all root for. Without adding any spoilers, this novella is definitely one you don't want to miss. History, intrigue, love, sex... all the ingredients for a good yarn.

Montague Manor, the American civil war, a strong heroine in Sarah, forbidden love, compassion and friendship as well as hardship. Only complaint that it was a novella and not a full length novel. Transports you to the heat of Savannah in a time of great historical importance, interesting and well worth four stars

This was a great historical piece of how the Montagues survived the civil war and what happened to Sarah while her older husband, the “Colonel”, went to war. How young Sarah made her way during the hardships the South went through was horrific at times plus she has Northern soldiers with General Bradley taking over her household. I felt like I was right in that time with her and applaud her ingenuity during that tragic period. I did have a bit of trouble with the timeline jumping in the story but mostly could figure out what was going on. I loved the twist in the end and that she was reunited with her best friend.

I am not a fan of very many historical period books; however, this story The Manor was about Sarah, the woman who now I have the greatest respect for. She was a soldier, warrior in a time when women were meant to be quiet and not seen. She was a leader and a strength, while also being a victim of her own circumstances. I thoroughly enjoyed this body of work. It opened the windows and doors of the Montague Manor, giving us a sneak peak of where it all started. The women of Montague may seem weak, but they are the TRUE backbone. This book showed us who's boss!

Manor is amazing!!! I'm not a big historical romance reader but Ted had me hooked after the first chapter. A book based in the 1800's when arranged marriages were still a thing and the war between the North and South was strong, a woman rises above it all. Strong and determined she fights set free those who can't fight for themselves. Sarah is amazing. Manor has love, sex, and intrigue. What more would you want?

Dive into the past and meet Sarah Montague at Montague Manor.
Taking you all the back to the slave trade and the Civil War, Sarah's life is anything but perfect. Sold as a bride at the age of 15 Sarah is thrust into a life she DOES NOT want.
Left at 17 to manage a plantation, she knows nothing about, while her husband is at war.
Years go by with hardly a word from her husband, Sarah falls for a man she never saw coming...Owen
An enemy soldier she knows she must keep her distant but, these are all knew feelings for Sarah, ones she's never had for her husband.
Does Sarah give in? Does she let love enter?
I couldn't put this down. Sarah is a force to be reckoned with but all in all my heart breaks for her. I cried for this book to give her the love she needs in her life and i guess in way it did. :) Add it to your TBR!! And get this one when it comes out!

Loved this story. Women during the Civil War were true heroes. Fighters. Survivors. True depiction of the time, history lesson, and love story all in one. I also love that she shipped all her workers North because, yeah...life after the war was WAY worse for slaves. This is a story that is brushed under rug but post-war in the South was a horrific time. Thanks for writing about this woman's bravery because real life Sarah's did exist.

This book is written as part of the Infidelity world, based on the Infidelity series by Aleatha Romig.

Can you remember this line from Betrayal where Alex is describing the Manor...

'Where others see beauty, I saw a prison and loss of Innocence'

Ted goes back in time to the 1860's where a young Sarah Montague has been left to manage the Cotton and Tobacco harvests at Montague whilst her husband fights in the American Civil war.
Being decades younger than her husband Sarah has never really took much notice of her workers before, when she discovers hungry, poorly clothed slaves that have been repeatedly whipped she is adamant she's is going to make a difference to their lives.
When union officers come and reside in the Manor Sarah befriends General Bradley a man haunted by war.
Throughout reading my thoughts kept going back to Aleatha's sentence in Betrayal, in this book we discover more about the darkness of Montague Manor.
I really can't recommend this book enough, it was beautifully written, perfectly paced and the storyline was captivating.

Love this cover it makes you think of the secrets behind the door i really like that

Cute backstory I would not say I am a lover or a hater of stories of war and old times but they are interesting even the fiction ones this one gives you some of the backstories to Montague Manor which is pretty cool there is a lot of desperate times call for desperate measures and Sarah's heart sure is in the right place good read well wrote

I didn't like Sarah's husband he seemed too evil for my liking but I would have Owen so he can be my book boyfriend just not sure I would claim him for a husband though he is a good man :)

The setting of this book is Montague Manor from the Infidelity series but this happens long before the Montague family we know. This is set in the past and I could not be happier, 1860s in the South is the setting of another favorite of mine Gone With the Wind!!!
Our heroine has a strength that is remarkable in her young age.
I loved her!
She stood tall in her beliefs and went against everything the people of her time and region told her.
I loved her!
This was a fantastic story of strength, love and freedom.
I loved it!

Manor (Infidelity Kindle World)
By: Ted Persinger
5/5 stars

This book is set in Aleatha Romig’s Infidelity world. You don’t have to have read the Infidelity series to understand this book, or any of the other Infidelity Kindle World novellas. This is a story about survival, doing what’s right and a woman’s strength.

This is a historical romance and a prequel to the Infidelity series, set in the 1800s during the Civil War. Sarah Montague, the second wife to the elderly Colonel Montague is left at home when her husband is recalled to his Confederate Army commission during the Civil War. She learns many of the ins and outs of running a plantation, with slaves. The more she learns, the more she wants to change and not run her plantation like other owners. But she has to make many changes, of which she is unafraid and charges forward.

When the US Army breaches the South and takes over towns and houses, Montague Manor is commissioned for use by a Union General who invaded Savannah. He is a dark and mysterious man, who is obviously haunted by something drastic in his past. But there are sparks between the two, even though they are both determined to keep their budding friendship/relationship completely platonic.

Manor by Ted Persinger is one of the stories in the Infidelity world following the Infidelity series by Aleatha Romig. Let me tell you, I LOVED this story. I haven't read a historical romance in a very long time and I can say that I have never liked one quite as much as I like this book. I think that the look into the past of Montague Manor was a great idea, and it showed that not all family lines are quite perfect. I really felt for Sarah and I connected with her which really helped me to love this story. If walls could talk, I think they would tell us some stories such as this one. Thank you for letting me read this story.

Title: Manor
Author: Ted Persinger

3 adorable stars

As part of Altea Romig's Infidelity series, I read Manor by Ted Persinger and wasn't quite sure what to do with the story. Maybe the fact that I hadn't read the original series beforehand had an impact on how I perceived this story, or maybe it was the fact that it seemed as though I was missing some important clues as to why Manor was so crucial, either way, it simply didn't resonate as well as I would have hoped. Set during the civil wars in the 1800s where General Lee and Tacumseh were fighting about the rights of owning a slave, on single woman dare to go behind the back of her husband while he fought in the war and made important changes in the way that she and the owned slaves were to live upon the land. Trying to stay afloat in an economy that sees runners killed for transporting goods and slaves escaping, this woman goes against the odds to make the lives of the men, women and children better, hoping that the war wouldn't affect them too badly.
While i didn't get too deep in the story, which could be in part my fault, Ted Persinger has an amazing talent at writing a story that so many know and giving it a new twist, where the often pushed aside rise above and beyond what nay one could have ever expected them to.

Fans of the Infidelity series by Aleatha Romig will love Manor by Ted Persinger. The comparisons of the heroine, Sarah Montague (1860s), to Adelaide Montague Collins Fitzgerald (current day) are subtle yet striking. Both perform their family duties and each finds the strength and courage to grab happiness for themselves and their loved ones. Although Sarah comes to her much sooner and in more dangerous times than Adelaide.
Manor captures the struggles of the human heart while providing vivid descriptions of the destruction of the Confederate South. Ted Persinger does a wonderful job of relating the family ancestry while maintaining historical integrity. I highly recommend this book.

Aww No I was rooting for General Charlie Owen Bradley.

Sarah Montague her husband is off to lead in the civil war. As her husband is off to fight. She now left to fight for her life and the life of her slaves who are more like family.

She found out how her slaves where really treated. How much it took to work the fields and pick the cotton and dry and hang tobacco. She gave back to them what they gave to her. Friendship family and freedom.

She never expected to find love in an ugly war and against the other side. A love that never got to bloom. But also gave birth to a few Sarah found how strong of a woman she was. Sallie found freedom along with the rest of slaves.

The South lost and Sarah lost a husband and lover but gained a son.

I LOVED this story! I've always been a fan of historical romance and one set in Aleatha's Infidelity world? That's a match made in heaven!
Sarah was epitome of grace. Her kindness and strength carried her through the difficult Civil War. Let with only her workers, she ran Montague Manor with a kind heart and warm embrace. General Bradley pulled at my heart. He was so troubled. So tortured. They were just what the other needed in a time that tore the entire country apart.
Their story is so well written I couldn't put it down. I really wish this would have been a full length novel. Even those that don't normally read historical romance will get swept away in this story.

I love the historical account during the civil war and its unforgettable characters. While it was not an HEA, it imparted a positive note at the end of the story.
