Step back from the overload this New Year and find some time for yourself . You are important too. With encouraging reminders, inspiring thoughts, easy wins and practical advice, The Little Book of Self Care will help you identify your needs so you can relax, refuel and find calm in your hectic life. This book will tell you why mindset is key, how to nourish instead of punish yourself, how to exercise and sleep and why it is important to go slow sometimes. You live your whole life being you, so why not be your own best friend?
Beautifuk book! For me, a person who has been through a lot of self-development, this book represented a cute overview of the basic thoughts of loving your soul, body and life in general. However, some of the thoughts and ideas still surprised me, maybe even moved me a little. Beautiful illustrations (at least in the Czech version of this book) are making me smile too. Really recommend even to those of you who have not read any self-development/self-love/self-care books and would like to find out if it could be something you could enjoy.
This compact book is divided into three sections: mind, body and life. It starts with a disclaimer on mental health and then jumps into topics such as being self-critical and self-care.
The book also includes some worksheets in the back plus more you can download from the author's website. While the book contains some prettily decorated quotes that are nice, most of what is included in this book is not new. I would hardly dare to even call it self-care. Tips like to take care of your mind you should listen to music and to take care of your body you should get off the bus a stop early and walk home.
IMHO people looking for more information on self-care already know these things. This book is best suited for those not looking for self-care, but too stubborn to even accept basic concepts, such as if you think positive then you are more likely to have positive outcomes.
Throw this book on the "self-help" couch and check out some more useful self-care books instead.
Brilliant! Written in such a simple style that everything easily makes sense & easily convinces you that its possible. This is my all time favourite self help book & will be one that I go back to again & again. Just wonderful!
Most of the suggestions are useful yet vague as they don't go deep to the root of the problems you may be facing. It's more of a good sample of things you can do to improve your life overall. But I think if you're rock bottom you will need something more substantial.
There is slot of advice on changing habitus. But, this one tries to change the way you think first. I read right through it and it's changing my ting for the better.
I particularly liked the financial side of things and to take care of your finances is a reflection of yourself. Really liked the wheel of life. A lot of good advice in the book I’m general. Thank you.
Pretty good - lots of common sense advice (which is not a criticism - I do know this stuff but need reminders that some of these things actually help), well written.
Really liked this - easy to read, common sense approach with good advice. Seemed more approachable & easier to put into practice then some of the more weightier tones out there.
