The cold, the wildlife, the environment, and the distance all challenge its residents; the addition of zombies to the mix just ups the ante. I try to introduce the elements without being too heavy handed about it. Alaskans typically take things as they come with regard to those environmental challenges, so the growing cold, the gathering darkness, and even zombies are, after certain adjustments, taken in stride. It’s just part of the survival mentality of the Last Frontier."

Fyre was a great story, totally different from what I expected because I expected a dystopian story of humans fighting humans. It's not that at all but I can't say more without giving the story away.
The story was original but it lacked some oomph and I wanted to love the charachters but I never really connected with them. I didn't even cry when some of them died.
I had high hopes for this book because I loved, loved, loved Schubert's Alaskan Undead Apocalypse series and was hoping for another brilliant story. I did like Fyre and enjoyed reading it. But sadly it isn't at the same level as the Alaskan Undead Apocalypse.
