Justice for the SEAL by Amy Gamet
HERO Force #5

Logan O’Malley “Doc” has been told something that shakes his trust in the company he works for. As he is contemplating the future while talking to one of his employers an explosion occurs that pushes him into staying on the team. After making a connection during what was supposed to be a one-night-stand he finds out that Gemma Faraday is a justice and their relationship might impact an upcoming case against his employers - the owners of HERO. While Gemma worries about whether or not to recuse herself and Logan wonders how to convince Gemma there could be more than a one night stand for the two of them the bad guys do their worst blowing things up, making trouble, hurting people and doing what bad guys do. There are a few twists and turns in the story and some soul searching to be done before Logan and Gemma can get to their HEA. This was an easy to read fast-paced story that kept me entertained today. Not my favorite of the HERO series but a fine story all in all.

Thank you to the Author for the copy – This is my honest review.

Logan O'Malley has found out that Jax and Cowboy are accused of being responsible for the death of one of their own. An original member of HERO force Garrison Cole. They are being sued for wrongful death and Logan is hating himself for the blind faith he put in his employers. He believes they're guilty and he's expected to protect the judge who dismissed the criminal charges against them originally. He has a decision to make and he's in a bar across from HERO force headquarters where the judge, Royce, is meeting with Jax.

We meet Gemma Faraday as she visits her father who has dementia, she visits regularly and watches the news with him. She's mostly ignoring it until she hears the report of the car bombing and the mistake they made on the victim. It was Royce's wife, not Royce. Royce who she had an affair with, said he loved her, broke her heart. Then they report he's been kidnapped.

Gemma is also a judge and she gets back to her chambers and is processing all she just learned. Her best friend April shows up and convinces her to go out with her. On the way they stop where the bombing occurred. Logan sees them and wonders who they are and what their relationship to Royce is. He follows them to the bar, he needs to see the face of the woman who was crying.

When he does, he feels an immediate attraction to her, he has to put it aside and do his job. That control he thought he had vanished, and he has a one-night stand with her, but he wants more. Plus, he still doesn't know who she is to Royce.

Gemma gets on with her court docket and realizes the organization Logan works for is on her list of assigned cases. She'll have to recuse herself. That's the idea anyway, until she's accosted on her way home.

Logan has Royce's laptop to go through, they are going on the assumption that his abduction has something to do with the HERO force case but will leave no stone unturned. He's taking it home since there are so many emails to go through, and he's surprised to find Gemma there, in tears, waiting for him.

Protecting Gemma and finding Royce are now connected they just don't know how.

I love the way this story unfolds, there is intrigue, action, suspense, romance and sizzle throughout this book.

I am already reading the next one in this series.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a review.

An older woman, a younger man, a romance and a mystery all combine to grab your attention and hold it through the story. The reader also gets to touch base with the other HERO Force team members who have smaller roles in this story.
An exploding bomb in front of HERO headquarters that targeted one of their clients has several team members scrambling to discover who is behind the plot. In the meanwhile, two Force team members are facing charges concerning the death of one of their own years earlier. Are the two cases connected?
When Logan O'Malley's sees two women standing at the site of the bombing, his attention goes on high alert, so he follows them. He is instantly taken by Gemma and despite knowing that she might have some kind of involvement with the investigation, Logan can’t seem to resist the sexy older woman. Gemma has had her share of grief and regrets in life, but a chance encounter with Logan quickly turns to lust.
The suspense will draw the reader into the story and keep them reading.
I personally think the sexual encounter happened to soon into the story. I would have liked to see Logan and Gemma develop more as a couple before becoming intimate. It does not take away from the story, but it is simple my opinion.

have to confess that after the firsts few pages of reading the story I was turned off by 2 things: one, having sex with a total stranger, and secondly , the female protagonist was 43 and the male 30. But, then I realized that one, this was totally a subjective view on my part and two, it was a story written by a talented author, so I needed to put my personal believes aside and enjoy the book. So, I did.
It was well written and since the book is not very long, the story moved fairly quickly. Though it’s a stand alone, if you have read the previous books, you will be re-visiting Cowboy, Jax and Logan, whose story this is. You will also get more insight about the trial mentioned in previous books .
The story was filled with suspense, whodunit , bombs, bad guys, hunky ex- military guys and of course romance.
My only other observation was that there was a big jump of time between chapters 31 and 32 that would have benefited with more information between the two time periods.
All in all, an entertaining story. I felt it was more of a 3.5 stars story, but I have a great deal of respect for the author, so I gave it a 4 star.
I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Logan has been one of my favorite HEROs from the very beginning and I'm so glad to finally get to read his story. I am completely in love with this series. I'm not sure how it happens, but the stories just keep getting better with each book. This story hooked me and wouldn't let go and that meant I had to read it in a single sitting. This was a fairly quick, easy read but there's a lot of story packed between the covers. Lust, intrigue, love, a whole bunch of secrets and lies, and let's not forget the explosions and gunfights; this book has it all. Gemma's probably one of my favorite heroine's in the series, along with Logan's sister Charlotte. I adore the fact that she's a "woman of a certain age". Being in a similar age bracket, it's really nice to read a female lead that I can relate to. And I can most definitely relate to her fears and insecurities. I loved watching Logan take charge and step out from behind his keyboard. The way he completely worships Gemma has put him at the top of my best book-boyfriends list. Swoon! I can't wait to meet the next women capable of taming a member of HERO Force.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.

Justice for the SEAL
Series: H.E.R.O. Force #5
by Amy Gamet
Narrated by Janelle Tedesco

H.E.R.O. Force is keeping me on the edge of my seat! This one is action packed, full of romance and steam and kept me guessing til the end. Picking up at the end of Married to the Seal, we know there is a secret, and Logan is not sure this is the place for him, but circumstances are keeping him there. He meets Gemma, and a clear connection is made with this older woman. He later finds out she is the judge on a case involving his teammates. Things are getting dangerous, not only for the men, but for Gemma! Will they find out who is behind the danger? Will Gemma and Logan find happiness? And will all of H.E.R.O. Force survive? This is a thrilling episode in this series, a lot of twists and turns, and a romance that is not only loving but a burn to keep your heart beating!

Janelle Tedesco continues her narration of this series. Her voice is this team, and she is tuned into their story. She conveys their strength and their vulnerability, bringing all the team members back, a couple of their wives and new characters to keep you on your toes. It's a great listen for all romantic suspense lovers!

Another huge hit by Amy Gamet! I have thoroughly enjoyed the HERO Force books. This is Logan and Gemma's story.

One night with an older woman and now Logan can't get her out of his mind. The next day he is stunned to witness the murder of someone directly connected to an investigation of two of his HERO partners. And when it turns out that Gemma is also directly connected, Logan no longer knows who he can trust.

After a night involving too much alcohol, Gemma makes a rash decision when a handsome younger man shows interest in her. When she realizes his connection to a case of hers everything around her begins to unravel and she doesn't know who to trust. When someone from her past comes looking for revenge her career and her very life will be on the line.

My only wish was that the final details of Gemma and Logan's love story would not have been so left to our imagination. I would have preferred the author had filled in a little more detail before suddenly jumping to the epilogue portion of the story.

This was not my favorite. For me the age Gap was too large and was a turn off. What I did like was the Breast Cancer awareness throughout this entire story! Kudos to this author for making it a focal point throughout. This is the fifth story by this new to he author I have read. Unfortunately, I wanted more for Logan. If the age Gap was three years then yes I would have loved it, but over 10 years was way too much for my preference.

Also, I was disappointed in the length of the story. For me these men deserve a longer and more complete at the end story.

I am hoping the next story redeems my thoughts.

I have to say I was really looking forward to Logan’s story and I just felt.... let down. It was like “what the hell!” I mean I felt the author put a bunch of crap together with no end plot but for Logan to go through some things but never search deep down for his feelings. I didn’t like Gemme part at all... no depth or mystery to her. The author had a great start but just rush through the book. It barely made the three star mark. I think I am done with series.

When Logan O’Malley learned his HERO Force leaders, Jax and Cowboy had feet of clay, he looked at their friend, Judge Anthony Royce with different eyes as well. Years ago, Garrison Cole, a teammate was killed in a training accident, Jax and Cowboy were accused and Royce had dismissed the case for lack of evidence. Royce’s car was bombed.

Judge Gemma Faraday was shocked to hear first the incorrect news reports and filled with guilt to learn the truth, Royce had been kidnapped and his wife killed in the bombing. Gemma’s affair with Royce was all the news at work. Drawn to the scene of the bombing, Logan overhears Gemma and a friend discuss Royce and follows them to a club. Logan’s interested in Gemma but she’s afraid of their age difference. By the end of the night, age is a number that doesn’t matter.

Having been assigned the case against Jax and Cowboy, someone, likely Cole’s brother, felt justice failed and Gemma’s attacked and threatened on the street. She runs to Logan for help and another steamy night. Realizing how involved she is with Logan and how involved they both are with the case is a worry that becomes worse when Gemma’s threatened on opening day of the court case.

I wasn't very discerning when I bought this book, it was free or cheap, so when I saw it was two hours something I thought, 'oh good, another pamphlet.' I was biased. I hadn't read any of the others in the series so I had no investment and the start didn't grab me.

Once I settled into it however, I found it fast paced and endearing. It was a love at first sight scenario which are always hard to believe but I did like the females despair at the lack of any future together because of her age and medical history.

The best part about the book was the humour. I was giggling at the minecraft part and Cowboy was a hoot. For this reason I gave it four stars instead of three.

Otherwise it was unbelievable entertainment with little description, a bit like reading flash cards. I can understand why some love it and others leave it. From me I'd say, if you can get it cheap and have a couple of hours free then give it a whirl.

In the blink of an eye Logan O'Malley's peace of mind explodes and the concussion of the blast shatters his confidence in his superiors as badly as it shatters the glass in the buildings around him. The H.E.R.O Force team he's a member of has just witnessed the death of their newest client, a Judge who came to them for protection from death threats and you could say this romantic suspense starts off with a real bang. This high energy storyline packs a lot of punch with fast paced action, a tangled weave of secrets and lies and a vendetta that threatens Logan, his team and the sexy older woman who needs his protection as much as she craves his affection. The younger man/mature woman relationship in this book was a really nice change of pace and I thought it was very sexy. I read a complimentary copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

This is a suspenseful and captivating story with an intriguing storyline and interesting characters. Logan is smart, sweet but tough and engaging. Gemma is a strong, independent survivor. Logan finds himself completely smitten with Gemma when he follows her to a bar. Gemma wants to have meaningless sex, and Logan is offering. He wants to date, she thinks that she's too old for him. Fate ends up throwing them together, but Gemma keeps resisting, until her life is threatened. The twists in the story are intense. The one thing that I didn't like was that certain scenes that were major to me, and I looked forward to, didn't happen. That was disappointing, but the book is still great.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

The Cougar

With Cowboy and Jax being investigated for wrongful homicide, Logan is seriously considering leaving Hero Force. After meeting with the judge who is being investigated also, Logan witnesses the judge's car exploding with his wife inside.

Gemma is the presiding judge involving the man she had an affair with. Had she known he was married, it never would have happened.

After the devastation of the car bombing, Gemma is dragged out for drinks by her best friend. She throws caution to the wind and picks up a guy who is extremely younger, Logan.

Twists and turns with danger at every turn ~

New Kid on the block, Logan O'Malley, is faced with an almost impossible truth. The people that he looked up to and had the most respect for are under investigation and it looks as if they may well be guilty. However, in this fast-paced and highly suspenseful novel, nothing is as it seems. A seemingly accidental meeting between Gemma ad Logan is, in fact, well-orchestrated, but when Gemma comes under threat she knows that the only person she can turn to is the sexy, younger man she slept with. This plot is well thought out and kept me in suspense throughout, right up to the twist in the tale at the end. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I purchased a copy of the steamy postmilitary suspense romance Justice for the Seal in the Hero Force Boxset Books 1-8 by Amy Gamet, and this review was given freely.
Full of violence and suspense, this is an ironic and twisted drama-packed novel of revenge, blackmail, and love.
Disillusioned after learning about Jax and Cowboy’s lawsuit for killing their Hero Force teammate Garrsion Cole, Logan finds himself privy to an interesting conversation and in bed with a woman who just happens to be the judge for the case and a prior mistress for the missing State Justice Anthony Royce.
18+ for intimate scenes, violence.

Love the Hero force books and this one was another winner. Logan was a great character who I really enjoyed along with Gemma. The action was great and the chemistry between the two was hot. Gemma was a survivor and was likeable in many ways although she resisted being with Logan in a relationship. I really enjoyed seeing more of the characters from previous books and had some questions answered along the way. The story was well done with great descriptions and a wonderful storyline with a HEA and can be read alone. Can't wait for the next book!!

This is a book 5 in the H.E.R.O. Force series and it features H.E.R.O. Force member Logan O'Malley and Judge Gemma Faraday.  This is a fantastic story line with superb action from cover to cover. Gemma was amazing!  All she's been through and what she survived and she still has enough confidence to go after a sexy younger man. You go girl!  And Logan?  He's amazing, super smart and he's everything Gemma deserves.

This is my favorite book in the series so far. The ending was so unexpected!  I can't wait to read more of this fabulous series.

Doc finds that his one night stand my be able to end his career for the rest of his life. H.E.R.O. force comes under fire. Justice becomes involved in determining the fate of the heroes we have come to love. But with that justice comes the chance that it may all end and not on a good note.

Gemma finds that her one-nighter may be more than she can handle. She has some hard choices to make and they may just impact her more than she could possibly deal with.

This was a face paced read that lead us on an action packed intensity filled fight for H.E.R.O. Force and Doc and Gemma.

Solid age gap with a twist

Normally the age gap stories I see are older man and younger woman. This story flipped that with an older successful woman and a younger successful man. The crime and case element was intriguing and had an interesting spin to the backstory that we found at the end. The kidnapper/bomber was well developed, but predictable about mid way through the story. Great seeing the action and romance blend together with the team dynamics and events. Good read and series!

I received this free e-book from Instafreebie and I am voluntarily writing an honest review. I love reading this series and I must admit I was a little leery about Gemma and Logan having sex within minutes of meeting( I cannot remember if they even exchanged names first) but was rewarded with a great read when I continued. This book pushes the buttons and limits of the reader on traditional roles and sense of justice.

Logan and Gemma meet and act on their desire very quickly.

It gets complicated when they learn more about each other but he is determined to get her to give him a chance.

I really enjoyed this fast paced read. You have a fun older woman/younger man dynamic that keeps the story exciting. I liked both of the characters and thought they made a great couple.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

Fun read with some intrigue

This was a fun, somewhat quick read with some interesting plot twists. The older woman/younger man dynamic was a nice change up and Gemma’s back story added some extra elements to challenge Logan. This was the 2nd book in the series I’ve read and I don’t feel like I lost much, if anything, by not having read the books in between. I now have the other books on my TBR list though.

5 stars for Justice for the Seal by Amy Gamet

Another great read for an amazing series. These seals are such characters. It's such a great storyline with suspense. Did not see the ending coming with that judge. Love that Logan is the younger man and that Gemma had a few things to work through. Both are hot and sexy and they make a beautiful couple. Can't wait for the next installment of HERO Force.series.

I received a free book and voluntarily chose to review it. Gemma is my strong woman in this book. Although some of her strongness (and yes, I know that's not a word) comes from not doing things that might cause problems. This book is a romance and a “on your seat” suspense. Almost every page kept me wondering what’s going to happen next.

The characters have become good friends and the new characters work their way in seamlessly. A wonderful story and most Highly Recommended

Crazy good.

I loved this book. I also am a breast cancer survivor along with 2 of my sisters. All of us have loving wonderful husbands. But it is a thought occasionally that having bilateral mastectomies makes you less..however the love of your spouse makes it easier. The character Logan is a keeper for sure.
