Annabel and Derrick are a delightful couple that balance each other and appreciate the strengths and weaknesses in each other. Annabel is caring and has the life experience to be able to "handle" the strong, protective Derrick. She is not afraid to get her hands dirty, but has the eye of an artist. Derrick likes that Annabel is no wilting flower and he is looking forward to their life together.
Once again Ms. Deliecki delivers strong characters, intrigue and sprinkles of humor. This was a pleasant visit with some old friends and a couple of fiends that also serves to bridge to more stories, adventure and intrigue. A WEDDING CODE helped to bring down a villain we have disliked from the start of the series. While it did not eliminate him, I think it has made him more dangerous, which from this reader's standpoint is fantastic- oh the havoc he can wreak! Ms. Delecki has the ability to weave this villain into fabulous stories that have never disappointed. We have also been given a glimpse into a new future romance. I look forward to seeing where Ms. Delecki takes us in this series, the loose ends have me wringing my hands in anticipated glee!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Upcoming wedding of Amelia and Derrick, get sidetracked with enemies from France. Which includes spying and brings danger to the Rathbourne family. The families involved are spy’s and code breakers. Interesting plot of history, not so much of a romance.
Amelia and Derrick’s wedding plans are marred by frightening French plots against England and their dearest friends. An entertaining tale with wonderful characters.
Sightly confusing story. Was it a story of love? Was it about birthing? Was it the balsamic war? Was to some other theme? All these were elements none were the focus
After several pages into the book it seems to me as if one needed to read the first books of the series to get an understanding of the situation. There are a lot of people thrown at the reader, referred to sometimes by their first name, last name, or title, which triples the number of people to keep track of - I was lost.

My Thoughts: This novella is part of the Code Breaker series and one I am happy I didn't miss. A wedding, a woman on the verge of giving birth and a planned abduction make up this short read. Who are the sculpted that plan to steal the baby and what is their motive? It isn't Amelia's place to meddle in spy activities and Derrick intends to keep her safe while solving the mystery and keeping the Wedding from becoming a disaster. I enjoyed this quick read and gave it 4.25 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization. There is not an actual intimate nature to this short story. It like the others in this series is based on suspense with a dash of romance. I received a complimentary digital copy of this book from the publisher to read and review. This in no way affected my opinion of this title which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
I am sure that if I had read the earlier books in the series, this short novella would have been a better fit for me.
I read the blurb and believed it.
Amelia is a fashion maven. She has a reputation for doing everything perfectly. Now she is supposed to marry Derrick in two days and she is busy putting all her ideas together to create the perfect wedding.
Then, her best friend goes into labor, a young boy goes missing, two spies are discovered in a household.
There were too many things happening.
I believe that if I were more familiar with characters, there would have been more enjoyment for me. It was difficult for me to fit characters into the story and their relationships.
Amelia is an absolute paragon. Derrick is heroic. They are in love with one another. It is evident they will live happily ever after...if they survive.
The writing is well done. The characters are entertaining with depth.
I wanted to fall in love with the story. I am a sucker for people who are working hard in defense of their country. For me it was an entertaining short read.
“The Wedding Code” by Jacki Delecki is the 5th and final book in the Code Breakers Series. I’m honestly not sure how I feel about this story. It felt like it could have been added onto book 4 in the series instead of its own book. The setting of the story is Miss Amelia Bonnington’s upcoming wedding to Lord Derrick Brinsley. This didn’t have much romance in it. Mostly the story is one of spying and intrigue. Enemies in France want to get revenge against the Rathbourne family and bring danger and intrigue into the household. On the whole it is a well told story; however, it is not a standalone. I do recommend the entire series.
Derrick and Amelia are getting married. But just a few days away from the wedding her best friend, Hen, begins her labor. She has a difficult and long delivery because the baby is so big. The French enemy, Piedmont, has orders to kidnap the baby. He plans to do so on the evening of Amelia's wedding. Derrick refers to him as Pisspot. Very appropriate. But Derrick is a spy for the crown and Amelia has done some spying herself so they stop Pisspot and have him arrested. Not having read the book before this one I felt a little short changed on knowing the characters backgrounds. But still a great read.
Amelia is getting married and being the fashion expert she is, wants the wedding to be perfect. Her bride groom-to-be works undercover to keep the Crown safe. It is time for the wedding and there is a kidnapping planned on the evening after the wedding. Amelia's best friend's brother has overheard the plot. Can the men keep the wedding on schedule and proceeding as if nothing happened and at the same time catch the bad guys? Will keep you wondering who the French kidnappers are and could they be sent by Fouche.
T his book is part of a series. It is set in regentcy England . They are on high alert waiting to break the French codes to discover Napolean 's plan to invade and attack. There is suspense and intrigue and a wedding and a child birth all intertwined and a kidnapping foiled. Story is well written as a quick one night read. I would recommend this book for age 15 onward.
I have been a huge fan of this series and while I enjoyed revisiting many of the characters from previous books, this was heavier on the intrigue and spies than romance. I think I would have liked stepping back a little, even if it overlapped the previous story to get a little more romance for this couple.
It’s not a really long book, but it feels like there’s a lot going on in it, with several interconnected plots and intrigues. I really liked that, even though this book focuses on Derrick and Amelia’s wedding, all of the characters we’d been introduced to previously have important parts to play in this story. I’m looking forward to seeing where this series takes us next.
Beautifully written love story, with a great story line , wonderful characters to fall in love with, excitment on every page, with, kidnapping of a younger brother ,and a plot to kidnap a baby An assassin, to be caught, and a wedding. ❤
I don't know if it's just because I had such a connection to a previously read book, or if I just am not in the mood for a novel such as this one- but I did not feel the pull to this novel that I normally do when I am reading a new novel. I will definitely have to try again later.
This is another amazing story in a brilliant series. The plot is full of suspense and emotional intrigue. The characters are wonderfully crafted with great strength and determination, to achieve their goals. This is a brilliant book for anybody who loves steamy historical romances, that have a bit of mystery.
I enjoyed this book. The characters were smashing, the story interesting and full of intrigue. There was plenty of action and it seemed as though every page had a new threat or difficulties to overcome. The ending was endearing.
Loved the characters and the intriguing plot. The history of impending war between Britain and France. I have read some of the earlier books and am looking forward to reading more.
Another enjoyable adventure with the saviours of England. Amelia and Derrick’s wedding continues despite various plots surrounding them. The intrigue continues in this delightful tale. Interesting characters and events. I love how all these stories are woven together so well.
The plot and intrigue is woven beautifully into the romance. There's enough of both, but neither are overdone. I'm enjoying The Code Breakers series and look forward to the next book.
Great prologue and beginning that went downhill by the end of the story. Everything was too easy and someone who was claimed to be ruthless in prologue ended up looking like a joker.
Amelia is looking forward to her wedding to Derrick when strange things start happening. A baby is born, a child goes missing, a treat to the newborn all causing havoc for the wedding.
