Drones by Freighter. I found this book via another reviewer and she had given it a good wrap. The Dashwood family come together over a short period of time, even with the help of a drone who was quite the sentient being. Their daily tasks are filled with finding food without the Octacions finding them. Everyone seems to find their niche, including 2 cooks. The tension ramps up when they have to negotiate their way around the hospital, especially when the protagonist is shot by a soldier. A good yarn.
