Adam Fassbender is an experienced leather dom living in San Francisco, but there's something missing from his life, a permanent slave. When he meets a police officer who's curious about submission, Adam realizes that Riley might be the slave he's been looking for. But can Adam teach Riley how to overcome his fear of submission and help him become the slave Riley craves being? Author's This is a novel describing a BDSM relationship. It graphically describes sado-masochistic gay sex with an emphasis on domination, submission, verbal abuse, and humiliation. If such content offends you, you shouldn't purchase this.
This was a very interesting read. A bdsm book from the dom’s viewpoint. One thing I loved about this book was how much Adam reminded me of the real leather doms I know. Although I usually enjoy reading a book from the subs point of view this was probably one of the truest representations of the bdsm life I’ve read.
A down-to-earth telling of a larger-than-life relationship. Leather God Descending explores the thoughts, desires, and doubts of a BDSM Master, in a style rarely scene in the genre. Experienced Master Adam and fledgling slave Riley have a dynamic that at once separates and entwines them in equal measure, and both find that they have much to learn about themselves and each other with every step they take. Throughout the book, the entity of the "Leather God" manifests in Adam as any one of a myriad of feelings and sensations - his confidence, his power, and his deep love for his slaves among them.
Hadrian Temple's erotic tale from the perspective of the dominant partner strikes nerves and scratches itches we don't often realize we have. In the dominant soul, it shows that being eternally stoic and immovable isn't realistic. In the submissive spirit, we see that our masters have as many fears and doubts as we do, eager to please and be pleased at the same time. The story instills a humanity in the bodice-ripper hero, the dark knight we long for, and brings him down to our level as much as it exalts him.
All in all, an excellent read, appealing to the hardcore, the vanilla, and the newly initiated in different ways.
This was a very interesting read and also educational. Written by an actual Dom, the story is from a Dom's perspective. I enjoyed the fact that the Dom wasn't perfect; he's as much human as the rest of us, with feelings and insecurities. Mistakes do happen. What this story shows are those mistakes and how they are handled. They are not forgotten about at all.
I've read many stories that show the Dom as practically perfect in every way, handsome, rich, and has all the shiny toys anyone could ever dream of. Good stories, yes, but they lack the real human feel of a Dom. This story showcases the Dom as being human, not a God.
The author knows completely about what he has written. He knows the real truth about this world. It's a real breath of fresh air to read a story that feels real. I love reading about the inner turmoil characters go through.
A book written by a real Dom about BDSM from a Dom's perspective, it's different which is why I decided to read it. Usually it's books with shared viewpoints, a bit from both sides of the dynamic, here it's all from Adam's point of view. And he isn't perfect by any means, doubting of his own abilities except when he is taking care of his subs. Skilful and there's a special kind of connection in what they do.
While I liked reading about it all, how inventive one could be without the need for a room full of toys to dominate someone, I did miss some of the more sweeter sides. More in dept about the times they were lounging and watching tv, I missed caresses. There's plenty of sex, admiration and hot scenes, I just wanted a bit tenderness in there too. I liked reading about Riley and Adam's disagreements on a daily basis, how he handled balancing the relationship and being in charge.
I wanted something deeper than what I was given, at times it felt like I was part of a TED talk with a demonstration and it took away some of the connections I wanted to feel with the characters. Which in turn made it take longer for me to get past Adam's lack of communication than it did Riley.
There is plenty of humour in the book, the musings of Adam throughout had me laughing out loud at several points, and my favourite points are their little spats about being tidy. I love a slave that chastise their Master while still being so respectful about it.
