Time's Arrow

A Time of Darkness #1

by Ash Gray

Neferre is a coarse, disgusting, slightly-alcoholic hunter who rescues a strange child in the dark depths of the swamp, only to discover the little girl is a legendary dragon slayer torn from the ancient past. Together with her friends, a half-giant and a snarky sorcerer, Neferre must return the girl to her original era before her ancient enemies can end her life. The journey becomes a real race against time when an ancient dragon bent on revenge decides it would be preferable if the child return to her time in little pieces.

This was an amazing fantasy tale with Dragons, Elvkarin, Giants, and others. This story pulled me in from the beginning and was hard to put down for even a minute. Neferre, "Cricket", Olorun, and Helianthus are on a mission to help Cricket go home. Friends and Enemies abound on their action packed journey. I am looking forward to continuing the journey with them in book 2!

I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.

Great story set in a world of not just humans but elves, giants and dragons. With well rounded, diverse characters and good action scenes this was a great start to the series. When someone starts messing with time how are they to be stopped? Join Neferre as she and a few friends try to find where Cricket comes from.

I received a free copy of this ebook from Authorsxp. This is my honest and freely given review.

I recieved this book for free thru an ARC, Advanced Review Copy with an honest review given.

I was not sure if I would like this book by the cover but once reading it soon found it was very well written and the characters were so life like.

Three misfits and a Cricket!

They were three travelers helping others for a meal. Saved a nameless child from certain death. Finally every persons life changes, and the child is given the name Cricket. Now all the adventures start. Off to my next Adventure.

This is a good start with lots of potential. Some pacing issues but overall I enjoyed the characters and the story and would read book 2 since I am interested enough to want to know some more.

A very interesting read. You really come to know Cricket, Neferre, and the others. It's so refreshing to see an elven character as brash and course as Neferre, and Cricket is a delight. I can't wait to get started on book 2!
