I so wanted to give this book 5 stars...I really and truly did! The story line is epic, the characters are deep and real, and the chemistry is absolutely insane! So why didn't it get that illustrious 5th star?
Alright, so in book one we learned about Lexie and Roxie. They met and at the very end of the book we find out that they aren't twins...they are triplets! Maxie logically picks up where book one left off, except from Maxie's POV.
Maxie is a small town girl-next-door type. She is shy, quiet, and as far from impulsive as a girl can get. She also has the hots for the newly appointed local Sheriff. (hehe Roxie calls him Sheriff Sexy ... and I think that fits perfectly!)
Zac...Mr. Sheriff Sexy himself, is an ex-undercover detective from Chicago looking for a calmer way to live. He finds that and more in the small town of Indigo Falls. He has lusted after Maxie from the flower shop since the moment he saw her at his welcome party.
Unfortunately, the day that Zac and Maxie both decide to take a step and say "Hi" to one another...Roxie and Lexie show up and throw things into crazy land! When Maxie's reaction to her new found sisters requires a knight in shinning armor...Zac steps up to the plate and prepares for the best undercover job of his life!
So far things sound awesome right? I would have to agree! At this point the book was a total 5 star-er for me! I was loving the story, the depth, the emotion, the sexual tension that was starting to bud...it was all amazing! The writing style just made things that much more enjoyable and kept me wanting more.
So where did it go wrong? If the humor was great...the romance was perfect and the new found sister side of things was a great mystery...why didn't I give it the 5 stars I wanted to?
Let's dig a bit deeper. So, the story line is flowing beautifully and the romance is absolutely amazing! The witty banter worked in is epic and of course with Roxie around you know it's plentiful! As the sisters get to know one another it is so much fun to watch their personalities grow and blend. Seeing them realize their similarities and differences and helping one another be the best version of themselves is charming and heart-warmingly sweet. While this book didn't give off the same massive emotional response that book one did...it still had me deep within it's grasp and kept pulling me under...
Until the names started getting mixed up! Somewhere around the 50% mark the sister's names were just thrown about randomly...I mean a scene would happen where one minute Zac is talking with Maxie and then kissing Lexie...I know this didn't happen in the story...it's just a typo...but it's biggie! I'm not sure if it's just the copy that I received or if the purchase versions of the book have the same errors. I typically don't take off stars for one or two typos...but this was an entire chapter of mixed up identities! it made the story difficult to read and some pretty major stuff was happening at the time!
So there you have it. The chemistry is HOT, HOT, HOT, the plot line is still unique and so interesting that I wanted to constantly have the book in my hand, the characters are raw and realistic and so relatable...all of that put together equals one awesome book! Even with the name issues, I still HIGHLY recommend this book and series. I cannot wait to get started on Roxie's story and find out who gets to compete with that! :D

Follow up to previous book in series Lexie and the first book should definitely be read first.
In the previous book, Lexie and Roxie discover they were born twins and were separated when they were about two years old. Lexie was adopted but Roxie grew up in the foster system. Both women were intensely curious about their birth parents and set out to find any information they could.
However instead of their birth parents, the discover that they were not really twins...but rather triplets.
Maxie lives in a small close-knit town and had a very happy childhood. Now her parents and grandmother are deceased and she is running s flower shop and silently pining for the sexy new sheriff in town. She is just about to make her move when instead of saying 'Hi" like she planned, she instead faints dead at his feet.
Lexie and Roxie, her identical sisters had just walked into her view.
One of the parts about reading the previous book was the scenes of Lexie and Roxie discovering each other. This one is no different. Maxie's reaction is priceless.
It also creates a very natural moment for Maxie to turn to Zach, the sexy sheriff whose protective instincts toward the pretty florist comes roaring alive.
This book didn't quite pack the emotional punch of the previous one, but it did deepen the characters that we'd previously met and made a good introduction to the third sister. The writer has made sure to give each sister very strong and definable personality traits that differentiate them from each other. Cleverly, the personalities feel like a logical blend of what could have been each woman's nature/nurture combo. Roxie's toughness and bravado are obviously traits honed by being in the foster system -- something you don't see in either Maxie or Lexie, but you get the sense that her generosity and capacity for love are things she was born with. Conversely, Maxie's reserve and shyness feel like pure personality. She lacks Roxie & Lexie's confidence even though of the three women her family life was the most settled and overtly loving.
The mystery of the girls' birth parents continue as they get a smallish clue to their identity.
I loved the scenes of the sisters getting to know more about each other. And I can't wait to get to Roxie's book and see what kind of hero she gets. If it is who I think it is, I don't know whether to be delighted or disturbed.

It’s better (infinitely) than its prequel-thank goodness! The irony is this is the one I got for free. I paid (fortunately not much) for the prequel on a whim.
Anyway, the hero in this book is a lot more respectful overall, of the heroine, than the hero of the first in the series. And, while there was plenty of sex, including some I just skimmed over, it didn’t take up such a high percentage of the overall content of the book.
Mostly this is a light, fluffy romance with little depth, but it was still engaging.

Sometimes I struggle to rate books that aren’t “literature.” At the same time, I don’t believe in “guilty pleasures.” I read to enjoy, and enjoy this, I did. It was engaging and I was rooting for the heroine the whole time. I was invested in the ending and will read the 3rd book to find out what happens.

"Maxie" is the second installment in the Triple X series. This time Roxie and Lexie go in search of their sister, Maxie. Maxie owns a florist shop in the small tourist town of Indigo Falls. She is shy and referred to as "timid" by the people who know her; yet, that has not stopped the new sheriff, Zac Ford from noticing how attractive she is. He parks in front of her florist shop each day hoping for ???????
Maxie notices Zac alright but she is too "timid" to do anything about it. However, when she goes out to water her plants and comes face to face with two identical versions of herself, she faints right into the arms of you guessed it! Now, not knowing if she can trust these two women who claim to be her sister, she secures Zac's assistance in keeping an eye on them while pretending to be his girlfriend. My, my, my.
This was another good read in the series. Once again my only complaint is the lack of depth due to the brevity. Also, with this read, the author really needs to update the cover. It doesn't quite mesh with the others and really looks outdated. However, as far as the series goes, I definitely recommend it.

This is a sweet small town romance with a delightfully silly and fun premise – a timid young woman discovers that not only is she adopted but she’s one of a set of identical triplets separated in their early childhood. It doesn't stop there, oh no, Maxie and Zac then fake being in a relationship for... reasons... while both secretly pining for each other.
Maxie is a sweet woman who’s frustrated by her own shyness and reluctance to do anything new, even though she secretly craves a bit of adventure. Adventure like the Sherriff Zac…
When fate/the surprise appearance of two clones of herself intervenes, she finds herself being bold and getting closer to him.
Sherriff Zac is equally adorable, he’s too shy to approach her at first and finds it difficult to communicate with her because of the amount of things she leaves unsaid, resulting in some classic miscommunication.
The story is low on conflict and high on sweet, sweet romance which is just what I needed!
I also loved the narrator’s voice in this audiobook, it's distinctive and held my attention, and between you and me... I'm hideously picky when it comes to romance narrators. Kurz read the POV of both Maxie and Zac, bringing them both to life with their own distinct voices – I’m definitely going to be adding her to the autobuy list.
I should note – this book is the second in a series, each of the sisters has her own book and it appears that the characters are developed along the way, with their own distinct personalities and very different back stories. I didn’t know this ahead of time but it works seamlessly as a standalone, though it leaves me wanting to read the rest of the series so I don’t miss anything.

Book 2 of the Triple X series continues the story from Lexie, where Lexie and Roxie meet. The discovery that the twins are in fact triplets, leads them to find Maxie, the third of the trio (who has no idea she is adopted). This is Maxie’s story.
It begins with her crippling shyness being slowly stripped away by the local sheriff who, after fancying her from a distance for months, finds himself agreeing to pretend to be her boyfriend, and eventually becomes her all-consuming love object. The discovery of her birth sisters, especially Roxie’s influence, also aids Maxie’s self-confidence and she truly blossoms. The character building in this book is quite impressive.
As with book 1 (Lexie) this is an enjoyable, rounded story – another one I would peg for reading on the beach on a lovely sunny afternoon – basically a romance with a bit more depth than normal. The characters of Lexie and Roxie are continually developed throughout this second novel and Sheriff Zac is a much better developed character than Cam in Book 1 (hotter too!). All in all this book is a delight and develops the back story of the triplet’s quest to find their birth parents (albeit slowly).
Obviously to find out if they do, or do not, discover the reasons why they were put up for adoption and eventually split up, I will have to read book 3 and that is exactly what I will be doing next.
As a footnote – I received this book as an audio book arc in return for an honest opinion so I can’t go without mentioning the narrator of this book – her voice acting was good, pronunciation clear and made the listening very easy on my ears. It was a very enjoyable listen. So thanks!

I liked the first book more ... but I liked this book too - and I liked it enough to want/need to know about their families and what the triplets find ... even though I was kinda meh on Roxie's book.
[I expect a lot of sullen stubborn "why do you look down on me and treat me this way" bitchery and misunderstanding, which 😒... so hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised.]
ANYWAY. Maxie and Zac.
Super cute together. SUPER cute.
Maxie being "the timid one" was interesting ... especially as I'd kinda figured Lexie slotted into that but ... you know.
some of it felt a bit contrived to me - I dunno why the whole pool scene was meh to me - and the "magic" trick was ... not ... magic?
Cute "trick" maybe? But like - yo NOBODY knows two of them so ... other than from the one day.
Whatever.
And then Zac WANTING to get to know her for 4 months but not doing much then being all mad she wasn't all "I LOVE YOU WE'RE IN A SERIOUS COMMITTED RELATIONSHIP" after only TWO DAYS of actual time spent together? Even though he never said it out loud/laid it out either? So ... you know, dude fuck off?
Loved Cam and Lexie ...
the whole terrible coffee thing was cute but not believable really IMO but whatever, small town cutesy stuff.

This audiobook is part of the author’s series titled, Triple X. A series about three sisters, triplets, that were separated as babies. None of them recalling their separation. While two were adopted, one ended up on the foster system.

When Roxie and Lexie show up to meet Maxie, it’s Zac that is there for her. But Maxie has issues that Zac might not be able to overcome.

Well-written characters, plot; quite steamy!
This is a quick read that could be a stand-alone, except that there is a mystery of parentage to resolve in book three. I did not read book one, but this story can be read out of order. The sisters seem likable and fun to spend time with. The female protagonist in this book is a sweet mix of shy and passionate. The leading male is very sexy and swoon-worthy. The sex scenes are toe-curling for sure.
There are laughable moments and comic situations between the sisters, the townspeople, and the girls’ boyfriends. The story takes place over just a few days, so it’s rather a quick romance, especially with a sheriff who seizes an opportunity when he sees one. There are some grammatical errors, but they are not too distracting. Overall, reading this book is a great way to spend an evening!

4.25 Stars. After reading “Lexie”, I had to immediately read “Maxie”. It was another enjoyable read. Maxie is more than shocked to meet her triple sisters, Roxie and Lexie. She doesn’t have the sophistication of Lexie or Roxie’s wildness. She can be shy and is more the girl next door type. Though, sometimes “sexy Maxie” likes to come out to play.
Her shyness has kept her from getting to know the new sheriff in town. Sheriff Zac noticed Maxie as soon as he got to town, but is trying to play it cool. Circumstances brings Maxie literally into Zac’s arms. He has no intention of letting her go, even if that means playing her fake boyfriend.
Like the first book, there is comedy, some tearful moments, and sexiness. Together these sisters are a force to be reckoned with.

As the three get to know one another, Maxie leans on Zac as her "fake" boyfriend to give her courage. It becomes real for both of them however, and eventually they both recognize how right they are together - with her new family. A bit steamy in spots, but a fun story with unanswered questions for future books in the series.

This series of novel in the series can be read as a standalone! What a fun, sexy, and hilarious story! The read is serious but fun loving. It is so interesting to watch the triplets in action. The ladies all have their own personalities but still are together. Lexie, Maxie, and Roxie are a hoot together. It is great 👍 that they finally reconnected. And let's not leave out the boyfriends: Cam and Zac. Wonderful novel with a HEA!

Maxie was the last one to find out she is a triplet and the family that she knew could be completely different than reality. Zac, the sheriff, is there to catch her faint of surprise and help her navigate this new discovery. They have several hot sex scenes. The narrator was new to me and did a good job.

I am a sap for mystery and romance blended together! In this tale of a super shy gal being interested in the new town sheriff and fainting in his arms when she sees two women walking towards her when she pokes her head out of her flower shop that look exactly like her! She finds out that all three of them are identical triplets that were adopted by three different couples and there is more than one mystery to be solved!

This is book 2 of a 3 book series. You must read all 3 and you need to read them in order or you wont be able to follow the storyline. We find out in the beginning Lexie and Roxy arent identical twins they are identical triplets and Maxine "Maxie" s the missing piece.
This book is basically Lexi and Roxy coming to Maxie's town and blending into her life for a short time until Maxie could come to terms with everything. I liked it and I'm going to read #3 to see how it ends.

Fun sexy read. Continuation of book 1. I didn’t care for Maxie in the beginning but by the end I liked her well enough. Same as first book, not a lot of depth and sone iffy moments, but overall and easy quick read you don’t have to think a lot about. One I’ll probably forget what it was about by next week. Still, it was enjoyable. On to the next, and last triplet, Roxie. I’m interested in knowing what happened.

The book grabbed me bear the start and i wanted to find out “what next’ .Fun, emptions/or situations that some people deal with — self doubt, confidence, fitting in—are intertwined. All wanting tobe loved and belong. I only reserve 5 stars for the classics, but this was very enjoyable and a quick read . Will fead more by this author.

This is a nice story, I liked how Zac and Maxie had both been quietly crushing on each other but hadn't had the nerve to act on it.
This is the kind of book that gives you warm fuzzies.
I did find myself wondering if these two could make it long term given their inability to communicate. Maxie seems a bit intimidated by Zac too which doesn't bode well.
One thing I did not like: she wakes up at one point to find him having sex with her. Dear author that is not sexy that is rape.

The adventure continues and now there are three of them. Lexie and Roxie have discovered that they have another sister, Maxie and she never even knew she was adopted. Shock and denial lead to subterfuge and steamy opportunities. I love the humour and interaction between the characters and look forward to reading the Roxie’s story soon!

This is the second installment in the Triple X Trilogy. I love this Series of interconnected stories, with an ongoing plot. The Series continues where the first book left off. Maxie and Zac's story is fun, sweet, sexy, and romantic. Josie Kurz did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to Roxie, the last book in this trilogy.

Excellent story about identical triplets who were unaware that they had sisters. Shock and awe when Maxie meets her sisters. She faints into the arms of the sexy sheriff she has been crushing on since he came to town. Can't put it down.

Enjoyable
This is a new author to me. Maxie is shy and unsure of herself, and she has a big crush on the twin sheriff, Zac. The feeling is mutual, but neither one knows this. Throw in a few complications, new family members, new feelings, and sit back to see what happens.
