A Question of Necessity

He kissed the girl and he liked it. Now to convince her it could be love…

Three Questions, Book 3

When a coveted retail space opens up in Rose Bay, Claire Jones and her sisters waste no time grabbing the perfect spot to relocate their expanding children’s bookshop. But when Claire arrives to sign on the dotted line, she discovers someone else got there first.

Worse, the new tenant is shaking hands with a man who is definitely not the elderly Jack Wilson with whom she made a verbal agreement three days ago. This Jack Wilson is a tall, hunky giant—and no amount of righteous indignation can mask her body’s bone-deep sexual response.

Jack never planned to take over the family company; he’s a teacher, not a businessman. But with his grandfather in the hospital, he’s taken up the reins—and steered straight into trouble. Now he’s faced with a serious mistake, and a beautiful, Amazon warrior of a woman who’s demanding satisfaction.

He’d love to give it to her, but his idea of satisfaction has nothing to do with business, and everything to do with getting the curvy goddess naked. The sooner the better…

Warning: If you’ve never made love to a man who quotes Shakespeare during sex…be warned. You’re gonna want to after reading this book.

(Please note: This book has been previously published.
It's the third book in the Three Questions series, but it stands alone. You don't have to read the other two to enjoy this one.)

Jess Dee lives in beautiful Sydney, Australia, with her husband, their two sons and their insane dog - a ridiculously overweight puggle named Luigi.

An avid romance reader since her early teens, Jess knew one day, when she grew up, she’d have to write her own love stories. It might have taken a while, but in December of 2005, she finally got “the call.” Her first book, Photo Opportunity had been contracted. Now you can’t hold her down. She’s completed a whole host of books, and is finally doing the work she loves most— writing romance.

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
William Shakespeare as quoted by Jack Wilson

You're all woman, Claire. A thousand wet dreams in one perfect package.

This story is just like a cupcake...

Small and Delicious!!

A quick and sexy read but just like with a cupcake, it's not always about the frosting.

Yeah, the sex scenes are smoldering! Our heroes have an explosive chemistry, GG (gorgeous giant aka Jack Wilson) is the perfect hero, caring, sensitive, sexy... But despite the erotic elements I found such a depth in this short story.. It's about the joy of love and shedding your inhibitions. About living your dream and surving even the greatest loss, coming back stronger.

I had a great time reading it because it's apparent that the author, Jess Dee, had a great time writing it! She didn't pile 3 sex scenes and called it a book. She took the time to quote through her heroes Shakespeare, to mention D.H. Lawrence and remind us of the wisdom of Khalil Gilbran and one of my favourite books of all time, The Prophet.

GREAT!!!

I’m just going to tell it like it is; I love Jess Dee’s work. I love the way she writes, the way the wordsflow across the page, the way her characters always seem “human”, the way she makes you want to crawl inside a book and be a part of it. The most impressive thing about Jess, her novellas have substance and for that I’m grateful. A Touch of Confidence is one of the three novellas in Samhain publishing’s Two to Tango anthology. Anyone who can resist and anthology featuring Jess Dee, Lorelei James, and Jayne Rylon has better self control than me.

I love, love this story that features a “larger” woman described as an Amazon warrior and a Shakespeare quoting “gorgeous giant” of a man. Claire Jones is a woman on a mission; to secure the best spot for a second location for the business her and her sister’s own. When the perfect space is accidentally leased to someone else by Jack Wilson, the owner’s grandson, this story gets really interesting, really quick.

These two get off on the wrong foot at first but when Claire realizes that Jack is going through a rough time they end up groping on the floor of the shop she wants to lease. Their grope session is OMG hot!! While Claire is determined to put this behind them, Jack has other ideas and his ideas are pretty damn good. I love that Jack makes Claire realize she’s beautiful despite her poor self image. You can’t help but enjoy a hero that makes his woman feel like a woman.

Jess Dee has given us a fantastic novella filled with lovable characters, a poignant, amusing and sexy storyline, and witty dialog. I highly recommend A Touch of Confidence and know it is one story I’ll read again and again!

This little story had me hooked from the get go, what with the G.G. (gorgeous giant) and the 5'9" heroine that I could relate to. The sexual chemistry between these two is palpable from the beginning, regardless of the fact he's just rented the property she's been promised to someone else and she's not shy in voicing her displeasure regarding the turn of events. The foreplay starts right away and doesn't let up. I'm a sucker for good back and forth bantering and these two got to know each other via some entertaining exchanges. When they finally come together, it's hot and doesn't feel rushed in any way.

The book didn't really hold my attention once the deed was finally done, unfortunately. It most definitely could've been my mood, but something was lacking in the last part of the book. What? I can't pinpoint but it felt like most of the vibrancy and personality just kind of set sail. He suffers a personal tragedy, she helps him through it and he professes his love AFTER 4ish DAYS. I normally don't mind a tidy little ending from a book this size but it still felt rushed. And I have to say his quoting Shakespeare everytime the sex happened didn't work for me. Some girls may find that particular trait romantic and endearing, but it just served to remind me of the year of Shakespeare I was forced to take in college. Definitely not my thing.

All in all it was a decent evening read. I've read several books by this author and I'll continue to look for her books in the future. Barring the Shakespeare quotes during sexy time, that is.

I LOVED IT! I LOVED IT! I LOVED IT!

Ok, this would be a pretty silly review if I just kept writing these three words over and over again, but that’s exactly what I’m tempted to do. I loved A Touch of Confidence that much. Jess Dee, has officially been added to my list of must read authors.

Nothing sets up a hot and steamy relationship better than a little conflict. And for Claire and Jack there’s plenty of it. A real-estate deal gone wrong leaves Claire fuming and Jack trying to make up for his mistake. Claire doesn’t easily back down and Jack refuses to give up, especially when all he wants to do is see her again.

Claire is a strong female lead throughout the entire story. I hate the kind of heroine who starts off like this and then loses all backbone with the first kiss. Jack…well Jack is just damn sexy with his bad singing, literary quotes and complete ardent desire for Claire.

Ladies…you’ll want a Jack of your own after this story!

The dialogue is funny and quick, the sex scenes are long and hot (my fingers swiped across the screen of my IPad lightning fast just to get to the next page). A perfect combination if you ask me. The author does a great job of getting you into the fast-paced story from the beginning. I was completely in love at the end. But I have to say I liked these characters so much I would have been happy to keep reading their story for another hundred pages more.

Seriously, can’t wait for my next Jess Dee book!

I really liked this book! The first part of the book, I was thinking why doesn't Claire just drop down on her knees and cry....maybe she could get her way like that?.... That is what I would have done! My dreams squashed and me being way too hard headed to see it any other way! LOL Well, it is probably a good thing that Claire is not like me or she would have missed out on the rest of her life! LOVED Jack! I loved that he was a man, but still had enough of a horny teenager in him to make it a pretty hot and steamy read! Fast read, but a good one!

A good read. I liked both the hero and the heroine. She was a large woman and had this idea that being large was a bad thing, but she was confident and didn't cry and dispaired over it too much. The hero was fantastic: big, confident and funny. The scene where he sings at the top of his voice, but off-tune, was hilarious. And where he quote Shakespeare during s*ex!!! Ahhh.. fantastic!
Also the moment when he tells her of his grandad death was very, very touching and I must admit it made me cry.
All in all a great read!
