Aldric
When I saw the little one in our midst, I was drawn to her beauty. She broke our laws and must pay the price, but I will let no harm come to her. She will belong to me, mine to enjoy as I please, and soon she will know the pleasure of surrendering to a warrior's mastery of her body.

She is headstrong and defiant, but it will be my privilege and honor to tame her.

Mated to The Warrior King!

With the release of “Aldric” Jane Henry enters an entirely new genus of writing, showcasing her talents as well as versatility. Professionally written and extremely fast paced “Aldric” features well developed characterizations as well as stellar world building. R-482 (Carina) comes from a stark, sterile egalitarian world without names, family, hunger, sex or love. Collectivist ideology is maintained through authoritarian rule, homogeneous clothing and by drugging the populace into a state of apathetic cohesiveness. Aldric’s world is a complete contrast where individuality, loyalty, freedom and love flourishes. Sent to Aldric’s planet as a spy, R-482 is soon captured by Aldric (the Warrior King) during a mating ceremony and he claims her as his mate. Aldric immediately begins R-482’s acclimation and training, naming her Carina which means “little one” in his culture. Although Aldric’s discipline seems a little harsh at times, it is also obvious to the reader he cares deeply for his “little one”. Carina is bright, intelligent, with a singular focus on her mission and inclined to disobey, creating plot tension as the mystery and intrigue unfolds. The intimate scenes are extremely well written and exceptionally hot. Not simply erotic sci-fi, “Aldric” is also laden with mystery, intrigue and plenty of suspense. The vast differences between planets as well as cultures is brilliant, fueling the unraveling plot twists and turns. In the end “Aldric” is one of the best erotic sci-fi romances currently available.

Simply check out the cover and tell me you wouldn’t want to be mated to the Warrior King!

Children 18 and over only due to explicit sexual content and domestic discipline!

I deleted it from my Kindle as it wasn't worth re-reading for me. This book starts out with "a bare bottom spanking" (OMG, kill me now with that silly phrase) and never ends. I would have loved to have seen more of this world and the differences between the Avalerian and Freanoss people. The story of the different people really caught my attention and was intriguing to read about. (Oh, and hello grape scene!) For me, it could have been much better if there was a little less ME DOM, YOU SUB mindset. I enjoy a good full-of-sex erotica just as much as the next person, but it was overdone in this book and SO predictable. Seriously. He lifts her nightgown to spank her on her bare bottom? *Gasp!* She has a special wooden brush that was hand carved so he could paddle her bottom like the naughty little sub she is...gag me with a spoon already! If you are going to do some D/s scenes at least get a bit more creative! (Again, this is my personal opinion, a lot of people enjoy erotica like this, but I would have liked to know beforehand that this was more of a cookie-cutter D/s play with a short story thrown in rather than a full bodied novel). ...though, let me say again that the short story that was thrown in was actually really fun to read about and if the annoyances with the D/s were less for me I'd totally be getting the next book!

*****SMALL SPOILER*****

Also, I thought I'd throw in, I personally didn't like the mind games Aldric played, especially where he was going to belt her if she didn't leave the room naked to call the servant. He didn't end up making her leave, but still...I am not a fan of games like that, with his tone throughout the book. In my opinion it's mean spirited with no outcome that is needed for an *actual* secure man. An insecure man plays games like that and it was hard to overlook that part of him for me.

I just Have to voice my opinion about this book, just have to. Some Spoilers
First this book wasn't to bad in the beginning It was pretty enjoyable, until I got to the middle.
It started to become hard to read it, and not because I started getting bored. I started skimming through the chapters 11 through 15 until I just couldn't take it anymore. and just skipped all the way to the end. I did not like Aldric's character at all, which was new to me considering I mostly get annoyed with female characters. I mean the guys obsession with discipline and submission was just way over the top, even the punishments. I mean come on this guy treated her like she was a pet that he needed to be trained, trying to teach an old dog new tricks is what my impression of it was. Everything Carina did or said was almost always disobedient, and she couldn't even eat without his permission, and when he made her wait for him by standing in the corner she couldn't move, or speak, with her hands behind her back. This behavior to me is just not normal, It was a very dysfunctional relationship, If you could even call it that. I actually wished Carina escaped and went back to her emotionless planet. She was more of a possession or a play thing, wait no a SERVANT that is how he treated her, not a mate, or a wife. If I was in a place like that I would just say " just kill me now you savage brute" No man is ever gonna treat me like that, F*** that Sh**. The Author must have some kind of fetish for BDSM or this is one of her fantasies I don't know but it was not good. Maybe some of you might like this book, but not me and there for I don't recommend it.

I think I missed the plot. I think I missed the hype too. I was gung-ho to read this book and then it was like I'm already well into it, I might as well finish it now. But it was my morbid curiosity that made me finish. I needed to see if the King, upped his ante every time he'd punish her.

The first paddling, ok. The second, ok, but after that. He was looking for ways to punish her. I would have liked this story better if Aldric didn't beat Carina all the time. Sure punish her, but um, she's not a child and your kink is getting out of hand. Simmer down, my lord. I'm all for a little slap and tickle, but after then 10th time, I was out!

The writing wasn't as fluid as I expected or wanted. The characters, Carina, yeah, she was fine. Aldric, a typical man with an inflated EGO. I'm out. He wasn't an alpha, he was more of a man with control issues. I just didn't care about either one of them, I wanted her to run away, but then I was afraid he would shout and cry like a spoiled royal, then he'd have to 'punish' her again. NO, just NO.

The cover was hot.

I adore the Boston Doms series, so I was intriqued by a dark Sci-Fi Warrior romance. It is a story about R-482, a Freanossian spy with one goal: assimilate as one of the savages on the foreign planet of Avalere, and report back her findings. She gets caught by the Warrior King Aldric who claims her as his mate.
I loved how Carina discovered simple things like different foods and art. Little things that delight her. And the struggles she has with keeping up with the mission and her growing feelings for Aldric. Aldric is stern and very much in charge and he does whatever he needs to tame Carina, but he has a gentle side to him too. It is definitly an erotic read with a lot of spankings. Personally I would have like a bit more background and details about the diffferent worlds and their cultures.

Not bad, we have the H and the h that meet each other when she is sent in his world to gain intelligence for the impending war. After a while our submissive heroine discover the pleasure to eat, ( in her planet you have just nutritional bar), to touch another human being, ( in her planet is considered unhealthy), etc. It is not completely based on sex and this is a bonus.

This book is an excellent example of Sci-Fi romance done right, and the connection you feel with Carina from page one will leave you sleepless and starving for your next opportunity to dive back in. Excellent, imaginative storytelling with fun, quirky characters. The settings were very creative but well explained within the context of the story. I particularly enjoyed the mystical elements that were mixed into the story. Ms. Henry you have really outdone yourself on this one. I volunteered to read and review this book.

I enjoyed this story of R-482 aka Carina from Freanoss who arrives on Avalere to spy
on the citizens and report back to those that rule on Freanoss. Aldric spots her in the
"circle" of women he is to choose from and claims her. If he doesn't speak for her as
his, she will be destroyed and he can't have that. Aldric names R-482 Carina because
it means little one in Avalere and that is what he was calling her but she resents being
called little one. Aldric keeps trying to teach Carina to obey him, using physical correction
in the form of spankings, whipping with his belt and even tries the back of her hairbrush
but she continues to defy him, almost asking for his correction.
The world Carina comes from was strictly structured, there is no sex, no parents, no family
at all, just coordinating uniform type clothing and suppliments and energy bars for healthy
sustinance. Avalere has food and family and individual freedoms to live a happy life with
their citizens.
Carina is very confused by the lifestyle the people on Avalere live, she wasn't used to feeling
hunger or pain or even affection. Aldric does his best to help her acclimate to his world, but
they have secrets between them, one being why Carina is on his planet to begin with and the
other is all the lies Carina was taught by her own people that she is discovering are untrue.
Aldric's sister is being held hostage by the Freanoss people because they want the riches the
Avalere planet has. The potential war between the planets is something they must work on
together to find peace with each other.
I enjoyed the world building and how Aldric really tried to understand Carina and teach her
to acclimate to both him and living such a different life than she was used to.
I also appreciate the HEA ending that I expect from every book I read.

Sci-Fi Romance PERFECTION that will capture your imagination and seduce you to hunger for some HOT alien romance of your own!
Most alien warrior romances start with a human being kidnapped, but what would happen if the human came of her own volition, as a SPY? How would that change things? Well, author Jane Henry gives her readers an opportunity to find out in her latest offering “Aldric”. Our heroine is but a number on her progressive planet, Freanoss, where all are equal. She volunteers for a most dangerous mission – going to the backward and barbaric planet of Avalere, which has been stealing from Freanoss and find out whatever intelligence she can. Trying to stay unnoticed and undercover, our heroine joins a group of women in the hope of getting the information she needs. However, that act of staying unnoticed does the exact opposite, and her world and mission take a dramatically different path. As always, the plot of this Jane Henry novel is compelling with twists and conflicts that readers will not expect. Additionally, the characters are exquisitely human, flawed and yet so powerfully described that they become real. This reader felt a bit bereft because as the story ended, so did those wonderful relationships. The chemistry is hot, the use of physical punishment liberal, and the development of the characters and story a joy to experience! Although I was given an ARC copy of “Aldric” to prepare this honest voluntary review, I plan to purchase a copy of “Aldric” for my favorites library to read over again. “Aldric” has the HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS this review can give; you really should purchase your own copy, today! You will be so glad you did. Happy pages! 😉

R-482, aka Carina, comes from Freanoss, a planet of technologically progressive people that have subdued their emotions and live life like they are part of a hive collective with no one person being considered special or unique. She is sent to spy on the the king of Alavere, a planet accused of stealing resources from Freanoss. The planet Alavere is a throwback to the 17th century. On Alavere the women are considered property of their men and fiercely protected and cherished by them. Even when the women are punished for disobeying their men it is because their men "love" them. Carina is captured by King Aldric when she acidentally steps into a mating ritual. She is kept in a 24/7 master slave dynamic against her own will. Spank, spank, spank, copulate maybe, spank, spank, spank, copulate finally, spank, spank, spank, and then Stockholm syndrome ensues. There is very little world building. There is hardly any interaction between the two main characters and other characters in the book. The story is 75% spanking and copulating. I will not recommend this book to anyone who is serious about their erotica.

Opposites attract!

I found this book riveting from the beginning page. Two civilizations co exist but very different mores. Aldric is a warrior King and he is instantly obeyed by everyone. A scientist from Fredonia sneaks into his country and ends up hiding within a group of women who are vying for the Kings favor. As luck would have it, he chooses her. He tells her she belongs to him and she is to obey his every command or be punished. As u might expect she has a painful learning curve. The contrast of the two countries leave her bewildered and confused. The story is addictive but there is a lot of unwanted punishment before the story is over.! The characters are well drawn and their story keeps you turning pages! There are twist and turns, battles and intrigue. If corporal punishment bothers you this is not the book for you. Otherwise it is an amazing story.

Sizzling hot D/s Sci-fi Romance

Jane Henry has once again written a 5 alarm super sexy romance. It takes place in a world of her making where progress is making one people less and less human as we know it versus a people they call barbarians who are steeped in a culture where basic human needs and emotions prevail.
R-482 renamed Carina by King Aldric never expected to be discovered by the Aveletians when she comes spying for Freanoss government. She certainly didn't expect to become mated to their King. But her mission is almost immediately sidelined and she finds herself being trained to be the Queen. This book was packed with Jane Henry's signature sexy, sensual spanking splendor and a wonderful addition to my library.

I received an Advance Reader copy.

Could not get into it

I don't understand all the five star ratings. The story is ok but could have been so much better.
I strongly disliked the main male character and found he was a chauvinist pig that was forever hitting his woman for disobeying him.
The main female characters spent most of her time being disobedient or weeping (after being punished). It amazed me that she could sit or lay on her sore bottom as she was constantly abused by her man.
Just because the main male character was the king of savages does not mean he has to hit his woman and make her into a obedient puppet.
If you are like me and adore a good love story then Aldric is not for you.

Right from the first page this book grabs you with its setting. Carina is already in trouble. Big trouble. Aldric is the king of his domain and expects obedience from everyone including Carina who has secretly arrived from another world to spy.  Like his muscles, the book bulges with steamy scenes and spankings. For those who like the strict dominant with a caring streak, this romance will hold you to the end as Jane Henry cleverly draws you into the colliding worlds of Aldric and Carina.

I seldom write bad reviews but felt this book warranted one. The story is a flimsy excuse for writing scenes about pretend dominance filled with repeated ad nauseam spankings. I like fantasy/sci-fi books with strong alpha's as well as some BDSM. I don't like books with insubstantial plots and books filled with cut and paste scenes.

It’s an ok read. Not the best from Jane Henry, but still readable.

Just a couple of things that meant it wasn’t my favourite.
The heroine was meant to be this strong spy, but she submits far too early and easily for me. He seems a little too much at times. And if I had money for every time the word obey appears I could buy every book I wanted for the rest of my life.

Book #1, Heroes of Avalere. Jane Henry's tantalizing alternative reality will captivate you from beginning to end!

After the New Dawn, Freanoss and Avalere went their separate ways. Freanoss focused on technology to the exclusion of all else. Individuality and humanity no longer exist. Avalere, on the other hand, maintained only the smallest amounts of technology, focusing instead on the human experience. Obviously the planets are diametrically opposed but neither culture is perfect. When R-482, a female from Freanoss, is charged with spying on the Avalerians to learn why they've been stealing materials from Freanoss. she knows it won't be easy. Access between Freanoss and Avalere is only available through a limited number of portals. As she creeps in to observe Avalerian culture from a distance, she makes a fateful choice that will change her life forever. Aldric is the king of his world. When he sees R-482, he's so taken by her that he exercises his right as king to take her as his mate. Can anyone say culture shock? R-482 soon learns she has no choices. As Aldric takes her, instructs her with unyielding control, renames her Carina, she soon learns everything she believes may have been based on lies. But why? It makes no sense, and logic is the only truth there is, right? The Avalerians have every reason to deceive and entice her to their way of life. Completely confused and bewildered, not trusting either side, herself, or Aldric, Carina has choices to make. But can she? She only knows what she's been told. Both sides have reasons for wanting to control her. She'll have to depend on her deepest instincts, observations, and ultimately her own judgment, to survive. Who's right...Avalere or Freanoss? What's she willing to sacrifice to find the truth? Because, ultimately, only the truth will set her free.

Jane Henry's another favorite author, and this is the first sci-fi story she's written I've had the privilege of reading. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I felt myself alternately angered, confused, and enthralled by both cultures and each character. R-482 is initially an enigma. How could a human not have a name, only an assigned number? How is it possible for anyone to be ignorant of the basics of humanity? I had a hard time bonding with her at first. But as her ignorance of Avalerian culture and humanity itself throws her into the most terrifying, bewildering experiences of her life, I found her more and more sympathetic. Aldric and the other Avalerians initially seemed harsh, ruthless, completely inflexible. I didn't much care for their society either. But not all is as it seems. R-482 slowly turns into Carina. It's not simply a change in her name. Aldric remains stern and immovable but learns there's more than brute force and uncompromising control. Carina and Aldric are each stubborn, independent, yet ultimately invested in finding the truth. The changes and compromise aren't instantaneous by any means. There are plenty of struggles, emotions, distrust, even hatred and rage. Uncertainty, hidden agendas, and life-threatening danger abound. But underneath it all, Jane Henry's written a cautionary tale about the inherent dangers of technology outstripping humanity's ability to keep up with it and the moral implications thereof. She's also emphasized the importance of maintaining a human connection but not focusing on that to the exclusion of all else. It's what's beneath the surface that motivates these characters. Beyond the characters, the rich diversity, the stark differences, between the two cultures, are riveting. Thank you, Jane Henry, for a unique, imaginative, and thoroughly captivating reading experience. This book deserves nothing less than a five-star rating. It's truly extraordinary!

One final note. Be an informed reader! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the author! She works very hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to the book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.

Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

The Warrior King👑🔪🔫Takes A Bride👰💋

Alpha Alien Master🐺🍆🌋👋🔪🔫 trains his submissive bride👰💋. BDSM elements throughout.

When Two humans from vastly different cultures and planets🌍 collide, one must defer to the mental and physical 💪strength of the other.
Carina💋🔪, as she will soon be known, has been sent from her sterile, uniform, climate controlled planet🌍 of Freanoss, to spy on the savage👹, barbaric🔪, people of the planet🌍 of Avalere. The Avalere🌍 have supposedly been stealing the resources of the Freanoss. Her mission is to get irrefutable proof.

She dresses herself like a young Avalerian woman and mingles with a group of young women, dancing💃 to the beat of heavy drumming. On a dias, overlooking the crowd is a huge dark, bearded, tatted up⭐⭐ and heavily muscled💪 man. He is Aldric🐺🍆🌋🔪, the Warrior 👑King!
Carina💋🔪 has arrived in the middle of a mating🍆🌋 ceremony for the Warrior 👑King and his warriors. She doesn't have a clue what is going on, because the Freanossians do not mate, do not kiss💋, do not 💘love.

The Warrior 👑King stands up and picks her out. When he takes her by the shoulders, she attacks him with a knife🔪, as she has been trained. OOPS! Wrong move!

Now,she has attracted attention to herself, ruining her cover, and gotten the attention of the 👑King himself! The Warrior 👑King says under their law she is to be whipped in public and imprisoned, maybe even executed.
Instead, Alric🍆🌋🔪 decides to spank👋👋👋👋 her in public and take her as his mate💕. He loves her feistiness, and her perfect, untouched, unblemished body💃.
The Warrior👑King is a stern but loving💕 Master! He's a real top of the line Spankmeister👋👋👋!

Git yer Spurs on, Little Gal!🏇
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍆, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎

ARC fronted to me by the Author for a Voluntary and Honest Review. Thank you Ms Henry!

I thought about this story a lot and about a person like Carina💋👰, who was only a number on her planet🌍, who had no type of relationship with anyone else on her planet🌍. She was a woman who basically lived her whole life in a void, a vacuum, and was drugged in order to control any feelings at all. Coming to Aldric's planet🌍 would have been totally overwhelming for a long time.

Couldn't put this book down!

This is a very well written book told from both points of view. It gives us both sides of the story, which is a clash of cultures, a clash of personalities, and a clash of purpose from both characters.
It is definitely an Adult Sci-fi book because of the xxx rated scenes and the BDSM lifestyle of the Warrior 👑King, and all the men in Avalere.

Jane Henry writes some great love stories with alpha, Dom-ly type men and the women who love them. She sets them everywhere from the Old West to modern Boston to alien planets. Aldric is one of her scifi romance books.

Carina is a woman from Freanoss. She only has a number designation, not even a real name. She's been sent to Avaleare to find out what their plans are since they keep stealing from Freanoss. She doesn't know much about where she is going, other than they are a bunch of savages and barbarians, which is a far cry from the regimented, controlled, and advanced society where she comes from. When she gets there, Carina joins a group of women, thinking to hide with them. The problem is that the women are about to go before the king and his warriors so that they can choose mates.

Aldric is the Warrior King. He sees a lovely young woman trying to get away from the rest of the women and the circle and he knows that he has to make her his. When he gets to her, he realizes that she's not a woman of Avaleare, so she doesn't know the rules. That doesn't mean that he's not going to punish her though. She needs to obey, so he sets out to train her to obey.

I kind of dislike Aldric part of the time. He knows that Carina isn't familiar with their laws and their rules, and I think that sometimes he's a little overly harsh with her. It's within his character though, and Carina doesn't appear to overly hate it, so I guess it could be worse, and I don't completely dislike him even at the times that I kind of dislike him. I do get why he does what he does, but still. Other than that, it's a great story, well-written, and an interesting premise. It's really freaking hot too. I mean, have a fan with you and a nice cool drink to bring your temperature back down.

I began this book with some trepidation, I am not a sci fi lover, but I am a Jane Henry lover. Her previous books that I have listened to, I have loved, so I took a chance, and this book was a complete and unexpected surprise! Jane has taken an alpha male warrior king, and while relentless with his discipline, given him heart. Aldric takes Karina from the circle, and as a result, she is to be his mate. She has no idea what she has gotten herself into, she is from another planet, coming to complete a mission she has been sent on. This primitive place she has come to and this man she is getting close to is more than she bargained for, but anything to get the information she seeks. Little does she know the power of Aldric. I love the way Jane Henry can take a character, that I don't think I would normally look twice at with his dominant attitude and give him such a nurturing way that you can't help but fall for him. I also love that her heroines have spunk and attitude enough to give them credibility when faced with this lifestyle. Fun listen!

Ali & Jeffrey Peterson give a wonderful duet performance of this book. I have never heard them before but was very pleased with their pace and narrative. I have to say, Jeffrey is the perfect alpha male, his deep commanding voice is perfect for this book. Will definitely be looking for more of his narration.

I'm really conflicted about my review for this story. This book, as with all from this author, is well-written, flows easily & has well-drawn characters with a thoughtful storyline. However, I found myself not always liking the storyline. Sure, there were things that were great but I felt I really had to ignore my misgivings about other sections in order to enjoy the bits I could. I don't mind spanking books & regularly read (& review) them but I definitely know what pushes me outside of what I'm happy to read in a story. For me, this book pushed into the non-consensual, darker elements which I found personally unacceptable & distasteful. Don't get me wrong - there are wonderful sections devoted to the relationship between Aldric & Carina. I think overall though, this book wasn't a win for me. It still hasn't turned me off this author, though, & I will continue to read her, but perhaps with a little more attention paid to the blurb.

I do enjoy a good alpha alien story. Make him a king with a mate from a planet that is almost the opposite of his and I have the makings for a fun afternoon because well, who needs to work? Not when ALDRIC is sitting on my Kindle.

Likes: Having the POV of both Aldric and Carina made the story that much more entertaining as we alternated between their viewpoints; both of which gave us their internal thoughts as they grappled with their differences. Well, mostly Carina grappled. Aldric was far more ready to rule her body, mind and soul than she was willing to give up control. Except, she already did. Her brain simply hadn’t caught up with her body yet. As always I do enjoy a bit of DD in my stories and these were downright delicious in all the ways that Jane Henry knows how.

If you haven’t read the story yet, give it a go. You’ll like it, you really will.

I started this book with mixed feelings...I'm a big Jane Henry fan, but not that in to science fiction. The story was definitely well written. I liked the characters, particularly Carina as she struggles with her feelings for Aldric. The author didn't spend a lot of time on world building, but did describe the two cultures well enough to get a feel for both characters. This book was considerably harsher than the author's previous books, but it fit well with the culture of the planet. At the end... I'm still a Jane Henry fan, but still just not that into sci-fi.

I received an ARC of this book from Stormy Night Publications.

She finds his sister and they rescue her. He is very upset that she disobeyed him but happy that she has chosen to be is mate. Lovely read. A great storyline with a strong female character.

I love Jane Henry's Doms of Boston series so when I heard she had written a Sci-fi Warrior romance, well, I had to get it and read it. I'm not really one for sci-fi but Aldric sucked me in from the first page. I loved that Carina was a feisty woman with a backbone but I also loved that she eventually learned how to show her emotions and feelings. Aldric was a tough but firm King and gently guided is mate. This was a wonderful love story that I wasn't expecting and was thrilled to find. Engaging and well written. Now I can't wait for the next book in this series!!! I want more of Aldric's warriors stories!!!
