We said we could do casual. We swore we wouldn’t fall in love. We lied.
Charlie
I didn’t buy my house just so I could stare at the guy next door. I swear.
It’s not my fault he mows the lawn with his shirt off. His tattooed muscles are an eye magnet.
I can’t look away.
The first kiss is an accident. One taste and I have to have more.
We were supposed to keep it casual. Neighbors with benefits. No big deal.
When a client comes after me for turning him into the FBI, Lucas swears he’ll keep me safe.
I’m not supposed to fall in love with him. That’s not the deal.
I’m walking straight into broken heart and I can’t stop myself.

Lucas
My new neighbor is a nightmare. Or a wet dream.
Charlotte Winters, the crown princess of the Winters clan.
It shouldn’t be hard to keep my distance. We have nothing in common.
I grew up not knowing where my next meal was coming from. She grew up with a personal chef.
But Charlie isn’t what I expected. It’s not just that she’s funny, and determined, and sexy as hell.
She’s vulnerable. She’s in danger. And she turns to fire in my arms.
One kiss and I’m in too deep to walk away.
I have no business being friends with a woman like her, much less claiming a place in her bed.
Too f*king bad.
Now that I've had a taste of Charlie, I’m not giving her up. Not until I have to.
Even if it destroys us both.

The Rebel Billionaire is a standalone romance with a happy ending. It’s the fifth book in the Scandals of the Bad Boy Billionaires series and reveals more about the notorious Winters family. You can read it on its own, everything you need to know is explained, but once you get a taste you'll want to read the others ;}

Ivy Layne has had her nose stuck in a book since she first learned to decipher the English language. Sometime in her early teens, she stumbled across her first Romance, and the die was cast. Though she pretended to pay attention to her creative writing professors, she dreamed of writing steamy romance instead of literary fiction. These days, she’s neck deep in alpha heroes and the smart, sexy women who love them.

Married to her very own alpha hero (who rubs her back after a long day of typing, but also leaves his socks on the floor). Ivy lives in the mountains of North Carolina where she and her other half are having a blast raising two energetic little boys. Aside from her family, Ivy’s greatest loves are coffee and chocolate, preferably together.

How do you live next door to a man that is scorching hot, sexy, ooze sex appeal and bad boy, and wears his tattoos as a badge of honor and not take a bite of him? Well, simple you don’t. How do you not get emotionally involved with him when he is what stand between you and the past? Well, you don’t. How do you cope with an emotional draining set of events and then survive it all intact and sane? Well, you have to read to find out exactly what Charlie had to go through to get her piece of happily ever after. This was a challenge for her in more ways than one.

There something about being fired, drinking expensive alcohol, and a sexy man that makes you do things that you may not normally do. But for Charlie this was the turning point in her life. She acted on instincts that had been growing in her for as long as she had watched Lucas mow the lawn on many different occasions. This draws Lucas in further into a family dynamic that he wanted nothing to do with, but he had desired Charlie from afar for a while.

This read held a lot and gave a lot. Danger. Secrets. Betrayal. Sex. Lust. Passion. Pain. Family (good and bad). I found a depth of characters and blending of the two main characters that I was not expecting. I find that I truly loved reading this one. It is thus far my favorite from the series. With each new one I find more that I like about and don’t like about the Winter Family. I find that they are a family with faults, lines, guilts, secrets, passions, loyalty, and more.

Aiden Winters called his Charlie into his office and fired her—WHAT A JERK! To say she doesn’t lose it, is like an understatement. She hated her job, but it was her life. She ended getting a few things and going to the home she was remodeling and sees her neighbor Lucas Jackson. She was sitting on the porch drinking some of her brother’s expensive wine as revenge for him firing her. Lucas asked why she was out drinking on her back porch and she told him to join her. She was feeling the liquor, and proceeded to kiss Lucas. This is the start to their “hot and steamy” affair which sort of binds them to one another even though they don’t know it yet.

Lots of twists and turns take place in this story- like dealing with the deaths of Charlie’s parents many years before which ties into the deaths of her aunt and uncle. Then we see how Lucas handles this with her. It is just at times an emotional and complex read. Wonderfully developed characters that have real feelings and are fleshed out made this a great read. You will not be disappointed when reading this book.

My rating: 4.8 stars ****

I mostly liked this one. Charlie and Lucas are an unlikely couple, but they work well together. I liked most of the character's interactions. Charlie's brother is a jerk, even if he was doing it for the right reasons, he did it the worst way possible, For the most part, Charlie's character was strong and stood her ground. Things between her and Lucas get complicated and their affair turns into something else, like we all knew was going to happen.

I really like the kind of character's Ivy writes, they follow most of the typical plots, but she still manages to present strong characters. I liked how she avoided most typical traps by making the characters speak upfront, be real, and don't mess around. This book was definitely worth it, and I recommend it.

This narration duo did the job just right. With each new installment in the series there familiarization allows for a more enriching connection with the character. The audio is smooth and rich.

Aiden Winters called his Charlie into his office and fired her. To say she was mad is an understatement. She hated her job, but it was her life. She went and got a few of her things and went to the home she was going to remodel. There was a small bedroom with a bathroom that was livable, but that was about it. She has watched her neighbor Lucas Jackson mow his yard many times. He came over to her house while she was drinking her brother's super expensive Macallan Select Reserve Single Malt that she took when she left their home. He never let anyone drink it, so she thought this was good revenge for him firing her. Lucas asked why she was out drinking on her back porch and she told him to join her. She was feeling the liquor, and proceeded to kiss Lucas. She then told him she wanted to have sex with no strings attached. Lucas was leery, but he had wanted her for awhile now. They both agreed it was not a relationship just sex. You will need to read the book to see what happens.

This was a great book. I love the Winters. There is betrayal, loyalty, family, suspense, tears, laughter, and love. Lucas is out of the Army and worked some secret missions. He does "security" when needed now. Charlie is high spirited, smart, beautiful, loyal, and stubborn. Lucas didn't come from money and doesn't feel like he is good enough for Charlie. I loved their interaction and how they grew close without realizing it. They helped each other heal from some of their emotional mess of their pasts. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

I love me some Ivy Layne. She always brings yummy goods to the table.
A good, solid read.
A huge plus for Charlie, such a great heroine. I absolutely loooooved her!!!
Unfortunately, I've never been a fan of friends with benefits trope tbh so the fact that we have it here was a bummer. Also, their lack of communication bothered me a bit and for that reason I had to take away one star. But I loved Charlie and Lucas and I'm a huge fan of the entire Winters family.
The writing is really really good, like always, makes the story flow.
I loved the drama, the chemistry these two have and the reappearance of the characters from previous books. And I can't wait to read Aidan's story.
Now off to book 6.

Beautiful story

I love the family dynamics and how they take care of each other. The suspense lurking around when trying to figure out who is behind all of the stalking and such was amazing. I had to skip through a lot of the pages because the sex scenes were a lot and for me, it took away from the story because you didn’t need all of that.

Could have been a great romance

For some unknown reason, romance authors seem to think writing romance is not enough. They seem to always feel the need to throw in some convoluted tangle of a goofy suspense filled mystery, murder and mayhem mess.
What's wrong with just a plain old ordinary romance? The Rebel Billionaire was a great romance all by itself. But for whatever the reason, here we went down nine thousand rabbit holes. Stalkers, attacks, held at gunpoint, threats, on and on went the silliness, to the point where I was ready to just give up on the romance, to avoid any more of the stupid round and round Scooby Doo Mystery. Please, romance writers. I LIKE romance. I really do. I don't need all the side goofiness. Just give me great romance and I'll be happy.

Lucas & Charlie (Charlotte). When we were introduced to Lucas in Book 3, I was dying to read his story. I was hoping for a little more bad boy but we didn't get it in his book. That being said, I still really enjoyed this book.

Her brother fires her (she hated her job and overworked) because he thought it would be best for her. She was pissed and stole his VERY expensive whiskey. She moved into the house she purchased to rehab despite the place needing a lot of work to make it livable. When she goes to her house she decides to get drunk from her brother's whiskey. Lucas is her neighbor (he's seen her when she was looking at the house and caught her watching him mow the lawn shirtless, YUM!) and comes over to chat while she's drinking. He shares the whiskey while she gets toasted and comes on to him. He's interested but not in the drunkie.

Next day she's rocking a nice hangover. Lucas comes to her house to return her house key (he put her to bed the night before and locked up the house on his way out) and now that she isn't plowed he asks if she regrets anything from the night before (he was testing the waters to see if she wanted to hook up with him or if it was just the booze). She tells him "my only regret is having to go to bed alone". They are both seriously attracted to each other but neither wants to deal with the complexities of a relationship. They agree to be F buddies (friends with benefits minus the friends part). Just 2 people having sex with each other.

She's on her way home from getting her takeout dinner and she's attacked by some unknown assailant (come to find out she turned in some client to the FBI and did some undercover work. Homie was pissed at her and was stalking her). Lucas sees the attack and jumps in to save her but the person gets away because Lucas had to let him go to tend to Charlie. They realize that she's being targeted and believe its the FBI loser and go all security crazy to make sure her house is secure.

Lucas & Charlie get close working on the rehab to her house (F'ing nightly). They go to dinner and when they get back to the house they see that someone had vandalized her house with some classy slurs butthurt dudes call chicks that are better than them. Between the security team, Lucas and her brother Aiden, Lucas agrees to be round the clock security for her. He's been getting the feels (I mean who wouldn't when the sex is amazing and you in essence spend a lot of your time together "dating"); she's getting the feels (I mean he's hot AF, amazing sex, and she feels safe with him). Uh oh...what happened to casual F buddies (that always seems to work out as intended).

The proximity alert on the security system shows someone trying to crowbar their way into her house (she had moved in with Lucas for the round the clock protection). When caught, it was some lady that was friends with her parents and her aunt & uncle that were killed. She was talking crazy about how "he's still out there" (eluding to the killer of the rents/parents). It is believed that this lady was her stalker (FBI's buddy has been under surveillance) but it just didn't seem right. Lady goes to mental institution and isn't talking anymore. All goes quiet with Charlie.

Now that the stalker is dealt with, Lucas and Charlie have to face their relationship. He can't blame it on him protecting her and he doesn't feel he's good enough for her so he runs. He tells her that he's going out of town for work and that he will "see her around" (code for their relationship of F buddies was done and they were done). Of course they are both devastated. She had fallen in love with him but knew they agreed to not have more than just sex. He loves her but doesn't feel good enough for her.

She's in her house working on sanding some wood to be stained and gets attacked. Come to find out her stalker was FBI's bestie. He had snuck into her house when she was bringing in groceries and the alarm was off. She's trying to alert the security team when Lucas (who just got home from being out of town #soconvenient) busts in and easily disarms and subdues stalker. He tells her how he feels but they are interrupted by the security team that had shown up and Aiden who whisks Charlie away to the Winters compound. Not going to be deterred, Lucas goes to the house and gets his girl back. They buy another flip house to flip together and Lucas gets a job at Sinclair security to lead up the company's new IT security team. HEA!

Like I said, I really enjoyed this book. There is one thing that I found super annoying though. Charlie acted like a broke college student all the time like major cheapskate. She bought a futon instead of an actual bed because it was cheaper, she bargained shopped for the critical items she needed to set up the house, traded in her old AF sedan for a beat up truck, etc. Not only is she part of a loaded family but she also worked for over 10 years at the family's company. She was a VP, living with Aiden and having practically no bills. Not sure why the author needed to make her such a tightwad. I mean she didn't have to go spend happy but c'mon...she needed jeans and shirts (all of her wardrobe was work clothes) and instead of buying some she raids her old clothes from when she was in HS and college. Her penny pinching was a little too much IMO.

I knew Lucas would be back! I just had a feeling and this proves it. I was happy he would be getting a story and I knew Charlie eventually would get hers too but I was more excited about Lucas. This was because he was a nice surprise back in Jacob’s book and he came from left field and shocked me. I wouldn’t have seen that coming at all. I only wish there was a scene where Charlie gets to ride on one of his motorcycles. This would have put the cherry on the cake for Charlie leaving Charlotte behind and embracing re-finding herself. Other than that, I loved reading about Charlie rediscovering who she is and getting acquainted with who she used to be. It was refreshing because she was so unhappy when she was working, but not because she didn’t want to work. She was burned out from doing too much and putting too much of herself in the job that she lost herself. It only took encouragement from Aiden to remove her from the position to do it and while I can understand why he did it, I can also see how Charlie would be hurt by it. It was a fresh start for her but also in a way it was for Lucas too. I loved how open he was with her and his attitude about it. He said it like it was and thought to himself that this made him who he is and she can either choose to accept it or not. He laid it out for her but also guarded his heart up until the very end of the book. Personally, I think his heart was given to her way before then but Lucas would probably disagree. I enjoyed learning about Lucas and also about Charlie. Both are such quiet characters that you don’t know much about them and I think that’s what Ivy led with when she gave him his own book. Plus, a part of me thinks that fans of this series and her writing probably could have played a factor in it too. I always had a feeling Charlie would get her own story to tell, she is part of the Winters Family after all and plus she was equally as secretive as Lucas. You didn’t know what she did at the headquarters or about her life, but you knew she was part of the family and always included in meetings and get togethers. All this aside, this gave me vibes of another billionaire series I read earlier this year. It has a thriller aspect with stalker tendencies and a mystery with the family that no one can figure out, even with as many details as we’ve gotten from it. Part of this mystery gets solved in this book and I look forward to not only unwrapping it in future books, but also getting to know more about the Winters Family and each sibling and cousin. I’m excited to learn about Gage next, we probably have the least amount of information about him and the other sister.

The Rebel Billionaire, by Ivy Layne is a 342-page contemporary romance novel and is the fifth book out of a 10-part series (other reviews can be found below). And since this is a 10-part series, you can expect reviews by this author pretty back to back for the next few weeks as I go through the books. It is written from a first-person POV, two-sided.

Ivy Layne is an author who generally writes dirty, dirty sex scenes. So if you're someone who is looking for some dirty read (which there is nothing wrong with that) this is the book for you. I will warn you ahead of time if you are reading this series, this book in particular had A LOT of sex...to the point that I actually skimmed some of it.

First off, I'm going to apologize now. I normally structure my reviews differently, but I've been underwater working on my own book so writing reviews is secondary to me so I'm quite behind in reviews. As of now, I have 11 books to review in the queue. The next few months my reviews will be short and succinct.

Spoilers Ahead ***

The fun thing about the Winters Saga is the author does a great job creating a world where so many families (Winters, Sinclairs, etc) intersect which gives her the opportunity to write more novels on those individuals without having to start from scratch.

Charlie and Lucas, finally, we move onto one of the two girls in the Winters family and Charlie (Charlotte) is an interesting character. She grew up being protected by her older brothers and her older cousins, because Charlie? She's the baby of the Winters clan. She worked as a VP at the Winters Inc company until her brother, the CEO, Aiden, kicked her out.

Lucas...well, we met him in The Billionaire’s Pet (#3), he showed up at the end of the book, killing the antagonist in the story, Big John. He's a man of many talents, not only is ex SpecOps (Special Operations), but he's a freelancer and computer hacker. So yeah...man of many talents.

After Charlie is fired she leaves the Winters family home and strikes off on her own moving next to Lucas. She ends up moving into, well, the way it's explained, a dumpster fire. She starts to renovate the home and ends up getting close with Lucas after they agreed to a "neighbors with benefits" situation. Those things never work out as one expects.

In summary, I give this a 4 out of 5.

A 4.5 star winner!

I am in love with the Winters family and we have another story focusing on one of two females of this male dominated family (I’m not counting girlfriends, fiancées, wives, ex-wives, distant cousins, aunts, etc.). Our story focuses on Charlotte or “Charlie” the only female sibling of Aiden Winters, head of the Winters’ clan, and other brothers, Jacob, and Holden. Charlie is somewhat of a rebel (there’s our title). She strong, feisty, and doesn’t quite get what the fuss is all about regarding the Winters Family. They’ve definitely had their tragedies, but to her they are a “down to earth” family with sibling squabbles, family get together, business problems, interfering brothers, etc. who just happen to have money. (Yea, right!).

When Charlie and her oldest brother, Aiden have a disagreement over the direction of her life, she finds herself no longer employed at Winters Conglomerate and in a fit of anger, moves from the family home, Winters House. She heads to a place she has recently bought but is in desperate need of renovating. Hard to envision our heroine sleeping on a futon in a gutted out home, but she does, and now unemployed, she throws herself into renovating the place. This is where she meets our hero, Lucas Jackson, who owns the house next door, an extremely handsome, hot looking man who has secrets of his own but is immediately “taken” with Charlie. Their immediate chemistry leads to a “hot and steamy” affair that seems to bind them to each other even though they don’t know it yet.

Lots of twists and turns to this story, some dealing with the deaths of Charlie’s parents many years before, along with deaths of her aunt and uncle (the parents of Gage, Tate, Vance and Annalise, her Winters cousins). This is a storyline that threads through all the previous Bad Boy Billionaires’ Romance books and we don’t have our answers quite yet, but I’m planning on getting them in future books….hopefully when oldest brother Aiden (and my personal heart throb) gets his book.

Wonderfully developed characters with depth. I love that Lucas is not your stereotypical good guy with his history. We saw him briefly in The Billionaire’s Pet and to have him pop back up as a main character…..well done Ms. Ivy. I didn’t see that one coming!

Like I said in the very beginning, this family is one of my most favorite families to read about. They are standalone, but why would you want to read just one of them??? Give yourself a treat. Read The Rebel Billionaire and then go back to the beginning and read all the others in this series. You’ll be so glad you did!!!

Another amazing read by Ivy Lane. I absolutely love this family, and the Sinclair as well. I voluntarily received and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Charlie has been smothered her whole life, but did what she thought was best when it came to her career. She worked at Winters Inc with Aiden and put 100 percent into her work. It completely threw her off when Aiden fired her and told her to go find herself. The only thing she knew about herself was that she was good at her job. Now what does she do? Previously, she'd bought a run down house to renovate and had a little bit of work done to it, but she decides to move into the house and do a lot of the work herself. But first, she's going to enjoy an expensive bottle of stolen whiskey to get back at her brother for firing her.
Lucas spotted Charlotte when she came to view the house, and seeing her again made him want her all over again. Their "neighbors-with-benefits" agreement suits him fine, until she is attacked. Then he feels an emotion he's never felt before, fear. He's afraid of her being hurt, of her leaving him, but mostly afraid he will fail her or he isn't good enough for her. Things progress between them quickly, but neither say anything to let the other know how they feel. Now they think the danger is clear, he makes his worst mistake ever. He breaks it off and leaves.
Is the stalker really taken care of? Will Gage be found...alive? Will they ever find out who was behind her parents and aunt and uncles murder? Will Lucas get his head out of the sand and beg Charlie for forgiveness? Must read to find out.

Bad Boy Billionaire Romance Series Book..GO CHARLIE!

I adore books about wealthy families and the siblings.
This Winters family book focuses on Charlie. She has just been fired from the family company and blackballed in the city and surrounding areas; by older brother Aiden. She does HATE the job and it's sucking the life out of her
Charlie takes off to her run down derelict house she had bought hours away. After absconding wth a very very expensive top shelf whisky bottle
Of Aiden's (his personal stashed bottle).
I love Charlie's fiery personality. She is extremely independent. She speaks her mind and is very determined. She wants to fix the house own her own from demo to building; painting; sanding; and replacing.
Lucas is her HOT 🔥and sexy next door neighbor.
He just got out of the army and does private security.
He keeps an eye on her from the moment she arrives and gets plastered drinking the bottle of whiskey.
Slowly they get more involved in each other's lives.
Then real life goes at them. Thank goodness Lucas is there to protect Charlie when there is a stalker and pictures arrive relating to her parents death.
This book is part of a series The Bad Boy Billionaire Series. You can read and follow without the others.
But you get so drawn in by the string characters and intrigue. You will want to read them all.
I strongly recommend this book.
Ms Lane characters are so realistic and everything flows along with such ease. I laughed and cried.
I got mad and wanted to Smack a stupid person at times.

Charlotte's Story

Charlotte (Charlie) Winters is the youngest of the Winters clan but, much like her older siblings and cousins, she is a force to be reckoned with. She was the only one still living with oldest brother, Aiden, at Winters House, the family estate, and she had been working long and hard, since her mid-teens, for the family business. That is, until big CEO brother, Aiden, decided she was not happy with the work and fired her.I

Furious with her brother, Charlie moved into the house she recently purchased and was rehabbing, but it is not anywhere close to complete. There she finally meets the hot lawnmower guy next door, who she has seen in several of her visits to the house. Based on a very strong mutual physical attraction, the two begin a next door neighbor with benefits relationship, as neither is looking for more. That is, until Charlie is attacked outside her house the next day and former Army Ranger Lucas foils the attack. This leads to the need for much more protection for Charlie and substantially more time together.

I am truly enjoying all the books in this series. Ivy Layne seems to have found the right mix of storyline, character development, action, sex and emotion to make each of these stories work, and to allow the series storyline to continue to build and develop, from one book to the next.

Fantastic read

## Great read. I purchased this book immediately after finishing book 7 (Gage's story). I discovered this is a series and am reading completely out of order. No matter, because this book stands perfectly on its own. Kudos to Ms. Layne for that. It takes talent to write a series where each book stands completely on its own, only enhancing it when read in order.

This couple had good chemistry, and the story was interesting. I liked the characters for the most part. Do I wish the heroine hadn't cried so much? That's affirmative. Especially because she kept saying that she never cries (insert eye roll here). Not a big deal. Do I wish the hero didn't mention "this is not long-term" about a hundred times? Of course. Again, not that big of a deal. However, the reason I deducted a star was because 1) the heroine agrees to have a quick, fun, "just sex" affair and it was too cliché that SHE wanted more, SHE was clingy and SHE expected more. And 2) I detest instant forgiveness after the conflict. Other than those minor issues that are mine alone, this was a marvelous book.

I can recommend this one as well as book 7.

Charlotte Winters fell in love with the house first. It was in a fancy part of Atlanta but not the elite section her family is used to. The hot guy she's seen mowing the lawn next door is a bonus, not a deterrent. And when her brother fires her from the family company, it's good that she has a home to retreat to. She certainly can't go to the family home where she's been staying.
Lucas Jackson didn't expect to find Charlotte Winters getting drunk on her brother's $15k Macallan in the middle of the day. Nor did he expect her to demand to be called Charlie. She's bright, gorgeous, and willful. and hot. And she's willing to have a hot, passionate affair. Falling in love isn't part of the bargain. But when someone starts stalking Charlie and she gets attacked, Lucas is only too willing to step in and protect her.
I liked that Lucas figured out that he should let Charlie make her own decisions about their relationship. Too many books have one or the other person breaking up "for the good" of the other person. I wished that Charlie had made her brother sweat a little bit more but at least she didn't forgive him on page 20 or ridiculously early.

It Starts With Some Whiskey...

Charlie Winters is not having a good day. Her oldest brother has both fired her and black balled her "for her own good" and she's furious. She leaves home and goes to the house she's bought and is renovating. After she steals his $15,000 bottle of Macallum. There she downs the bottle and tries to figure out what she's going to do now, who she is now. Along comes her neighbor, "Lawnmower Hottie", and she invites him to share her whiskey and then kisses him.
Lucas Jackson has noticed Charlotte Winters, and noticed her noticing him too. When he finds her sitting on her back porch drinking, he's not sure what to make of it. When she offers him a drink, he accepts. When she kisses him, he returns the kiss and hard--trying to scare her off. When he finds he likes it all too much, he knows this is trouble in the making.
This is a very hot story with characters you love--Charlie is a feisty one and Lucas a bit dark but protective. There's a mystery stalker and appearances from other Winters members from the previous books. A great read!

INTOXICATING - DANGER & MYSTERY

An enticing romantic tale that keeps the reader glued to the story with the dynamic plot, danger, action, mystery, heart-rendering moments, humor, family drama, and burning passionate romance. Of course, there is a heavenly happy ever after but not before all the hurdles are obliterated.

Fabulous fast-paced wonderfully written story that readers will absolutely love. Reality mixed with fantasy makes this a most impressive read. The cast of characters are definitely praise-worthy and come alive with engaging dialogue and picturesque powerful vivid scene descriptions. The back stories of Charlie and Lucas give the reader clear insight into their persona’s and are a bit emotional. Charlie and Lucas' romance is intoxicating and filled with much devotion. I so loved how protective Lucas was and adored Charlie’s sass; never afraid to speak her mind. Both coming from different worlds but making such a loving couple. If you treasure billionaire romance, this is definitely a fantastic book for your library. This is certainly an entertaining read. {I loved this story so much I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.} Without reservations, I recommend this book.

I love a good series by a good author. I love the transitions that connect the characters I love with the characters I am curious about. Charlie and her next-door neighbor, Lucas bring the tension and the heat that are very addictive. The threat from an 'unknown' enemy was okay. It added an element of depth, but I wanted a little bit more. I was interested in learning another piece of the family mystery. I wanted to learn another piece of who murdered her parents and her aunt/uncle. Charlie appears to be aloof, distant and a bit cold in other novels. In this book, Ivy Layne brings her to life. You see her inner struggle to control her emotions and 'find' herself. If you are a fan of this series, I recommend buying this book right away. Dive in! The water is fine. LOL! And I almost forgot to mention LUCAS. Yummy! Who can resist a dominant, dangerous, protective and tender male. What can I say.....anxiously anticipating the next chapter in this saga.

I've read all of the Billionaire books by Ivy Layne (so far), and I've loved every one of them. This one was no exception! I'd liked Charlie in the other books, and I'd hoped to see Lucas again after The Billionaire's Pet.

Lucas and Charlie were fun and great together. I loved his protective mode, but also loved that she didn't let him get too far with it. They were pretty much on equal footing through most of the book, despite their differences, and I loved that.

Aiden actually broke my heart a little bit, and I'm glad Charlie stood up to her brother. I also loved the book-ending of it, how the men in Charlie's life tried to save her from herself, and they both realized their mistakes. It worked for character development, for the central love story, and for the romance.

I also love the continuing clues and resolution of the decades old murders of the parents/aunt and uncle. Can't wait to see how it all ends up!

Charlie

I fell upon this author by accident. Today was my lucky day. I enjoyed reading this book. Looking forward to the next book about Gage. Also Aiden. What did he see in his ex-wife?
Definitely recommend this read.

Aahhhh. A author with clever words.
Lucas asked, dropping his arms to his sides and taking a step closer. I hooked my thumbs in the back pocket of my jeans and took a step toward him myself. Now only a few feet apart, we eyed each other. I was reminded of shows I'd seen on the Nature Channel—two wild animals, cautiously circling, looking for an opening.

Then we'll come back here and I'll f**k you until you beg me to stop." At that absurd thought, I busted out laughing. "Good luck," I said when I got my breath back. "That's not gonna happen. You can f**k me all night and I'll still ask for more. You'll be begging me to leave you alone and let you sleep." "You want to bet?"

The Rebel Billionaire by Ivy Layne. It is the next book in the Winter's stories. This one is about Charlotte Winters, the baby sister. Charlotte has just been let go from her job in the family business by her brother Aiden. He has raised her since the questionable death of her parents. Aiden has decided that Charlotte needs to find what makes her happy and her job does not. Aiden wants to see her more like Charlie. Who she was as a girl growing up. While Charle s showing her independence in house she bought to rehab, she meets hot mower guy from next door. Lucas is hot, tan, and tattoo everything she is not but finds she is drawn to him. Lucas and Charlie's story is filled with thrills and suspense. It was a sexy read that ended well for both parties. Can't wait for next part.

I have loved the Winter's family series since the first book I read. I am looking forward to Aiden;s story as well. Who would have thought buying a rundown craftsman house in a rundown but up an coming area of town would turn out to be a life saver for Charlie. I mean how could Aiden fire her, I mean she has given her all to the company since well forever right. Well Charlie is out for revenge and she will just enjoy watching lawnmower hottie and drink Aidens very expensive whiskey. Oh she was going to love this.
I am not into giving away how it ends but it is safe to say that Charlie does do what Charlie wants. She loves her family but they will not run over her.
This is another hit for Ms Layne her books never fail to make you laugh cry and want more. This book is no exception. Thank you Ms Layne for another wonderful book in the series.

Good one! Loved reading it!!

The plot was interesting! We have some drama, we get to know the family (at least of one MC) and there is some really great chemistry between the MCs.

The writing style?
Definitely good! Everything worked well together and there were hardly any mistakes.

Some points, though...
The whole Truck thing. I guess this is the first novel in which it actually makes sense for the characters to have one. They renovate houses so yeah I get it. And yet, why would she drive a car that she doesn't feel comfortable driving?? And why do so many book boyfriends tell us that we are women and need to be protected and need a truck so that we are safe?? What is with that??

Also, no offence but the women in this series... There is so much talk about them being equals yet they never manage to save themselves but are always the damsels in distress?? Don't get that...

Gosh I like this series. Every couple's story is interesting, romantic and steamy. There is an element of intrigue and some danger that keeps you wanting to turn the page.

Lucas is badass, gorgeous and whip smart. Charlie is stubborn, beautiful and independent. What starts off as a casual no strings, no expectations, just sex affair slowly evolves to so much more. While Lucas is protecting Charlie he falls hard but feels she's too goood for him. After he's from the wrong side of the tracks and she's a Winter's princess. When he finally realizes she wants to be by his side no matter what he hopes it's not too late.

More clues emerge about the mystery of the Winters' parents and aunt and uncles's deaths through the ravings of what seems to be a crazy woman. I have my theories about the crime but I want to read on to find out how the mystery is solved.

I am so in love with this family. As romance goes this is a good one. There is such a good balance of the sexy hot stuff and build up and angst. There is also a gripping backstory that revolves around the murder/suicide of the parents of these characters. After 4 books where all we get is the photos through the letter box we now get a tiny bit more. Arghhhhh Ivy, you're killing us here!
I love reading series where the world of the characters is so well constructed you can almost imagine what each individual character is doing at any one point. This is certainly one of those. I love that Ivy doesn't rush to get these books out and the time she's taking to write is reflected on the quality of the writing. Can't wait for the next one.
