I spent my entire life thinking vampires were the enemy. I was wrong. After spending my nights sleeping around and tormenting the vampire in my head, falling for James is truly the icing on the cake.
But it was all fun and games until I found out the vampire didn't want to be in my head any more than I wanted him to be there.
Not only does he not want to be there. He is sacrificing his own life in order to set me free.
The damn vampire is a martyr, and I’m the one he’s trying to save.
Now I need to do everything in my power to save his life.
A Pull of Moonlight is the second book in Nicole Marie's erotic urban fantasy series. New books to be released every few weeks. These books contain explicit scenes and adult language and are intended for mature audiences.
3.5 Stars SPOILERS THROUGHOUT: I liked this book. It was fast paced and constantly had my attention. It was also short and easy to get into. I made the mistake of starting this book late at night so I didn't want to go to sleep because I wanted to keep reading it. Charlie annoyed me throughout this book. I felt like she was being extremely selfish and I really wanted to slap her. Eric was sacrificing himself to save her from pain and she can't give him a little bit of blood?! I was really angry with her because of that and it made it really hard to finish the book while in her head. Overall, I did enjoy this book. While this will never be my favorite series, it has appeal and I have to admit that the storyline is annoyingly addictive. I will be reading the next installment because I really want to know what will happen next. Though, I am not looking forward to being in Charlie's head.
“Live, he said into my mind. Promise me this much.”
So, A pull of moonlight starts off with Charlie running to Erik to find out what is wrong with him and their connection, and whether there's a way to help. I gotta say, I like that Charlie finally started doing something sensible for a change. I was worried about Erik, especially when there didn't seem to be any changes for the best. And as soon as we solved one problem, we were met with even bigger one. The whole book was a tense and emotional read, where I had no idea what to expect. And then (and I have no idea why I found this to be funny) there was a Twilight moment in the end. “If she doesn’t get warm, she will surely die.” The doctor sounded so matter of fact, not an ounce of concern in his voice. “I can warm her.” James’s growl came from the back of the room.” After that, I just started seeing Twilight in everything. Like their names -Erik/Edward, Jacob/James. And I don't know about you, but I'm still rooting for the vampire, I always though that the werewolf was kind of in the way. Anyway, I'm still loving the series and can't wait for the next book.
Title: A Pull of Moonlight Series: Darkness Bites, #2 Author: Nicole Marie Cliffhanger: Rating: 3.75 Stars
“Live, he said into my mind. Promise me this much.”
The second book in the Darkness Bites series picks up right where the first one left off. Erik is dying and Charlie, having just found out he has sacrificed himself for her, is rushing to him.
I both, liked and didn't like this book more than the first one.
What did not work for me: •Charlie's choices. Some of them made me angry with her, whilst others just disappointed me. •The plot. The story was good, I enjoyed it, however it felt prolonged and not much happened. What worked for me: •Erik. I really loved that there was more of him in this book and that we got to meet him more closely.
“For the first time in two months, my mind was completely blank.”
Overall, I did enjoy the book and will be reading Darkness Bites as I can't wait to find out what will happen next.
“A Pull of Moonlight”, second in the 'Darkness Bites' series, reads more like a gateway than a novel on its own. Charlie's link to Erik is growing weaker. It should be a good thing but she's increasingly worried about him, even as her desire for James is growing. Erik is, of course, impossibly noble and prepared to suffer horribly as long as Charlie is spared. The why of it all is a mystery. As in “A Bitten Curse”, first in the series, the editing is atrocious and if sometimes seems that you're experiencing time travel as the tenses bounce around. One oddity, I suspect based on nationality, is Charlie's drive from London to Oxford:- “The drive was long, and I sped as fast as I could without risking a ticket … It didn’t take long before I arrived.” According to Google it will take you at least 1 hour 40 minutes of driving time. I'm Irish and that would be considered a long drive but if, for example, you live in Texas it might be considered no distance at all. Another strange sentence may or may not make sense, but I couldn't decide:- “Your presence gives me new life, Charlie. You being here seems to have brought me back from uncertain death.” 2 Stars.
Ok so the sexy time in this second book was quite a bit more subdued. There are still quite a few grammatical errors and discrepancies such as her hands being tied behind her head but him being able to lift her shirt up and swing it away. The relationship between she and the vampire was also a bit of a turn off in that she couldn't seem to handle anything and also kept saying she would do anything to help but then say nope can't do that. The vampire deferred everything to her as well which didn't sit right. Love the relationship between she and the wolf and I can't wait to learn more about him. Still no answers on what's going on but we are definitely going deeper into the rabbit hole w regards the strange happenings due to the connection between she and the vamp. Basically we haven't learned anything yet except that she needs to feed him if he is to survive. This ending isn't such a terrible cliffhanger as the blurb leads you to be.
I really like the story in the book. What I did find kind of annoying was a bit of the repetition of not being fully awake for long, which lasted a pretty long time, if you ask me. I do like the characters and I am hoping this turns out to be some type of a reverse harem sort of book because I honestly cannot make up my mind on which guy she should be with. Like, should she pick the shifter, which I am pretty attached to and his awesome shifter friends she hooked up with in the last book, or the vampire, which I am growing to like more but absolutely hate his friends...its a tough choice. I am way too curious about the outcome so now I am off to the next book until this all gets solved.
wow!! Book two carries on from where book one left off. Erik is dying and Charlie feels it through their strange connection. The excitement continues as she falls more for James, but needs her connection to Erik.
The chemistry between the three main characters is amazing, Nicole Marie kept me in the edge of my seat with this exciting, well written read
I highly recommend this book and I am sow excited for book three in this compelling series
This book went by extremely fast and I had more questions after it was finished.
In this book we get to see more of Charlie's relationship Roth both Erik and James. Lots of action and plenty of mystery. Charlie goes from healthy and living to barely alive and close to death. But get heat is torn in two as both men fight for her love. Love has a way of passing games and the games Charlie is involved in can treat her heart in two.
This is an excellent second book. Story is exciting, characters are constantly being developed, however, there is another cliffhanger. I'm waiting until the last 2 books are published so I can read them straight through. Minus a half a point for editing but the story is so good, I still highly recommend it.
This one the story and emotions are a bit more intense. Now you really get to know the other people in Charlie's life. sure it's a bit about her emotions and what she wants. But you learn more about everyone else's feelings and history too.
It started losing me at the end. It feels rushed and no one is trying to figure out what she is. I didn't feel the pull to this book like I have other series. It was just meh.
This second book keeps up the heat and adds more mystery to the story. You are not really sure what she should do as she wrestles with her choices and their consequences. I felt much more connected to the characters and strongly suspect what kind of complications will be added soon to the mix. I recommend reading the books in order. Each book is a pretty quick read.
This is more exciting than the last. I liked that was wasn't able to anticipate anything is this book. Eric...James...Eric...James...hmmm, I can't make up my mind. I vote for both. I loved this book. It's not just your every day shifter/vampire story. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I don't know what the hype was about?? I didn't find this one THAT good😂 i mean Erik was a bit annoying and weird meanwhile the other dude (lol i forgot his name) was very natural, didn't think much bout him more than that he is good in bed. Lol
