This is a short novella about the vampires genesis

And if Lucifer had excuses? And if Michael was not the goody goody Arcangel everyone believe him to be?

I've read JL Myers Blood Bound series from start to end for years now. I've even stalked her to get her last installment as soon as possible because it was so addictive! Now with Fallen Angel she lifts the veil on the vampires genesis.

And who is their creator? Lucifer himself!

This very short read portays Lucifer under an interesting light. He had excuses! He only wanted the same freedom as the precious humans. Humans sinned all the time and were forgiven whereas Lucifer would not have one ounce of free will even if he's been the model Arcangel for millenia. How fair is that?

Well his desire to be free will be his downfall. Now kicked out of Heaven, his wings non existent, not human but not angel either he'll provoke God time and again. He wants God to react! To see him! But God well never lower himself to speak to Lucifer.

Arcangel Michael will take great pleasure in teaching Lucifer a lesson, going waaaay beyond what's expected from an Arcangel.

Only Gabriel, Lucifer's love will try to make him ask for forgiveness. Honestly Gabriel was the only adult of the bunch! The guys were...guys, fighting each other and dead set defending their positions but missing the global picture. Business as usual :-D

Now where does the creation of vampires fits into it all you say? Well that's for you to discover reading this book!

Parting note: I would really, really, really like other readers to give the Blood Bound series a chance. This novella is only an appetizer but I swear this series fall into the category "books you'd like would be better known" for me.

I found Fallen Angel to be beautifully written, entertaining, and undeniably fascinating. I'm right in the middle of the Blood Bound series, and to see how it all started, this world J.L. Myers has created and woven around the characters, was very intriguing. The book has an epic feel, this great battle inside Lucifer between good and evil, and I couldn't put it down!
There are no spoilers for the main book in the series, yet having read books 1 and 2, the backstory in this book is a great companion, an explanation of the beginnings of the vampire race in Blood Bound's world.
5 stars- I loved it!!

This story was good, based on God the Ark Angels and how Lucifer lost his wings. I found this story intriguing, and really enjoyed it. It's not a really long story, and is nicely paced.

That Lucifer is one bad dude, not willing to change for nothing. Not even the one person he was really close to the Angel Gabriel. Gabriel tries so hard to help Lucifer, even putting her own well-being in jeopardy. Very interesting and kept my attention throughout the whole book.

Lucifer was once an angel and God's servant. Angels are not free to do whatever they want. Everything comes down to the jobs that God has assigned to them. Lucifer fell in love with Gabriel, because he couldn't resist her beauty and her goodness. It's this love that caused Lucifer to be banished from heaven. On earth he has to live a human life, but he soon finds out that he still has more power than he thought. What will Lucifer do about all the hatred he's feeling inside?

Lucifer wasn't a bad angel or human. He just wanted to be free. The fact that his God left him to fend for himself left deep scars on his soul. Lucifer loves Gabriel dearly, but even with her pleading him to do better he can't return to the angel he was before. Lucifer thrives on power and he's a master at manipulation. Although he makes a lot of decisions that are pure evil I still understood where he was coming from. Lucifer's heart is wounded and he feels betrayed. However, Gabriel is persistent and I couldn't wait to discover if Lucifer would eventually be able to heal with the help of her love.

Fallen Angel is a unique and new look on how heaven and hell were formed. It also tells an interesting story about the origin of vampires. I loved the way J.L. Myers brought in a different and unique perspective. Lucifer is always seen as a fallen angel, but this story shows his feelings and indicates that he might not be so bad after all. I love reading about ancient times and J.L. Myers positively surprised me with this beautiful, thought-provoking story. I have been a fan ever since I read What Lies Inside and I can't wait to start reading the next book by this amazing author.

One pissed off angel. One angel in love. Cast out from the one he loves. He retaliates using the one thing he still has his blood. I have never seen this turn on Lucifer's fall from Heaven. I do kinda grab a book that says angels and run with it and boy was I surprised at the direction this author took it. I was intrigued and pulled in and yeah I want more. Loads of action and characters that made me go hmm.

I haven't read this author's work before but I must admit I am gonna have to read more. This is said to be a standalone but it feels like it isn't done so I will be taking a look at the next book in the series as well.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review. This review may contain spoilers.

The novella starts us out with the fall of Lucifer, God’s favorite arch angel. God cast Lucifer from Heaven for going against his views about his love of the human race, his creations. Lucifer sees them as vile creatures who squander God’s gift of free will, something Lucifer himself wants. Gabriel is the only one who wants to save Lucifer and make him come back to into God’s graces, but his love for Gabriel is not enough.

J.L. Meyers takes us on a through the tale of how Lucifer fell from heaven and his fall into hell, creating some of the most terrifying monsters we know today. Meyer’s creates a dark story, showing not only the fall but Lucifer’s own feelings and transformations. This novella leaves you wanting to know, wishing it was a full novel. This book is well written with few errors, I had to read some passages of the book twice to understand them but that does nothing against the storytelling that happens and how the story grips into you and all you want is more.

I just love – love – love how we get the scoop on where it all began.
If you haven’t read the Blood Bound series, then this novella will not be as exciting to you as it is to me. This is where the original 12 family members started.
Lucifer’s fall from heaven. His struggle with himself and the way he feels and views the human race. His accidental creation that will forever change the world.
Michael, an archangel, wants to rid the world of all evil including Lucifer.
If there is one angel that can help, save, or even persuade Lucifer. Its Gabriel.
Gabriel is another archangel, she sees the good in everyone. She knows Lucifer can be redeemed. He just needs to repent his sins. Gabriel is determined to help Lucifer see reason and bring him back no matter the cost.

“They do not follow God. Many Gods are their idols. They kill and rape in their names. They create wars not only in God’s name, but also in other’s to feed their greed of power, wealth, and control. They do not deserve what God has given—”

My favorite quote from the book, I really like this short story.
It was really different from any other books that I have read, mostly because the main character was Lucifer, but still a really nice and fast read.

You think you know the story of the Devil, but you don't. You think it's so easy to see why Lucifer fell, but it's not. He didn't want the throne. He didn't want power. He didn't want much. No. Lucifer just wanted Love. The most pure emotion to ever exist. God had created it and gifted it to man, but had denied it to his Angels. Why? He claimed they were made out of love, but Lucifer knew better. He knew God just wanted servants! Dogs to do what God would not do! So he challenged him to admit he was wrong. That's all he wanted. And for that, he was cast out. In this epic continuation of the Origin story of Lucifer, you will learn what REALLY happened between God and his Archangels. Between Lucifer and his beloved Gabriel. How the pettiness and jealousy of the Archangel Michael sent the Heavens spiraling out of control, and Lucifer on a path that could not be contained. The beginning of Lucifer's creations and how Hell came to be. You have never read an Origin story like this. This one is fantastic, brilliant, and breath-taking. The pages are full of waves of emotional turmoil and heart stopping joy. But when the last page turns, be prepared...you're going to beg for book 3!! Right now, Fallen Angel 2: Dawn of Reckoning is available as a novella. So get your hands on it while you can!! Because very very soon, it's going to be a new and improved full length book!! And you're going to love it!!!

The author kinda makes you feel sorry for the Devil!! If you've read the Blood Bound series and you were wondering how the Vampire race came about, you NEED to read this book!! I love that Gabriel never gave up on Lucifer, even though he seems to be his own worst enemy. And this is probably one of the best vampire origin stories ever!!

I have to say, I really enjoyed this origin novella into the world J.L. Myers created in her Blood Bound Series. Not having yet read any of the other books I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but I was pleasantly surprised. The writing style was fresh and immersive, pulling me into the story right from the beginning. And even though the subject matter with its use of God and the devil may cause pause for some, I have to admit that it’s because of its use of religious figures along with the fall of a certain archangel from heaven that made for a very interesting and unique spin on how the vampire race began. I very much look forward to reading the rest of books in the series.

*I have received an ARC in exchange for First off, Lucifer and Gabriel were just amazing characters in this book. I just couldn't put this book down. I just devoured, and devoured. The only thing I am sad about is that I have to wait a while before the next installment gets released.

Now, the characters. Lucifer and Gabriel were extremely strong characters. I liked how each of them started developing their own personalities and became stronger when they were apart. Instead of downing in sorrows, both of them tried to be together. And, they weren't passive characters. I liked how their trials in this novel made them stronger. Resilience of both of them made me fall in love with this novel.

Secondly, the romance was extremely realistic. I loved how the writing made you connect with the characters. The poetic sort of way really showed the true emotions both lovers went through. I really felt myself crying for both of them, and I rarely get strong emotions for both characters. In addition, I liked how the sexiness kind of was less in this novel. It was very realistic for the novel. The characters just held each other, not go at it, and that was very much needed.

The world building and twists were amazing. I just felt my heart wrench for each ordeal the characters had to go through. I loved the expansion on angels and their vulunerabilities. My favorite thing about the novel was how true angels loved each other. The author is rewriting the definition of what it means to be an angel.

In conclusion, one-click this book. You are going to love it. Just be prepared to root for two flawed characters, whose inner strength makes you fall in love with them little by little.an honest review

Lucifer, Man and Sin

(Disclaimer: I was provided a Copy of the book. I read it and decided to provide my honest review.) Fallen Angel: Dawn of Reckoning book 1 of the Blood Bound series is a novella about Lucifer, Man, and Sin. This is the trifecta only a die-hard reader could hope for and J. L. Myers is the author to write it. What an excellent read! I read this book in one read because I c-o-u-l-d not put it down. Each page you turned was so compelling it urged you on to turn the next and it went on and on as if it became a game that you quickly lost. I only admitted it when I looked down and in shock asked how I was at 80% of the book being read? Titillating? Questioning? Humbling? Hubris? Soulful? YES. At the end of the book, I sat and just thought about what I read that unknowingly tears were running down my face. Myers, you are one great storyteller. MY RECOMMENDATION: Buy the book because reading it once will not be enough. After reading, I couldn’t get to Amazon fast enough to click “Buy-Now.” I plan to read it again. When you are ready to read Fallen Angel make sure you are comfy and settle in for a great story and just in case take tissues with you. Enjoy. –Tex.

This short story is a prequel to JL Myers' Blood Bound series.

Lucifer has been thrown out of Heaven, and even though the angel Gabriel tries to vouch for him, the other angels want him banished to Earth. After being banished to Earth, he decides to attack God's creations, humans, and turn them against Him.

This story shows the creation of vampires in a unique way that I absolutely loved. I have owned the first book in the Blood Bound series for ages, but I never got into it. Now I can't wait to read it, simply because this short story was so good! I felt sorry for Lucifer who seemed to make the wrong decisions every time that drove him out of Heaven. I also liked his side story with Gabriel.

If you are interested in reading the Blood Bound series, I would definitely recommend that you start with this book. Even if you aren't interested in that series, try this short story out. You will not be disappointed.

Fallen angel Lucifer was cast out of heaven to do his angelic duty after he'd challenged God. All Lucifer wanted was freedom and love but his discontent causes him to lose his wings and fuels his resentment. Lucifer comes up with a diabolical plan to get God's attention but when God ignores him, Lucifer ups his game. When the beautiful angel Gabriel, Lucifer's love, tries to stop him from his path of self destruction, he forces her to leave. Gabriel's visit with Lucifer puts him in danger from arch angels Michael and Remiel, who decide to take matters into their own hands. Is this be the end for Lucifer? Note, this book ends on a cliff hanger and I can't wait to read Book 2 of the Blood Bound Origins series.

J.L. Myers delivers an action-packed, suspenseful and exciting story that's a page turner

I enjoyed this story. It's an interesting read and take on Lucifer. This story is well written. It's something that I would consider religious because the story is about Lucifer, Gabriel, archangels and God. Now it is an interpretation and written as a fictional story but the religious aspect is a huge part of the book. I think it's well done and it's not trying to push an agenda on the reader. I think it's well done and the flow is pretty good. Things move along at a decent pace. This is the second book in the series and I definitely think you need to have read the first book to really understand what's going on between the characters. This book does end without a happy for now or happily ever after ending but it's not really a cliffhanger either. It's not a favorite of mine by J. L. Myers but it's still a good book and a good read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I actually really enjoyed reading this, although at times it wasn't an easy read it was a heavy kind of book. I haven't read the rest of the blood bound series but just reading this one makes me want to read the rest of the series. This story was deep and meaningful, it took me a while to get into because of the mix of God and the devil but it had underlying lessons throughout, compassion and forgiveness. I very much enjoyed this twist story of how the vampire race began it wasn't expected and I loved that this wasn't predictable either. I liked some of the characters more than others and had a great distaste for archangel Michael in this one due to his arrogance and sly behaviour all apparently in the name of God.

What a fantastic origin story for the Blood Bound novels! I'm not very familiar with actual angel lore other than the basics (unless you count the Supernatural TV show), so this tale really brought Lucifer, Gabriel, and Michael to life. Additionally, we see how the first vampires were created, as well as how they made a deal to walk in the light. The entire story was told from a third person perspective, but much of it focused on Lucifer's thoughts and actions - which makes sense since the title is "Fallen Angel." The world has a very ancient feel, with kings, swords, and battles, and it feels like it takes place in biblical times.

Fallen Angel:Dawn of Reckoning(Blogs Bound Origins Novels Book1)

I have this book the stars only because the length was a little too short for me,I really don't like when an author writes small books and you have to keep buying more to finish a story. I did enjoy the story,I liked the way Gabriel was portrayed as a woman that was interesting the book started out really well it was just as I said, as soon as it started to get really interesting the book was over and you need to read the next book to find out what happened.. It wad a good read otherwise but I'm not sure if I will recommend it to my friends.

Book Review

The cover on this book is interesting! This is the first book in the series. This is the story where we meet Lucifer and why he failed. Then we are taken on Lucifer’s journey. Despite Lucifer nature, he does have one weak spot. This one weak spot brings a twist to the story. The story also introduces Saint Michael and other angels.I highly recommend this book to anyone. My reason is the one strong message about never assume. This is why I give the book five stars. I am looking forward to the rest of the series!

Truly remarkable short story with a definite biblical influence. Lucifer is thrown to earth as punishment for his disobedience. A horrific scene I will not delve into for fear of spoiling it. Gabriel a female angel who Lucifer loves, because she is the only one to ever see good in him. Michael and Remiel are angels trying to save her from her own foolish love for Lucifer. In the middle of the story it twist. Lucifer has fallen to what used to be the Persian empire when it was a young and savage land. All his intentions are bad. Many surprises in such a short tale.

J.L. Myers’s Fallen Angel 2: Dawn of Reckoning is a powerfully great novel. Gabriel and Lucifer’s love is beautiful and painful, genuine despite the fact that we are talking about angels (whether or not fallen). This is the sort of book that you simply cannot put down once you start. Truly amazing. Trust me. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

Once again Lucifer has choices, but will he make the right ones? I felt so sorry for Lucifer. He falls further and further into a spiral of bad choices and evil. His only crime? Love. But he has been deliberately sabotages by Michael (the good angel??). In this book Lucifer finally gives up on getting any redemption. He tests God. Wants God to finally do something about humans. And he turns the humans into worse killers than they already are. And what about Gabriel? Can she ever save Lucifer? And Michael’s jealousy? Will he finally go too far?

A fast paced, easy read that grabs you from the start and keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through. This book is a retelling of Lucifer's fall from grace and the origin of vampires all rolled together. This book has strong characters and a great plot that holds your attention. This story is a wonderful foundation for the books that follow in the blood bound series. It will draw you in and keep you reading until the end and leave you wanting more

This book takes a different take on the main archangels. I will admit it started out a little slow, but as you got further in the book it became more interesting. It show a different way on how vampires came to be. I don't know how the series will go because this book in the series you could read alone.

Can't get enough

Words can't describe how much I love this series! As a Christian, I feel safe saying we often forget that Lucifer was once among the most loved of angels. This book shows that and puts into human comprehension how easily that favor can be lost. Off now to read more of the series. Hope everyone else enjoys this series as much as I do.
