USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and New York Times bestselling author Margo Bond Collins is a former college English professor who, tired of explaining the difference between "hanged" and "hung," turned to writing romance novels instead. Partial review for Renascent by Paris Andren. Wow. Honestly I am not a huge fan of fantasy books. The blurb got my attention and from the first scene I had to know what will happen to that little girl. Then I started reading U though how weird to read about shifters and magic. But the further I read the more I got so intrigued in the story. All the things she could hear and had to endure. Gosh. I started reading faster just to know what would happen next. I read the book in one afternoon. Could not put it down. Great work Paris. We went to Paris and back once again. Love the writing style and adventure. Thanks for the ARC

Great Collection of stories overall a five-star read.
There were some amazing stores in the collection, some great five-star reads and one or two not so great, but I went for five stars overall as the good stories definitely outweigh the not so great ones.
Lightning Struck by Miranda Hardy a fantastic five-star read. This is the story of Elysia a young Roma girl who hasn’t had an easy life, and has spent it on the run. The Roma have always been hunted as they have special gifts. This is a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, it’s a thrilling ride from the first page to the last, and you won’t be disappointed.

by Ann Gimpel, J.L. Weil, D.N. Leo, Melle Amade, Chloe Garner, Ainsley Shay, Paris Andren, T.F. Walsh, Felicia Starr, Megan Linski, P.E. Padilla

This Collection has a great story in it. I enjoyed reading Ann Gimpel's Tarnished Beginnings its book one and the prequel to the Soul Dance series. Ann Gimpel's book is one of the series that is a must read and the reason that I have this Collection. However that's what I like about a Collection of books each book focuses on a different characters by authors that are talented. I enjoy reading new authors that I haven't read before. In a Box set you will love some and others not so much. But the characters in each of these novellas are well written with the situations they find themselves in are very interesting and for the way their situations are resolved happily keep's me reading each book. I always enjoy how all the stories come together. Here is a sweet short read that introduces you to a new world where things are more than they seem. A very nice romance that has a wonderful HEA. If you're looking for a pleasurable, short read with a awesome theme, this is a great pick! I would highly recommend this Collection of Books!

This story takes place in the 1700 and it's about Tairin Jabari who is half werewolf and Romanian but Tairin is unaware of being a werewolf until she shifts for the first time. It's a exciting,on the edge of your seat story!

Since I haven't completed the entire boxset I am putting in reviews as I read each book. So far I have read:
Torrent by Megan Linski - I love angels and loved this story. Rescues, betrayals, nephilims, demons, angels. I love it the more the merrier. This author does a wonderful job of telling the story of high school seniors finding their way and learning who they are. The world that was known to the guys was new to her. So much to learn so much to do. I hope we learn more and would love this to be the introduction into the lives of these 3. Exciting and fun! Great characters who you can't help but love and want to encourage. Usually with YA's I have to remind myself they are teens and go with it from that angle. This read while it is a YA doesn't read like one. The characters are mature and the dialogue is not excessive and annoying. Thank you author!!!

Taming the Rougarou by Felicia Starr - She had no idea the power she had or who she was for that matter. But when she is left with no options she becomes all she needs for her friends/family. Great read with awesome characters and plot.

The Last Daughter - Monica Leonelle - Serena has come out of hiding to find out what happened to her sister and her sisters children. This is one of the series of books on this family the daughters of Michael. Love this story and it is a great addition to the series.

Darkness There Margo Bond Collins - Loads of excitement and intrigue shifters of all types and a war to avoid! Can't get more exciting than that unless you include the steaminess we are teased with between possible mates.

Second Sight J.A. Culican - Learning you have this skill is one thing. Learning to live with it and make it work to aid is another. Lots of action and intrigue, lies and deception. Great read and characters!

Forever Fated Melle Amade - what would you do to be with your fated love? Break a curse?? Lost love, time travel, Domani.

Fire at Crossroad D.N. Leo - We find out more about the daughter of Ciaran and Madalyn and the shadow. Love this story and how it fits in the Multiverse even further in the future as she teams up with Michael from the past to deal with the Shadow. Can't wait for more of this.

The author takes us on an adventure back in time to vampires, witches and hunters in the streets of Venice. This amazing, well written story will keep you intrigued with its twists and turns of murder, lies, deceit, power and love.
Sophia is a witch who envisioned a couple sailing on a ship. He sees her and reaches out to her scaring her from the vision. She is intrigued by the man in the vision and wants to find out more about him.
Gavin is a hunter to destroy vampires. He has on several occasions made it known to Sophia how much he loves her and wants her, but she doesn't feel the same way. More of a brotherly love.
Mila is a young vampire who cherishes her master, Dorian. She would do anything to protect him. Will the Snow Maiden find her true love?
Dorian has been chasing a mortal and has let his coven down. Fanti and Mila had to step up to keep things running smoothly or did they?
The plague has struck town, killing people daily. Bodies floating up in water. Who will be sentenced for this crime?
I would recommend this book to vampire lovers.
I'm volunteering an honest review for an advance reader's copy.

How can you go wrong with this Anthology. A great price for all these books. I bought the anthology because it was full of new books by a bunch of new authors I have recently found in the last 6 months. So a great price to feed my book habit. As of right now I have only read 2 of the books because I got advance copies.

David J. Normoyle's The Mage Team is more an urban fantasy story that was a great read. Full of a few twists and humor because what else will you get when add a bunch of people who would never talk to each other into a team to save the world. Book 1 in a new series it was as good as I thought it would be. Liked the monkey.

P.E. Padilla's Wanderers Song is a great epic type fantasy that starts out soon after Aeden was born and follows him as he grows with skipping to the good parts, like his sword training and magic training so we really understand him. Liked the few surprises that happened next and liked hating a few of his fellow trainees.

I have high hopes for the rest of the stories as they were written by good authors. There is a mix of fantasy sub-genres to read.

Great set
Ann Gimpel - Tarnished beginnings
This is the start of Tairin Jabari's life story. It starts in Egypt the haven of Magic - wielders. Her mother was a gypsy and her father is a wolf shifter. The two of them being together was not permitted but having a child was forbidden and not acepted in either tribe. At thirteen Tairin had lost everything on her own in a hostile land and time where women had no rights and no protection.
I normally don't read historical stories but since one of my favorite authors wrote it I did and wow was it great. It held my attention and it was full of avtion, drama and mystery. I really enjoyed the characters their so well written and the storyline is awesome. There is more to this series and I can't wait to the others books. Don't miss it Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.

Tarnished Beginnings by Ann Gimpel: Captivating! - This book is fascinating and worth reading. This is the first in her series "Soul Dance". It's a true prequel and a great foundation for the rest of the books to follow. I haven't read any of the other books in this box set as I was given an advanced copy of this book. Ann Gimpel has done it again and those who know her work won't be disappointed. Those who are new to her can expect the same high quality work and storytelling as in this anthology. For both groups, this series is not your typical paranormal storyline, plus this line of storytelling will be new to her faithful readers... At least it was for me and I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to jump in to Tarnished Legacy, Book 2. Enjoy!

Review for Blood Fortune:
After Sophia has a vision of darkness and death coming to Venice while in church, she is thrown out accused of being possessed by the devil. Sophia seeks her best friend Gavin, a member of the group that hunts vampires. One night Sophia comes face to face with the man in her vision, Dorian. He recognizes her though she doesn't understand why. One of the vampires he made, Mila, runs into Gavin. With a game of cat and mouse, who really is on the good side? And will the good come out ahead before it's too late and they are betrayed by those they trust? Amazing story, can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Review for Lightning Struck by Miranda Hardy

From the first line, this was a thrilling race to the end. The mystery and suspense surrounding Elysia kept building. I wanted to know who was chasing her, who was helping her. Why did her father separate from her and what happened to him? Why did her aunt dislike her so much? Why was she so drawn to Colin and why did his touch soothe her gift? How do you break the curse? A lot of these questions are answered, but not all. This is part one of a two part story. I was left with questions and a desire to know how it ends, but I was not left with a cliffhanger.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this story.

This story was released as part of the Magic After Dark box set. This is a dark tale that takes you to the 1770’s when fear of witches could and did get you killed. Sophia has the sight and has visions of a dark man who leaves a trail of death. The conflict between her heart and mind is what really brings this story to life. The fact that it takes place in Venice only adds to the tale. If you don’t mind the dark I recommend this story. I’ve not read the rest of this box set yet but had to share the delight that is Blood Fortune. This story alone makes the set worth the price.

Review is for Tarnished Beginnings so far, will add more as I read them.

Tarnished Beginnings - Ann Gimpel - Romani and Shifters aren't supposed to fall in love much less marry and have children in secret. That secret is about to break free. Tairin is 13 and due to things beyond her control she is on her own exploring the world around her. This is a pretty interesting beginning to the Tarnished series. I can't wait to see what the future hold for Tairin, the Romani and shifters.

Review of wanderers Song:
Book one of this series is spot on perfect! The characters are endearing and glued me to their quest! Love that there are hints of romance but this isn’t a romance tale. There is a strong bond between Aedan and those he gathers on his journey. This storyline truly captures the meaning of an epic fantasy tale! Really looking forward to book 2. This voluntary review is based against an advance copy.

A spellbinding collection of stories. This talented group of authors will feed the imagination, leaving you unable to quit reading until you've finished each and every book. All are fabulous. But if I had to pick a favorite, I'd pick Hibernian Charm by Dean Wilson. I'm a fan of his many books and it was his contribution that drew me to this collection. However, I was enthralled by the other selections.

5-Stars For RENASCENT

I read Paris Andren's other 2 books and I wanted to read this author again, but I had never read Urban Fantasy before. I was captivated from the very beginning to the very end!! I cannot wait to read another of her fantastic stories and eagerly await the second in this series. I highly recommend you read Renascent!! I loved her main character and the emotional journey that she took us on.

Can't wait to read the other books in this set!

Kindle Unlimited, horrible at names but recognized some and wanted to use ku before plunked the money down even if it had been 99 cent instead of 2.99, definitely glad read though it first but not glad to have read it, as with the exception of a couple of stories very very sorry to have wasted my time and realize this is why more and more I have stopped pre-buying anthologies. Amazon was a 2/don't like but to make it match goodreads would have to drop to a 1 star so just made them equal.

An interesting mix

This is an interesting mixture of different stories for everyone.
Yes, there were a few I skipped, but then there were also a couple where I hunted down the next in the series.
So I found it worth it.

I loved that all the stories were brand new. The editor, however, should be taken out back and shot. Never before have I seen such bad editing!!!!!

A wonderful beginning to a new series that is filled with magical gypsies, wolf shifters, vampires and the hunters of both. A young girl, overhearing an argument between her parents, finally learns why she feels different. She has learned that the dreams she's had since she was little, were in fact, her other half trying to reach her. She suffers the loss of her parents, one through abandonment the other through a horrific death by their own gypsy tribe. Having learned what she really is, she barely escapes her people, who are now trying to destroy her. Finally accepting the truth she goes through her first change, with help from her newly discovered bond. Trying to find her father, whom she hopes will help explain what's happening as well as be accepted by his “family, they barely escape death by vampires and hunters as well. Tarnished Beginnings is a story of a young girl overcoming her fear of becoming a woman and learning how to accept and live with what she is. It's filled with a longings for family love, and accepting what must be. I can't wait to read what adventures, dangers and maybe loves are in her future. I recommend this book to lovers of the paranormal and all the many things that go with it.

Overall this set gets 4 stars. If you love magic and fantasy, this is a set of stories you have to get! Add in some diverse writers (Ann Gimple, Margo Bond Collins, and D.N. Leo to name three) and it gets even better. The variety of authors and storylines will keep you riveted for many hours. I even found a couple of new authors (new to me anyways) that I want to read more from. There are a variety of stories, some are short quick reads and others are longer. Some violence and hot and steamy scenes so 18+. You cannot go wrong with this set. There are stories for everyone included.

So far I have read three of the included books. Tarnished Beginnings by Ann Gimpel is the first book in her Soul Dance series and it is worth purchasing the set just for this book. Darkness There by Margo Bond Collins is another great story. And Fire at Crossroad by D.N. Leo is the prequel to the Shadow Hunter Trilogy.
