From the best-selling author of Alibi Aficionado and Blackmail Broker comes the next installment in Edwin Burrows' story: Conspiracy Connoisseur!
Back home in Portland, OR, Edwin Burrows struggles with his mother's illness, his self-pity, and the loneliness of life without the woman he loves. But when a partner at a local accounting firm inquires about his unique services, Edwin starts to surface from the dark side.
In this unique case, the firm's wealthy clients need someone to investigate their son's alleged murder charge. Not whether their son committed the crime (everyone is pretty sure Trevor Ramsey murdered his third wife's lover after catching them doing the deed), but whether he was justified in doing it, or if he truly is the mentally unstable, borderline psycho that the world has made him out to be.
With his cash flow running low after paying for his mother's care and no longer working a steady nine-to-fiver as a CPA, Edwin sees the opportunity to prove what has already been proven as easy income. So he takes the case and quickly discovers that the only person who could ever live with a psycho is, well, another psycho.
Follow Edwin's journey into the depths of human nature, the crazy things people (Edwin included) will do in the name of love, and see whether Trevor Ramsey really was justified in killing the man that ruined his marriage.
Harvey Church has a background in finance, which is how he found himself writing about the people and ridiculousness (sometimes the same thing) of that field in his Edwin Burrows light mystery series. Although he considers himself retired from that field (aka not working), he's planning another three Edwin Burrows novels for 2018.
His first "serious" novel, The Last Friend, is a Kindle Scout writing competition winner and was published by Kindle Press on January 9, 2018. The BookLife Prize called it "an entertaining read for mystery and thriller fans alike," and said it is "an unexpected and exciting series of events that will grab readers." Harv plans two sister novels to The Last Friend in 2018, one titled The Last Night (Spring 2018) and the other tentatively titled The Last Survivor.
For fun, Harv likes to practice street magic and spends hours engineering tricks to wow his audiences. He is also an avid hockey fan (Go Leafs Go). As for the boring details: He has a wife (incredible) and two kids (depends on the day, but they’re normally incredible too). His favorite color is blue, but he drives a black car because he read somewhere, back in the 90’s, that radar detectors have a tough time seeing them. Interestingly, he never speeds because he's too busy singing like nobody's watching, or maybe it's that everybody is deaf.
He's a supporter of double-chins, double-dates, and double-dipping (though never on double-dates), and obviously enjoys writing about himself in the third person, in the voice of the narrator from The Royal Tenenbaums.

Harvey Church has done it again! In Conspiracy Connoisseur the third Edwin Burrows Mystery, Mr. Church is again providing readers with a cozy mystery solved by the lovable-loser accountant.
Edwin Burrows is becoming one of my all-time favorite literary characters. He is average. He isn’t successful with the ladies. He isn’t even particularly successful in his career. However, he has good intentions, a kind heart and a great, self-deprecating sense of humor. He knows most of his shortcomings (although he is slow to understand he isn’t much of a ladies’ man).
While Edwin steadily bumbles his way through solving a murder mystery, author Harvey Church provides readers with an insiders-view of Portland, Oregon (where Edwin has relocated to care for his ailing mother). Mr. Church’s wit and wry humor pepper this series with some serious chuckles. The banter between Edwin and his sometime sidekicks, Rachel and Bentall, as well as his inner dialogue and doubts are hilarious. Throughout the book, I wondered how much character Edwin Burrows resembles author Harvey Church. Speaking of sidekicks, the sharp-tongued Rachel has a newborn named Eloise. Baby Eloise is a show-stealer, and even Edwin warms up to the chubby cherub despite her tendency to punch and slap at his face.
From the first page to the last, Conspiracy Connoisseur is an engaging page-turner. Charming characters, humor and an intriguing murder mystery make Harvey Church’s latest novel a must read!
This is a really interesting murder mystery. One body, a woman who likes men and has multiple. affairs. A very cute baby her mother, and the unemployed accountant eating as an investigator to prove the man charged with the murder had justification to do so.
The result of the investigation will undoubtedly shock you!
I love this series! The characters play off of one another in a good way. It makes for a fun and fast moving mystery. Each book leaves you with a lot of questions and you really want answers to these questions so I’m going right into the next book in this series. I highly recommend this series for anyone looking for a new twist on murder mysteries.
Good book, Personally I think the book was a little bit overly descriptive in places+ I feel like Edwin was too closely stalking the main suspect to be authentic. I'd happily read book another book in the series.
Love this series about Edwin the accountant turned investigator! He’s back with Rachel and her new baby to find out if a client‘ starts son actually killed another man. Lots of twists and turns. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Conspiracy Connoisseur by Harvey Church is the next book in the Edwin Burrows mysteries and it is just as wonderful as the first two books. I can never get enough of Harvey’s unique and fun writing style. I have been so excited to get my hands on this next book and I was right to be. It’s such an enjoyable story to read.
Edwin and Rachel are on the case again in this third book and you’ll never be able to see what’s coming. I was blown away with the turn of events. I love how I’m always on the edge of my seat and trying to place the clues together, but still I don’t guess who the real villain is until its right in my face.
If you love stories that capture your interest, keep you guessing, and have romance and humor, then you need to read this series. I give Conspiracy Connoisseur by Harvey Church 4 out of 5 mysterious STARS.
The story was good, but the main characters are somewhat irritating. I have the urge to make them stand in the corner, until they grow up. This is the second book of the series, I have read. I missed the second book. I’m not sure if I’ll read another, but the storyline is really good, so again I may read another.
I absolutely loved this book! The investigation side of things is very well done, but what I really love is the humour that is lightly interspersed during the stressful moments to provide comic relief.
I’ve already bought the new book and I’m off to read it right now!
Edwin is in Portland visiting his mother daily and doing little else after being fired 6 months earlier from his Chicago Accounting firm. A friend shows up with her new baby and a job offer from his her dad. Edwin bumbles his way through the murder investigation with help from his friends and is finally able to solve the case. Great reading series.
A somewhat inept Edwin gets himself tied up into another mystery to solve. This book made me laugh in many places because Edwin is certainly an entertaining character. It would be helpful to have read the other books in this series so you understand some of the characters better.
I almost stopped reading this at the 15% mark. Just couldn't get into it. Then I turned the page and it got better. Eloise made it fun. The accountant finally solved the murders.
