A secluded cabin. A sexy loner. And a woman in need of a little excitement. The perfect combination? Or a recipe for disaster? ● ● ● If fate hadn't intervened, Jordyn Kraig and Murphy Baldwin never would have met. When her car went off the road, she sought shelter and found more than she could have dreamed of. After only a few days, Jordyn and Murphy formed a bond neither of them expected or could deny. Unfortunately, Murphy had secrets too deep and shameful to share. And Jordyn's life was far away in the city.
They said goodbye. But couldn't forget.
Two years earlier, Murphy Baldwin's perfect life exploded into a million pieces. And he had no one to blame but himself. Now, he has a second chance. A chance at redemption. However, if Murphy takes the offer, he could lose something even more precious than the last remnants of his tattered reputation. He could lose the only woman he's ever loved.
In a perfect world, Murphy and Jordyn would find a way to be together. But they'd discovered long ago nothing worth having is easy. Besides, who needs perfection when the person you love makes every day feel like the first time?
I love books, I always have and always will. Writing is an extension of that and though it has taken me a while to get here, I now can officially call myself a published author. I grew up on a ranch in Eastern Washington, so I wanted to set my books on the Columbia River in Washington state. Harper Falls is completely fictitious, but I think anyone from the area will know right where it would be if it did exist. My hobbies are gardening, reading, baking(fattening desserts are my favorite), exercise(I don't love it, but it is necessary due to the desserts), and animals. I had a dog but when he died I couldn't bring myself to replace him. That is why I wrote Edgar, the dog into "If I Loved You", I consider him my surrogate puppy until I can get a real one. I love to get feedback on my books so I hope everyone will feel free to leave a question or visit my website(it is a work in progress, but I'm getting there). My Facebook page is up and running, please stop by for a look and a like. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mary-J.... I'm also on twitter https://twitter.com/maryjwilliams05
Perfect, perfect and perfect! Mary J Williams has hit a home run when it came to writing this one! The storyline had me by the end of chapter one and it kept drawing me in as I went. A story of first time Love and second chances at life. Jordyn, a self made business woman was looking for new products for her new shops when she had some car trouble along the way. She came across this huge rough looking man Murphy that had her eye and her mind running in so many directions. On her way home, her car just didn’t seem ready to let go of this situation with Murphy. Jordyn found herself traveling down an unbeaten path that seemed to be less traveled. With all the rains the area had she drove into a washed out area nearly loosing everything. It’s here that her life takes a turn and here she finds what life has in store for her. I love how Mary draws me into the storyline with loads of humour, a little puppy and lovely characters from books one, two and three. Combined together they make this book come to life with a second chance for Murphy. A book to me isn’t good unless the writer can actually make you feel like you are part of the story and the characters come to life around you. I love being drawn into stories and loosing myself for a day or several days. Not many can actually do this, but Mary J Williams can. She is in essence, my perfect Writer.
Another Home Run!! Each book in this series has been a winner; Murphy and Jordyn's story was so much fun to read. Murphy was the best kind of hero because he fell as far as he could and fought his way back to become a better man than he was before. Jordyn is her own heroine because she set rules for herself, worked hard to reach her dreams, and knew exactly what she wanted, but wasn't afraid to change those rules in order to have the man of her dreams as well.
I think this might be my favorite book in the One Strike Series. Jordyn and Murphy just jump from the pages with swoons and sexiness. Their meeting is unconventional, their circumstances are different, but together they make one couple. With the support of their friends and family, their HEA is inevitable.
Another home run by Mary J. Williams! Jordyn and Murphy's story grabbed me right away, and kept me reading long into the night because I couldn't put it down! Jordyn and Murphy are seemingly from two different worlds, they meet by a fluke accident, they are drawn to each other. But it could never work, right? Or could it?! True love sometimes sneaks up on you! I like seeing characters from the previous stories, it's like seeing old friends. I have loved the 3 books I've read in this series, somehow I missed book #2...I'll be reading that next!
I hope to read Raina's story soon, and to see her HEA!
** I volunteered to read an ARC and promised to give my honest review! **
It is so genuine written, with so many heartfelt and warm emotions, with characters (Jordyn and Murphy) so profound and comprehensible that it is almost impossible to put this book down before finishing it.
And an additional bonus is re-meeting all those old and grown into heart acquaintances from the previous books in this series.
When Murphy put himself in a self imposed exile, he never thought that his world would change two years later. When Jordyn has a accident near Murphy's home, she doesn't realize how much her life will change in the few short days she is with Murphy. Can these two people from seemingly different worlds find want that is right in front of them. I very much enjoyed reading Murphy and Jordyn's story, and look forward to reading more of Ms. Williams books.
Loved this book. This was book four of the One Strike Series and is just as fantastic the other three. I was hooked from the very beginning. Wonderful characters with a great story line. One that I will definitely read again.
