My name is Mason Sabre. I have been writing since I was a small child and discovered I could have a million adventures at the stroke of my pencil (I wasn't allowed to use pen back then). I have written more stories than I could even publish, some of them I wouldn't ever put out, but I have had a blast writing them. I love writing, I love reading. I love to have a fictional adventure. When I am not doing that I am with my children or studying. I have a lifelong love of learning too.
I live in the North of England. It's a little chilly here and a little wet, but it is what I call home and where pretty much all of my stories are based.

This is a must read for all Society Series fans!!! We find out why he's a unique vampire and how much he loves his wife. Makes him that much more special. Henry is the founder of the series according to the author (still trying to puzzle that out). This short story has so much information! I adored Henry in DEATH AWAKENING and SERAPH, but now I love him!! Henry has so much passion!! Can hardly wait to see what he does next!!
What a phenomenal (short) read. Mason Sabre's writing is totally awesome. His imagination and creativity seem endless and every single time I’m left craving for more. More of Henry and Yvette, and Nina and Jam, please!
« Writing is Magic That I Understand » - Mason Sabre
Every word was felt.. Every wail squeezed at my heart.. Every tear shed ripped me to pieces. Henry's story will always be unforgettable..to see his past, is to understand the road he took. If you have never read a Mason Sabre book, read this one and get a taste of writing that will grab you and never let you go.
They say the best things come in small packages and boy, they're not kidding. Henry, (although only a 4 chapter novella, by Master of the Supernatural Mason Sabre) really packs a punch far above the weight of most other paranormal romance books five times its length!
Answering questions raised in Mason Sabre's other books, this is an adult paranormal romance that's dramatic, passionate, a tear-jerker, vengeful and tells of eternal love (though there's no HEA). The main premise of the story is Henry's eternal, unquenchable love for his pregnant wife Mary, how he becomes 'Other' (i.e. a vampire), to enable them to stay together through all eternity after she's murdered, (while Henry's absent from home) and the vengeance Henry determines to pursue on the perpetrators, which shows his negative side. A secondary theme is Henry's forming of The Society, which is central to Mason's other books.
Overall it's intended to answer the question, do vampires have a soul? which I believe it does most successfully. 'Henry' fills in the character's back story for the MC in Death Awakening and Seraph, which you would do well to read too, as this story definitely encourages in the last chapter. A five star winner for the 'Master' and a must for your paranormal romance bookshelf...why not buy them all and take a deliciously dangerous walk on the dark side? More please Mr Brooks!
Mason Sabre has long said that the reason he began writing The Society Series, was to answer the question, "Do vampires have a soul." Henry is his answer to that question. Henry Thompson and his wife Mary are expecting their first child very soon. However, darkness invades their lives in a horrific way. How Henry chooses to be with Mary again is way beyond anything you might expect. Once again, Mason Sabre's story is filled with real human emotion. He captures it so well in his writing. And although now some pieces of Henry's story are answered, new ones have arisen and will most likely be answered in coming books of The Society Series.
I love a character origin story and this one was definitely a good one. Sad...but good.
It went from awesome steaminess...
To some seriously sad stuff.
Poor Henry went through the gauntlet in this one, but he didn't take his heartache lying down.
It was great to see Henry's humble beginnings and I look forward to seeing him possibly interact with some of the other characters in the society series. I need more!
What do you do when life as you knew it is no longer? When the center of your world is ripped from you and you know you can not continue as is? You take matter in your own hands and shatter energy and everyone around you and make everyone pay for it. You try to make amends for the havoc you did and may or may not work. We shall see hopefully. Well done Mason again. You do not disappoint.
This short story reveals the history of Henry; the founder of the Society series. His love for his wife is beautifully portrayed and the horrific events that shaped the character that he becomes, are heart breaking. I admit a few tears were shed, but so worth it to find out more about the famous Henry!
"She was his, and he felt her in the depths of his soul"
A tragic love, two souls brutally torn apart, this short story introduces Henry and his beautiful wife Mary. It tells the tale of how Henry came to be an "Other" and the events that spurred him on to his chosen path. A great introduction to the Society series. I can't wait to read the next book.
A quick read but a vital piece to the storyline. Mason once again blows me away with his writing.. capturing me at the beginning and taking me on a journey.... this time with Henry.... both filled with heart gripping love and jaw on the floor shock. I’m so glad to have read this and look forward to everything falling into place. ~Angie❤️
Mason Sabre you do like to surprise your readers. HENRY, another brilliant Sabre Short, has answered some of the questions and filled in some of the puzzle pieces from previous books that Mr Sabre has written. It has also got me asking a few more questions though, but I know they will be eventually answered.
This is a heartbreaking story, told only in the way that Mason can do. He literally takes his reader into the story and has them experience the emotions that his characters do. The love that is shared between Henry and Mary, should be an eternal one, but tragedy strikes. This is when Mason's words come alive, his vivid descriptions of a life tormented, are chillingly realistic. The pain and suffering that is felt by Henry is also felt by the reader.
Ultimately this is the story of how and why Henry became a vampire. It answers the myths surrounding his background that were brought up in previous novels, but it also opens up a lot of other questions.
A beautiful short from Mason Sabre. Nothing of less than excellent, as usual. It is a SHORT, so please don't go into this thinking it's not long or it's not what was advertised - IT IS. A short story that packs a lot of punch and leaves the reader wanting SO MUCH MORE.
A heart-pounding story of love, loss and one man's mission to fight for his wife. Deeply in love with his wife, Henry Thompson couldn't be happier. They have everything they need. Life, as they say, is perfect. Except darkness lurks in the shadows of Northern England, and Henry's life and heart are torn apart one evening. Heartbroken and driven by rage, Henry turns himself, becoming vampire and seeking out vengeance on those who have harmed him. But not even death can break the love he has with his wife ... his soul mate .. his everything. He will do anything for her; no matter the cost.
True love is eternal.
In this short we get to learn Henry's heartbreaking back story. So emotional and heartbreaking. This has so much emotion packed into this novella; only the Master Mason Sabre could have pulled this off! Amazing story of eternal love and how it will drive you. No spoilers from me just pick up the Society Series and you will be hooked too! Highly Recommend!
'Henry: Sabre Short' by Mason Sabre can be read as a standalone short story, or as a prequel to the Society series.
Throughout this story, Sabre does a great job of 'showing', rather than 'telling' the reader how much Henry, his main protagonist, is smitten with Mary, his beautiful wife who is with child. Sabre's skillful writing ensures you not only feel his pain when Mary is brutally killed, but can also understand his desire for retribution, even if it will be at his peril to do so & will change his life for ever. Don't be mistaken, though, 'Henry: Sabre Short' is not your typical crime story, instead we are introduced to criminals that are not of this world, known as "the others".
I believe, 'Henry: Sabre Short' will appeal to fans of horror, science fiction or short stories.
This book is a short story. What is really nice about Henry's story is that it answers some of the questions from the series. There are twists and "oh goodness that won't be good" moments! This is a page turning short that deserves its own book. Loved that it is bringing the series together, left with some more twists and showing how far love can push someone.
All I can think is poor Henry after having read his story. You could feel the elation and heartbreak as events were unfolding. The descriptions used vividly helped paint the scenes as you read it. Another great, albeit sad, tale to add to the Society series.
I've loved Mason's books since I read the first book. His story lines are intricate and you never know which way he's taking the character. Henry will leave your mouth hanging open and tears in your eyes and won't be disappointed with any of his books.
Another heartbreakingly beautiful story in The Society Series. Mason Sabre keeps writing better and better books, even when I think they can't get better. He made me cry with this one! Once you start reading, you can't put it down!
love it very much! fascinated by the story! great writing... lots of details and descriptions... twists and turns to keep you hooked from start to finish!!! everyone should read this book (well maybe not young kids lol)
When the McDonald boys transformed into wolves and killed Henry’s Mary, Henry vowed to get revenge. This story is a tale following the dark Grimm’s fairytale style, geared for adults only.
This short story is an excellent place to start if you plan to dive into Mason Sabre’s Society series. It’s an extremely well-written tale introducing Henry, telling us about the choices he made out of love for his wife Mary.
I enjoyed reading this book by this author. Love Henry's dedication to his wife. I look forward to reading more books by this author. I recommend reading this book.
This is a very different paranormal story. It's about a never ending love of Henry for Mary. This is the first book I've read by Mason Sabre.I really really enjoyed it. I don't normally buy the really short story's I'm really glad I did this one.I'm looking forward to more from this author.
