Jacob Renmyer, a cowboy in a town named Sawtooth, Nevada has placed an advertisement for a mail-order bride.
Rachel O’Leary answers the ad, but when she arrives, she is nothing like what Jacob expects -- her red hair and bright green eyes make her stand out among the townspeople.
Then, when a person from Rachel's past shows up, things start to change very quickly for Jacob.
He soon finds himself entangled in a web of jealousy, all the while wondering if this stranger from another part of the world is really the one meant for him.

This was a collection of 5 short stories, none of which I particularly liked all that much.
The first one was The Red Haired Bride and it ended just when I thought the story should have picked up the pace. (1.5 stars)
The second one was The Brides New Life. This one was better than the first, but it seemed too modern for the time period. Also the story lacked feeling, in that I just didn't care what happened to the characters. (2.5 stars)
The third one was The Unwelcome Bride and it was the best of the collection, though that's not saying much. This story focused on prejudice and how the townspeople all assumed Katherine was up to no good, simply based on the fact she's part native American. So when expensive nativity figurines go missing, they immediately blame her. It got a bit dramatic at the end, but it was a good tale. (3 stars)
The fourth one was The Sheriff's Mail Order Bride and it was by far the worst story in the collection. I'm not sure if I was supposed to root for Cole and Claudia, but I didn't care for them or the outcome of the story at all. What both of the did, especially Cole, was unacceptable. Very ridiculous story, especially when describing the romance between the couple. (1 star)
The fifth one was The Amish Mail Order Bride. I've read a lot of Amish fiction and this was nothing like any of them. I'm not saying that this couldn't have taken place, but the main character seemed childish and very naive yet at the same time. (2 stars)
All in all, this is not a collection I'd recommend.
