Bad Medicine was one of television's most popular dramas, and Ethan Prescott was the show's biggest star. He was a talented actor and an all-around good guy. His quick wit, intelligence, and dashingly handsome appearance only added to his larger than life persona. And somehow, Macy Tillman ended up sitting right next to him at dinner.Macy was a gifted artist and former resident of the Shower & Shelter Artist Collective. Though she was still pursuing a career as an artist, she also devoted much of her time to caring for her young niece while her sister was at work. Her quirky personality, unique perspective on life, and stunning beauty captivatedEthan. Macy made Ethan experience feelings that he had never known. It was about more than just being attracted to her. Somehow, Macy inspired Ethan to want to be a better person. But those feelings were overwhelming, and they made it difficult for Ethan to decide whether or not he should follow his heart.

This was just okay. Ethan was too hot & cold for my liking. His relationship with Macy was more of a casual friendship than a romantic relationship. He never struck me as the commitment type, so it was hard to believe that a relationship with them would even last.
This book was amazing just as the others have been. I thought this showed how you can fall in love so quickly it scares you and causes you to question the relationship. Having had this happen in my own life 47 years ago I know in reality it does happen and have it last a lifetime.
Ethan's interest in Macy because she intrigues & inspires him is a wonderful start to this story. Unfortunately, Ethan's hot & cold approach is frustrating. It would have been helpful if we had his perspective there to be able to sympathize (hopefully) with his struggle.
I liked that Macy was up front & didn't really play games. I wish Ethan had been more like that with her
The happily-ever-after proposal is so cute that it makes it easier to overlook the insta-loveness.
Some men are just ready when they are ready to entertain the idea of a mate and God puts their match in their vicinity. I've seen it and lived it. The plot is not silly for those of us who look back 37 years and say to God, "How great thou art"! And I use that "hairs on our head" all the time to calm myself in uncertain times. Great romance without vulgar and unnecessary scenes.
The two main characters, Ethan and Macy, meet through a casual dinner with mutual friends when both become intrigued with the other. Their paths cross a couple more times through their mutual friendships, leading to the two of them spending time together alone- sometimes on a date, sometimes just casually hanging out. At the beginning, Ethan is non-committal to the point of not even calling Macy after they've spent time together leaving Macy confused about the status of their "relationship". Eventually, Ethan decides he wants to date Macy, and even casually suggests they get married before the end of the book. This was not one of my favorites from this series. I had great difficulty believing that Macy and Ethan would be together as a couple in the romantic sense. Not only did I feel that there wasn't enough development in their story, but their interactions were more on the "friends that flirt" plane than the "you're my soul mate and I want to marry you" plane. Ethan's casualness about their relationship- especially his nonchalance about getting married- was actually a turn-off for me. And at times, their interactions seemed just a bit silly and immature. Wish I could give a better review.
This review contains my own thoughts and opinions. I have not been compensated in any way by the publisher or the author for my review.
I started getting a little nervous with this one. I thought maybe I found one by Brooke St James that I didn’t absolutely love. But she turned it around and made me love it just like the rest of her books.
Ethan is a famous actor. He has an instant connection with Macey, and when they spend time together they have long talks and they have a hard time separating. But then he distances himself because he is not looking for a connection.
When he finally gets his head out of his butt I fell in love as usual. Another great story.
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Macy Tillman, an artist at the Shower and Shelter Artist Collective ends up sitting next to Ethan Prescott, a popular TV Star at a restaurant meal with friends. They are attracted to each other, but time together is limited as she ends up caring for her niece quite often due to her sister’s work schedule. This is an inspiring story about hard work, caring for others, and working around a star being recognized in public.
What a delightful love story! Wonderful characters, especially Isabel, who almost stole the spotlight from the main characters. A Christian theme, with the heroine’s favorite verse referring to God knows “the number of hairs on our head” running throughout the book. Throw in a gorgeous “leading man” (in more ways than one) and there’s a book that you will thoroughly enjoy!
Such a cute, sweet, and clean story with a real happy ever after ending. (Spoiler) "As it happened, my happily ever after was most spectacular. But, honestly, I wasn't surprised. I knew all along that my story would be a success. I know the Author, after all, and He knows every hair on my head."
This book goes from just learning to enjoy each other to openly flirting. The dialogue is humorous at times and serious occasionally. I love the transition throughout. It's almost like watching a video or good movie. I really appreciate St. James because not only are her books true to life they are affordable. Thank you for that.
This was a sweet, slow burn, celebrity romance. Our hero movie star and heroine artist get to have a good dose of a cute little girl in the mix. I liked the emphasis on faith and family. It's a good reminder. If God cares to count the hairs on our head, of course He knows and cares about nights of struggling sleep, an accident tripping, and so much more. I'm excited to continue this series.
Cute, but not super exciting. It felt like tiny little bits of a ton of other romance books all thrown together into one condensed romance. Clean, though, so points there. Note: I received this book for free through Goodreads Giveaways.
I love that each book keeps getting better! There is still the "rich guy" theme, but Ethan was such a sweetheart that I didn't mind! I love how he helps Isabella!
Ethan was a famous movie star and had everything money could buy. But when he met Macy he encountered her love for God. Love this story and how Macy shared the love of Christ with Ethan.
This is a most interesting book . There were so many times I did not know how the story was going to go. Talk about keeping you interested love books like this.
I have read most of Ms. St. James books now and I absolutely love the Shower & Shelter books. They are so sweet and the characters are so easy to love.
It's cute but not the best from the collection. I kinda felt it was a little corny and not really the best book from the collection. But over all, it did still have nice quotes from the book.
2.5 I’m a big fan of the author, but I wasn’t feeling the chemistry in this romance. Nothing objectionable. Cute and clean with frequent references to God.
This is one of her more disappointing books. The romance didn't really kick in until 70% in the book and by that time I didn't care. Ethan gave Macy mixed signals and that made him come off as more of a jerk than someone just fighting intense feelings. I wish Macy would have done more to call Ethan out on his behavior and not been so willing to run when he came calling. Macy's niece was maybe the best part of the book, she was super cute.
How many women are attractive to a man because of their super curly hair? I'm sure there are many, but the second time Ethan sees Macy, he doesn't even recognize her because a friend has straightened her hair! How's that for facial recognition? I'll recommend this book.
