Wish it wasn’t a box set...
I wish I had read these stories individually instead of in a box set. The first book - Shane, was really good. It was written well, and the characters were easy to believe and follow. The second story a novella about Cormac, was way too short and completely unbelievable. It seemed to be written in a hurry and not well thought out. The third story - Alexei, was (ok) at best. The (Patrick)story was just bad. There were mistakes with the names, calling Patrick, Shane at times and the story was so drawn out. Almost like the author was trying to hit a word count. One thing that was particularly frustrating reading these stories together is that the timeline is all off, it ruins it a bit. For example, you know that Patrick and Lauren end up together and have baby, way before his story. All right in all, they weren’t awful, but it was a chore to finish 😞

Family, Commitment and Love!
Fantastic romantic stories of commitment to family, loyalty and the hot steamy passion the Mafia men have for the women they love. Well written stories of dealing with enemies, betrayal among them and their protection and love for their women. Overcoming their obstacles that threaten to derail their relationships and life allows them to have their HEA. You can not go wrong with this boxed set, strong, dominant, alpha men and sassy, feisty independent women. I recommend reading these books!

Shane: A Dark Mafia Romance Book 1
***TRIGGER WARNING***
This book does have a trigger warning due to non consent and rape scenes.
I would recommend for anyone looking for an amazingly dark romance that ends with an HEA. This can be read as a standalone.
Cormac: A Dark Mafia Novella Novella 2
Not even remotely dark like the first book in the series. Cormac takes place during Shane and is really only a chapter long with what happens the night of the alley incident in book one. For that reason it is a quick steamy read.
For fans of book 1 and it's darkness book 2 will have none of that for you, but still worth the read.
Patrick: A Dark Mafia Romance
I will start by stating this story in the series is not dark but just a mafia romance. For a re-release under a new authors name I would have like for the work to also have been edited better. I did enjoy the story and the HEA. This book can be read as a standalone but is book 3 in the Mafia Romance Series. (Note this is book 4 in the box set but need to be read as book 3 because Alexei contains spoilers for Patrick.)
Alexei: A Dark Mafia Romance
I also wouldn't list as a dark romance, more just a mafia romance.
I will say that I did enjoy the story both times I read it and the characters. The story can be read as a standalone but has returning characters.
