I can honestly say that I didn’t read past the title of this book to know I had to have it. An author friend tagged me in a post and I had to beg for a copy. And just so you all know just how badly I needed this book – I don’t really ever ask for an ARC – I don’t blog so I can’t really sign up for them and I’ve been lucky to have a solid group of authors that allow me on their review teams, so I rarely venture out to add more to the already crazy to do list. But this one... yeah, no shame – I begged. I had no blog to list in the form so I just pleaded my case for why I needed this filthy gem in my hands.
Daddy’s Best Friend is the work of London Hale, a co-author project by Ellis Leigh and Brighton Walsh. First, I have not read anything from these two authors before (that is changing real quick) and second, I LOVE that there is no secrecy to this endeavor (I get the reasons behind some, but still am too jaded by a few that I really love seeing full disclosure). From the title, it’s pretty clear the story you’re going to get. So beware that it’s taboo, it’s got an age gap and it takes a close adult/child relationship and turns it into a sizzling romance.
Nathan knows exactly when he started seeing little Evie as Eve, the woman – his greatest temptation. And although he’s spent the last the last year avoiding her, he can’t do that forever. As the town’s cop, he knows better. But with Eve turning eighteen and setting her sights on him, there is only so much one man can take. Even if he knows it’s wrong.
I have to say that although the title and the blurb of this book sets up one filthy good time, this story was not at all just pure smut. There was room for a bit more depth, but this sort of trope isn’t really known for having deep roots – but there was more to this than just dirty sex.
I am looking forward to the second release from this duo, DILF – especially given how this one ends.

If you love taboo, erotic reads, this series is a must-read for you. Each novella is just as filthy as the next, but they’re unique enough that you don’t feel like you’re reading the same story over and over. The sex is seriously hot – trust me, these older men know what they’re doing. ;) I highly recommend reading these if you’re a fan of age gap and/or forbidden romances!

Yes the subject might be a little taboo but I wasn't bothered at all by either the age difference or that Nathan is best friends with Eve's dad.
Both Nathan and Eve are good people who have been attracted to each other for a long time.
Nathan has struggled with his feelings and tried to keep away but the heart wants what it wants.
I loved how both Nathan and Eve are open and honest with each other.
They have amazing chemistry and dear lord did they make my iPad sizzle!!!

I secretly love May to December romances... well, I guess it isn't a secret anymore LOL! I love that there are these two characters that no one would ever think to pair together, but for whatever reason they just seem to click and for the most part not just on a physical level.
London Hale takes the May to December romance and adds an extra hiccup to it...

As soon as I saw that Brighton Walsh was writing under a combined pen name, I was all over it. She's an auto-buy author, so I didn't even need to know what it was about.
I liked Eve and Nathan and I wasn't bothered by the age difference. They're both good people and respectful and it was sort of adorable how everything unfolded. Filthy af, sure, but adorable.
I could have easily read an entire book about them and absolutely hope we get to see them again in the next story of the series.

This is super fun - I will probably give it a B-
The "minus" because I just wish it had a little more tension and lead up to them having a physical relationship. I get it's 118 pages so I was expecting fast book, but I wanted a little more naughty tension. And maybe not a solid I love you at the end.
But otherwise I had fun reading this. The hero is so growly and omg I have to have her forever, immediately or my cock will explode.
And the next book is the dad of the heroine! LOL. :)

Daddy's Best Friend is the height of smutty goodness. I loved every moment of this quick, dirty, taboo read -from the alpha, possessive, neanderthal hero, to the feisty, not afraid to go after what she wants heroine and the smoking hot sex, it all just worked so hard for me.
If you're in the mood for a quick, filthy read I highly recommend this book it will short circuit your brain, leave you breathless, hot, bothered and aching for more. I CANNOT wait to read the next book in the series I think it will be even hotter.

He saw heroine differently a year prior and stayed away due to her age and being best friends with her dad. I was very disappointed to know that since that time, as he flat out told her, he tried to eff her out of his head. So unnecessary. Really lessens my belief in how strongly he claims to have feelings for her. He had been celibate for nine months...because being with the other women didn't work. *rolls eyes*

This is really different you guys. It's taboo material but it's sweet and has heart. That's the only way I can describe it. It did not read like a porn clip, which is how these stories usually read. AND, there was nothing OTT about it. If anything, it was a bit understated. The story read like there should have been more depth to it but the subject matter/story line doesn't usually call for it. As an avid reader of this trope, it weirded me out a bit.
I really enjoyed this story. there's nothing really new about it. If you read this type of story as much as I do, you won't be surprised by how the story unfolds, but it's unique because it's laced with sweetness :) it's not just porn on paper. Really looking forward to the next short story, DILF.

Daddy's Best Friend is a short, addicting and hott af novella that I devoured in one sitting. I'm actually not a big of the "falling for daddy's best friend" trope in erotica, but gaahh the chemistry and writing was so good and I liked the characters and the dramatics were kept to a minimum which was a plus for me. London Hale has easily become one of my go-to authors for erotica romances and I'm totally here for the rest of the books in this series. I recommend this book if you're in the mood for a wild and sexy smut!

3.5 stars. I was looking for a quick read and this was free. I honestly thought I'd probably skim through this rolling my eyes the while time but I actually really enjoyed it. It was really well written and I liked the mcs together. I'll definitely continue with the series.

Definitely hot, most likely taboo and absolutely a guilty-pleasure because 'Daddy's Best Friend' delves into a very particular aspect of what most people deem as forbidden in certain relationships. And somehow this in particular, gets me panting.
A barely-legal adult with a man who's probably twice her age will get frowns here, but age differences don't bother me too much (to some extent at least) and London Hale writes this new relationship with smutty confidence, which I appreciate.
There are faint echoes of Alexa Riley in here - a filthy-talking male, an instant type of connection because of the brevity of the novella and very quick declarations of love after hot sex - but thankfully, without the ick-factor of 'daddy-play' coming into it. It's a little too short for me really - I'd love to see more character and plot development - but I'm guessing that the length of the story is itself, proof that the focus is more on getting the reader to have a good time in as short a time as possible with just enough plausibility in this relationship to go on without too many questions asked.
A good setup for the next novella's in store and it tickles me in some way because this series is shaping out to be one of way younger women with much older men. Bring it on, because I can't wait.

I didn't realize this was a novella. It super short (I read it in about an hour or so) and super dirty. Overall enjoyable if you like a dirty read and May to December romances. My issue was that because it was so short, everything went from zero to sixty a little too fast for me. I wanted a little more sexual tension with such a forbidden romance and there just wasn't time for it in the amount of pages the story held. I am interested in reading the next novella in the series as we get get a glimpse of the story building with those characters already during this read.

This was a good story but was rushed and I would have liked to have read more about the development of their relationship. Overall entertaining though.

Y’all, this was hot. Really fucking hot. It was also totally addictive. I devoured it in about an hour. Hell, I went in to pull quotes for my review and ended up reading it a second time. So, yeah.
I don’t tend to read what I classify personally as straight up erotica. Don’t get me wrong, I like my romance filled with lots of details and dirty talkers. But more often than not, I also need the story and the feels. I enjoy the romance side of the books as much as I do the smutty stuff… and sometimes more so. Because of this, erotica is rarely a go to for me. I’ve found the books or novellas I’ve read in the past to be entertaining, but they always seemed to lack just a little bit of that something extra that makes me really love a story. It’s also entirely possible I’ve been reading the wrong erotica… But, I digress. Now that I got that out, you can ignore everything I just said. Because Daddy’s Best Friend? Perfection. But, you know, I’m not really surprised. I’ve loved Brighton’s books in the past, so it’s not really shocking that I felt the same about this one.
I am a total sucker for a forbidden romance, but daddy’s friend and daughter is a trope I’ve never really paid much mind to. Am I intrigued by it? Absolutely. Up until this last month or so, however, when I looked at the offerings on Amazon or Goodreads, nothing really grabbed my attention. Then London Hale came along and holy crap, I just knew I was going to have to read this series. (Fun fact: I’ve actually read TWO May-December romances featuring a daughter with her father’s friend in the last few weeks. I loved them both.) Once I got my ARC, I dove right in and never looked back. Nathan and Eve grabbed me right from the very start. Their chemistry, despite their age difference, was electric. I appreciated how determined she was to make him see she wasn’t a little girl anymore, that she knew what she wanted and that it happened to be him. I understood he was conflicted because of their ages and, probably more importantly, his friendship with her father. Even more, I appreciated that once he decided to say to hell with the consequences and jump in, he was ALL in. This was blisteringly hot, filled with all the things I enjoy in a good filthy read. It wasn’t big on feels, but it had enough that I felt connected to the characters and I was more than ok with that. Not EVERY book I read needs to make me all teary eyed over the abundance of feelings. This one was a good reminder of that.
If you’re looking for a quick and dirty forbidden romance, look no further. You’re going to enjoy Temperance Falls. I know I’m already itching to read the second and third books, which are (im)patiently waiting on my iPad.

But more often than not, I also need the story and the feels. I enjoy the romance side of the books as much as I do the smutty stuff… and sometimes more so. Because of this, erotica is rarely a go to for me. I’ve found the books or novellas I’ve read in the past to be entertaining, but they always seemed to lack just a little bit of that something extra that makes me really love a story. It’s also entirely possible I’ve been reading the wrong erotica… But, I digress. Now that I got that out, you can ignore everything I just said. Because Daddy’s Best Friend? Perfection. But, you know, I’m not really surprised. I’ve loved Brighton’s books in the past, so it’s not really shocking that I felt the same about this one.
I am a total sucker for a forbidden romance, but daddy’s friend and daughter is a trope I’ve never really paid much mind to. Am I intrigued by it? Absolutely. Up until this last month or so, however, when I looked at the offerings on Amazon or Goodreads, nothing really grabbed my attention. Then London Hale came along and holy crap, I just knew I was going to have to read this series. (Fun fact: I’ve actually read TWO May-December romances featuring a daughter with her father’s friend in the last few weeks. I loved them both.) Once I got my ARC, I dove right in and never looked back. Nathan and Eve grabbed me right from the very start. Their chemistry, despite their age difference, was electric. I appreciated how determined she was to make him see she wasn’t a little girl anymore, that she knew what she wanted and that it happened to be him. I understood he was conflicted because of their ages and, probably more importantly, his friendship with her father. Even more, I appreciated that once he decided to say to hell with the consequences and jump in, he was ALL in. This was blisteringly hot, filled with all the things I enjoy in a good filthy read. It wasn’t big on feels, but it had enough that I felt connected to the characters and I was more than ok with that. Not EVERY book I read needs to make me all teary eyed over the abundance of feelings. This one was a good reminder of that.
If you’re looking for a quick and dirty forbidden romance, look no further. You’re going to enjoy Temperance Falls. I know I’m already itching to read the second and third books, which are (im)patiently waiting on my iPad.

This book is so hot and steamy and basically defines guilty pleasure. This book was easy to devour and devour it I did. Nathan and Eve are such a taboo relationship, but as a reader you don’t care at all. They are so hot together and it just works. Nathan has a real dirty mouth and whoa *fans self*. Is the relationship kinda unrealistic? Of course. But that’s also what makes it great. It’s a fantasy and an escape. This is a super quick and steamy read. I’m kinda surprised they managed to pack so much steam into such a short book, but you will find no complaints here. I highly recommend this for when you need a low angst and super sexy read. I can’t wait to go back to Temperance Falls for more action.

A few months ago, I heard whispers across Facebook of a possible collaboration between two of my favorite authors, Ellis Leigh and Brighton Walsh. And it just so happens, the rumors were true. These two very talented word slingers have joined forces under the new pen name London Hale offering readers a delightfully naughty and oh so sexy new series entitled Temperance Falls featuring one of my all-time favorite tropes, May-December Romance. For anyone who is unfamiliar with the term, it simply means a romance between two people in which there's a big age gap, where one of the partners is in the spring of their life (younger) and the other is in the winter of their life (older). I particularly adore the older man/younger woman supposition which is the premise for this story. And FYI, there is nothing perverse or tawdry about this story. The younger partner is of legal age (eighteen or over), the sex is consensual and the romance is steamy but sweet. Hale's debut novel, Daddy's Best Friend, is a sexy, fast-paced, well-edited, easy to follow, standalone romance novella with a beautifully written and well-edited his and her first person narrative. It's a fun, quick read coming in at less than 100 pages and does not end with a cliffhanger but more of a happy-for-now. The dialogue is smart, snappy, fabulously flirty, deliciously dirty and flows effortlessly. And like all May-December tropes, this is very much a character-driven story. I was immediately smitten with the two protagonists, eighteen-year-old recent high school graduate Eve (I could never find her last name) and Nathan 'Nate' Pearce, a Temperance Falls police officer. These two characters complemented each other perfectly and were absolutely adorable together. Their interaction was electric, their banter flirty, their passion undeniable, their love irresistible, and their sexual chemistry was so hot it sizzled!
Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! So if I loved it so much, then why only four stars? There was only one little thing that really bugged me. I could never find Eve and Brandon's(her father) last name. I know this is only a fun, short, sexy romp and not a deep, dark, gritty romance with complex characters and a complicated storyline but it's still very much a character driven story featuring people who live in a lovely small town where every resident knows everyone... and their business. I should know since I live in a town much like Temperance Falls, and for me to fully engage with the characters, especially the protagonists, no matter how short the book, I need to know their full name. I think we learn everything else about Eve but her last name... her age, the name of her best friend, the fact her mother died when she was only five, the color of her eyes, the length of her hair, the scent of her body wash, and even the way she likes her scrambled eggs, but never her last name. We know Nathan's last name and even learn the name of Eve's father's wealthy business partner and his son, Clark and Brock Wilkinson, respectively. So why not give Eve and Brandon (two of the primary players) a last name? Sorry, It's just one of my pet peeves, so enough said. But if I'm wrong and somehow just missed it, please, someone, tell me and I'll be happy to change my rating to five stars. I don't base my ratings on whether I think the book is some sort of masterpiece or literary work of art. My only considerations are the craftsmanship and how much I enjoyed the story... and I enjoyed this one tremendously. Would I recommend this book? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain explicit language and naturally, some steamy dreamy sex between two consenting adults of legal age. And although the sex scenes are smokin' hot, they don't drag on for twenty pages each. The entire book can be read in about two hours but it's well worth the price of 99 pennies. Will I read this author again? Abso-freaking-lutely! Just as soon as they release their next book! As a matter of fact, I've already ordered the second book of the series which is currently available for preorder on Amazon and scheduled for release on May 16, 2017. And finally, was I entertained? It was free, so I decided to give it a try in spite of my worry about the creepy factor. I thought the taboo thing might be kind of hot — and it was, at the beginning. But I’ve gotta say, it’s creepy. I can’t get oven an adult wanting the f**k a barely legal girl, let alone be in a long-term relationship with her. It’s just scummy, especially if he’s willing to risk his relationship with his best friend. How could someone value a years-long friendship so little? Plus, it’s all just too easy. They get together, decide they want to be together forever, and her dad just begrudgingly accepts it with minimal anger. I call BS.

It's no surprise to me that two authors whose words I've been reading (and enjoying the hell out of) since oh, 2009, have teamed up to make a powerful duo of dirty deliciousness.
Despite its short length, this quick little novella is worth the hour (or less) it will take you to read. If you're not afraid of taboo topics and enjoy sweet and steamy smut, these girls have got exactly what you're looking for. ;)

I was so excited when I heard about Daddy's Best Friend . This is London Hale's first novel and I could not wait to dig into it so when I got a copy of the ARC I started this story as soon as I possible could . I loved it!. Daddy's Best Friend is a steamy book that follow Eve who recently just turned 18 who has been in love with her father best friend and is determined pursue him . The minute I heard this all I could think is omg I cannot wait to see how this unfolds .We also find out that Nathan also has feeling for Eve as well but he is understandably conflicted seeing that this is his best friends daughter and of course the age difference ,however the sexual chemistry and desire between these two is very intense and at the point were they can no long ignore it , this is were the story really picks up. This story was short and sexy but at the same time there was emotion ,there was sweet moment and of course drama. Daddy's Little Girl reminded me once again that Age is nothing but a number and love will find away no matter what the circumstances. I cannot wait to see what London Hale writes next . Daddy's Best Friend was fantastic and If you looking for a steamy , quick , story with what some might consider a Taboo topic you should definitely pick up this book !!

Very shocking and naughty. So good. Everything it promises and more. I only wish my parents' friends were that hot and willing when I was younger. Not big into the Daddy kink, but this is the perfect book of you are.

The H had kept his distance, after seeing her grow up and sparking his interest. It felt wrong to him. Now that she's 18, she's the one to show her interest in him. He makes some token resistance, but it was all over very quickly. Not enough story to rate it higher.
