Planet Earth has been controlled for eons by the 'dark forces' by instilling and maintaining their project of 'fear' within the majority of humans upon the Earth. We have all been deceived on a grand scale. They have achieved this slowly and successfully by stealth through their secret societies, groups, governments and Institutes to create a New World order. They have controlled populations and culled humanity through their man-made diseases such as Ebola and HIV/AIDS. They control humanity with prescription drugs, fluoride, modern technology, food additives, vaccines and they suppress the cures for cancer so that people will die. They control the media, create all wars and initiate acts of terrorism against us. They control politics, banking, education, sciences and religions in order to control us as slaves to their 'system'. They are followers of Satanism/Lucifer and some are paedophiles. They control some people through mind control programmes. They control the 'illegal' drugs trade, manipulate the weather and intend to introduce a police state to reduce our civil liberties. They have suppressed 'free energy' from the masses for over a century. This is the battle upon the Earth that the 'dark forces' have been winning against the 'light forces', but this is slowly changing and people are starting to awaken to their scheming. The 'light forces' are slowly changing the outcome of the battle, and in turn, the spiritual war. Welcome to the lunatic asylum that is planet Earth.
Not only were some of the ideas dangerous (not open your mind dangerous, but could get people killed dangerous) the book itself was....not good. If I turned this in for a high school paper I would have 100% gotten an F. The writing is so informal it reads like a 5th grader wrote it, the punctuation and grammar leave much to be desired, and there are no sources. Well, there are 35 sources (out of a 700+ page book) but nowhere is it mentioned which sources apply to what and most of the claims in this book have no backing behind them. Also, I would like to point out that 1 of the 35 sources is himself which is suspicious to say the least.
This book manages to be racist, anti-Semitic, and classist. Since I don't know the author, I do not want to call him a white supremacist, but based on this I would guess that he is.
I might go into more detail later, but it's just so depressing that people actually believe the ideas mentioned in this book as they do not "free your mind" but in reality they manage to hurt and destroy others.
I thought I would write an early review due to the fact that this is a very intriguing read. I feel that I have been enlightened regarding the current world situation. I admit that I tend to be a conspiracy theorist, but this book has confirmed many of those theories. The book gives plenty of references for you to explore on your own. I applaud Shane for the time and effort that went into this book. The political system and the NWO , and everything in between, all come together. The information in this book will truly horrify a lot of people. I found my self thinking that I probably should not read this due to what I am finding out. However, I would rather know than be ignorant to the truths. Everyone should read this book, every party, gender, race and religion. I am only 1/3 of the way through this book. I can't read it for too long because I like to process the abundance of information. I give my self a couple days before I return to this tome. I have decided to try and be prepared for whatever happens. I do know that I am willing to protect my country and my way of life, even if I were to die trying. I will follow up after finishing the whole thing. I just want people to know about this book and read it. This is a must read for these political times!
I'm all for free speech, but. .. yikes. If anything, the current state of the world proves there *isn't* a deep state. If there was, certainly things would be run better.
A great book to read if someone you care about is in the schizophrenia spectrum, as you will garner an understanding of the thought processes and abundance of words that exist in that person's mind.
Unfortunately, I abandoned this book about halfway through, as it was extremely disorganized and lacking accurate information... Therefore the 1 star rating.
Big props to the author Shane for gathering data to validate his thoughts and putting it out there to share with others. Super brave of him.
I appreciate the time and effort put into writing this book. The book is a fun read, but I fail to take it seriously for the lack of appropriate references and a storyline in each chapter. Quotes are provided but no references to numerical results. I don't see any scholastical and professional arguments.
The author must have exposed themselves to many topics, but most of the presented ones are one-sided arguments. One example is GM food. The author fails to appreciate that GM crops and pesticides are two parts of a technical package to make farming convenient and blamed all the ecological consequences on GM food. Herbicide overuse is the driver for herbicide resistance, the same for any pesticide. And why farming has to be made convenient? Had the author looked into why farming had to be made simple, why not many eaters are willing to grow their food, and how did GM food become so much cheaper than organic or heirloom food, the argument would have been more well-rounded.
I won this book on Goodreads. This book is a very intriguing read! I knew of some of these conspiracies from alternative sources but I learned a lot from this book. I am not sure if I believe all of what is in the book but I want to keep an open mind about it all. Just look around and see and listen to the lies from the mainstream media and politicians from both sides of the aisle but especially the left-wing Democrats in USA. Absolutely everything they say is a flat out lie to promote their agenda of total control over the people, full on authoritarianism over the masses. This book calls out both parties though, as well as religious leaders, the elite, the powerful, the wealthy, the famous, et al. Everyone has heard of the Illuminati and the New World Order but not everyone understands how deep it really goes. An enlightening book for sure.
this book is a conspiracy theory on steroids! while i can see some points he makes and, some even seems plausible, yet scary. most seemed like bizzaro world. some ' facts" were taken out of context, which people with an agenda do. i read the whole book because i won it on goodreads. i always feel obligated it read a book i win. some things i had to skim over. he repeats himself a lot. almost as if he was compelled to write such a long over 700 page book... had to read something totally enjoyable after this, which i did..
unless you are truly into crazy conspiracy theories... don't read...
Since I am happy with my life and the introduction said this book isn’t for you, I did not read the whole thing. As the author was good enough to send me a copy, I thought I ought to give him my impression of the parts I did peruse. What I did read was well written and documented. The description of the book sounded like a cool fiction, and in my opinion, that is what it is.
Shane McMinn had done an in-depth research on the entire history of world’s secret societies in a chronological order. Every single chapter has a captivating narrative based on real historical facts. This is the reason I could not put the book down. The information presented in the book is very hard to swallow and discomforting at times but they reflect the reality of the past and present which cannot be ignored by our modern day society. Some parts of the book will be unpopular among some of the readers and that’s because our history books never taught all the nuances of the events that have been happening behind closed doors. The reader will discover that there is another side to the truth about all the historical and technological changes that have been taking place for decades. The information in the book is controversial as well as captivating to grasp because the author highlights the detail when making a case for his argument. The author has impeccably researched every single topic covered in the book that’s the reason why the book is very interesting and easy to read. I really like Shane’s unbiased writing style which mainly focuses on historically sound events to make it into a fine piece of work.
One of the best books I have won on Goodreads! I wish I was better at giving reviews but here it goes... This book was half and half for me. Half of what was written I already knew and/or believed in and the other half just opened my eyes wider. I loved how it was written, I can go back anytime to reference any subject easily. It did take me a while to read the whole book because at times it was a lot to take in. I wanted to make sure I understood everything I was reading. I kind of thought of it as I was learning instead of just reading a book for entertainment.
There is a lot of information in this book to digest. Broken up into several topics, a lot of the material is disturbing and disconcerting. I read the whole book while keeping an open mind, and while most of it is difficult to believe, I do feel that there is a lot of evil in this world that needs to be addressed. I think this book is a good starting point to further your research into the secret workings of the world. The Asylum was published a few years ago, and the world has changed so much in those short years. I am curious to know the authors thoughts on today's current events of pandemics, mass vaccinations, voter fraud, and insurrections.
I'm really enjoying this book and find the subjects within very interesting. I will be keeping this as a reference guide for anything I wish to research further, which is exactly it's purpose, for me anyway. Many of the subjects contained within I was already aware of to an extent, but there is not only further information I was not aware of, but also several related concepts I had not realized and will follow further. I recommend this book to anyone who is ready and open minded enough to head down the rabbit hole.
Well written book on the "conspiracy theories " floating around about all kinds of things. Think 9/11. Thanks to Goodreads Giveaways, author Shane McMinn, and the publisher.
Thanks to author Shane McMinn for this FREE Kindle copy of The Asylum. And thanks to Goodreads for hosting the opportunity.
This was a DNF for me. I honestly don't recall entering for a chance at a copy of this book, but since it was provided, I started reading to provide this review. I made about 20% and had to put it down.
Based on what I read, there is a lot of he said/she said and quotes from members sworn to secrecy, with a brief bibliography list to, I'm guessing, others works of he said/she said. With all this quoting, there should be 50 pages of source notes. Just a pet peeve, in general, about any quotes in any book, if it isn't from a recording, it's questionable. Twenty people hear a speech, twenty walk away with a different story. That's what makes the world wobble. But, there is a plethora of information provided that, if into this type of thought, could be well received at face value. Like a well known collection of mythology books many put full faith into. If you want to believe...
I was having some trouble with the writing also, and would suggest a good thrashing by a good editor.
This book I feel has been written by someone who has experienced a lot of life and who has also watched too many conspiracy shows. He does make a lot of good points but just starting out it feels cooky. Definitely an interesting read.
For most people this book will end up being TL;DR. I powered through and am have been left unimpressed. A very long book filled with crap. There are three main sources for his information, none of which has any research or facts to support it. Another of his sources is an individual that speaks to spirits. Then he uses random quotes from people that seem to support his agenda. Only issue is that they are kind of thrown in with absolutely no context about what the speaker was addressing. I did find it interesting that the author stated at least twice that he was not elaborating on something because he was concerned that the book would be too long. Too late, it already was.
Overall there lacked any substantial and sound proof of the theories. I did enjoy reading about the conspiracy theories and felt that some of them seemed believable. However, the lack of any type of proof made this a fantasy book of conspiracy theories. #GoodreadsGiveaway
I was initially interested in this book as a means of understanding an alternative perspective from my own. Unfortunately I found this difficult to consume and appreciate. It is predominantly a collection of out-of-context, unattributed quotes mixed with un-cited facts and channeled thoughts, making it difficult to follow and believe. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are only 35 sources cited, some of them the authors own works and several works from the same authors. This book would be much easier to consume and internalize if more reference points were presented as opposed to recommending the reader “do their own research”.
Thank you to Goodreads and Shane McMinn for the opportunity to read this, unfortunately this wasn’t for me.
I was chosen to receive this book by entering a goodreads drawing.
The Asylum is a very long book full of conspiracy theories and references to back them up. It takes awhile to read through everything but because it is well written it can be entertaining in parts. There is a lot of emphasis on fearmongering by the powers that be but the book does this as well. By the end I was convinced there is no hope since the power and those not wanting to be the victims are using the some of the same tactics to get to the population. The result is confusion and chaos and that is what we are seeing today. There is fake news coming from both sides.
I received this book from a goodreads giveaway. After flipping through it to see it's full of conspiracy theories and illegible tangents, I will not be reading or rating it.
I won this book from a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review, but I simply couldn't finish it. It's so dry and needs a ton of editing the format to help with that. On top of that and as many others have mentioned, there's nothing cited for sources. When people think for themselves, they need to be able to follow the trail of thinking, so to speak, so that they can determine where it does and doesn't align with their own knowledge base. While I'm sure there's a lot of great information (if it's true) listed here, we will never know without any sources at all being referenced.
I'm about 1/2 way through this gigantic book. It is chalk-full of lots and lots of facts and knowledge. Some ideas get repeated. Some ideas I wish got more attention. Some get way too much attention. Overall, so far, I enjoy learning about ideas and groups I have never heard of before. This book should be approached with an open mind and I am taking it more as informative, keeping with me what I believe to be true, and dismissing what I think might be more opinion. I will continue reading here and there when the conspiracy bug hits me.
