Something in the woods harbors an old grudge, and it's not alone. A cryptic video from her uncle sends Kelly Murdoch on an investigation into his disappearance years earlier, and a quest to complete his mysterious project. But dormant resentments are stirred and all hell breaks loose, leaving her dog with a litter of weird puppies, and Kelly clinging to the bitter dregs of her courage.
Between the naysayers, the collaborators and the way-too-hot, Kelly maneuvers around her friendships, fear and non-stop plumbing inquisitions to try to fulfill her uncle’s request without meeting his same fate. This playful and fast-paced romp through the preternatural is woven with chilling encounters, bizarre twists and a few shots of top-shelf tequila.
Kelly is the perfect example of irresponsible behavior. She left her dog outside, and was gone overnight and part of the next day. Only sensible behavior was she didn't drink and drive.
Sorry but I stopped reading as soon as Brillo was found dead.
If your looking for an adventure filled with humor, passion and mystery this is the perfect book. The kind of book that you don't want to put down. I'll be waiting on edge for the next one to come out.
Light, fun & supernatural. Some descriptive passages could be a little clunky, but overall a pleasant read. Seems like the author was teasing a sequel, possibly about a skunk ape (aka Bigfoot) at the end, and I would gladly pick it up.
