Big Crack is a collection of novels authored by Hu Qian, the winner of the sixth World Chinese Film and Fiction Award. It collects sixteen short works of the author including the award-winning novella Big Crack. It features smooth language, distinctly-describing stories and figures, lively plots and proficient writing skills. The production of his first feature film: An Elephant Sitting Still (2018), based on a story with the same title from this book, began in July 2016. He took his own life soon after finishing the film on 12 October 2017 at the age of 29.
