Logan Jeffrey has a reputation...
He's gruff, deliriously handsome, and domineering. As a tenured criminology professor at the University of Newport in Southern California, he can say whatever he wants and won't have to worry about the repercussions of his attitude. He's known for calling students out, making them feel like idiots in front of the entire lecture hall, but pushing them to their truest potential. Every student who passes with an A somehow ends up with a full-time job by the time they graduate. Rumors swirl that he has a habit of sleeping with his teaching assistants and breaking their hearts (totally true). For those who don't know his reputation, he tends to scare the piss out of students and his TA's.
Peyton knows all there is to know about Logan Jeffrey. She also knows that she can't avoid him forever, especially since she had been accepted into Newport's prestigious graduate program. She also happens to his only TA this quarter, which means she would be spending too much time with him.
The more time Peyton is around her professor, the more she realizes there's something magnetizing about him. She can't stay away but she knows she should. She knows she must unless she wants to get swept away in his beautiful darkness.
Warning: This contains a gorgeous jackass hero, which means lots of swearing and lots of rough sex. Do not read if you don't like jackasses or swearing or sex.
Full disclosure: I am an acquired taste. I'm a typical blonde Orange County suburbanite who says 'like' more than necessary, laughs loud and probably obnoxiously, and loves to dance in the rain. I'm a 23 year old college graduate with more than a few tricks up my sleeve, and I also happen to be a pretty big Ducks fan. Oh, and I'm a writer. Like, for real.

The characters have great growth and development, and the plot is interesting. Logan is a dark but loveable hero and grew on me as the book progressed.
My biggest criticism is that the book could use a good edit. There are a lot of typos and omitted words. There are also at least three instances of storyline mishaps that I noticed. 1) The heroine visits Logan's house and walks home afterward, but then later she meets him at the faculty parking lot and wonders if he lives nearby or in staff housing. 2) The heroine is said to be wearing a lowcut top, but then a few paragraphs later sticks her hands in her hoodie. 3) In one of the last steamy scenes, Logan takes his jeans off and there is a comment about them both being butt-naked in that particular location, then two pages of foreplay later, Logan undoes the button on his jeans and takes them off again. A good edit could remedy these confusing points that pull the reader from the story.
Even with the needed edits, it is still an enjoyable story that was worth the read. Finished in one sitting.
Excellent with an amazing end I loved that romance that does not look so dark, but you really have to go to the end of the book to understand. The characters are excellent, torn between their attraction, their duty, their teacher/ assistant link, their past, their entourage and with a fierce desire to move away to preserve themselves. Well.... until they allow themselves more. To complete her law studies, Peyton is forced to study with Logan Jeffrey, a teacher with the reputation of dream breaker but also hearts. She wants only one thing, resist him and get her diploma yet their verbal jousting, as well as the fact that she finds herself to be his assistant because no one wants to do it, quickly develops between them an explosive relationship. This relationship is romantic without really being it, with ex-girlfriends who intervene sometimes in a strange way, as welle the half-brother of Logan, facing a Peyton who seems innocent, but who is also quite complex, a fan of Tim Burton's films. I enjoyed reading this book, this is the second in the series. It is not an absolute must that you read book one as the stories are different. This story is about Logan and Peyton. Logan is a tenured professor that has a loaded reputation. Peyton has been accepted into this prestigious university but she is also Logan's teaching assistant. She is well aware of Logan's reputation. Peyton plans to not fall for the handsome, jerkish professor. However, fate has a way of bringing rhe right people together and this story is no different. This story was an entertaining read. These two characters learn what HEA could be and it's a fun road to travel, especially as the reader.

OMG soooo goood why didnt I have teachers/Professors like him when I went to school. Super Hot Super sexy Super rude And super domineering, in a hot way! Peyton was not looking forward to being his teachers Assistant. rumours told that he had slept with all his TA's and Peyton didnt want to be a just another number to anyone. She wanted commitment and she knew That sexy Logan Jeffrey was never going to be the man for her. But Logan doesn't give a dam what anyone thinks or wants he just takes but the most important rules that Logan has is consent. Throw in a brother who holds a grunge and you have an amazing read that will keep you hooked till the very last page. This Is a fantastic read

I love most everything this author puts out. It doesn’t seem to matter which “brand” it’s under, I’m willing to give it a try. I didn’t love this book as much as I wanted to, though. I just wasn’t able to warm up to Logan. I thought he was an arrogant jerk who badly overuses profanity for a large part of the book. By the time we reached the end, I could see what was lovable about him, but it was almost too late at that point. For the most part, I liked Peyton. My reaction to her was proportionally opposite to Logan. I liked her up until the end when she started doing “too stupid to live” stuff. That left me scratching my head trying to figure out what it was that Logan was attracted to.
A phenomenal read! This book is an enthralling fast pace page-turner that is well written and will keep you on the edge of your seat with all the excitement, in anticipation of what is to come next. The plot is consistent and flows smoothly. It is action-packed, full of drama, humour, witty banter, and intrigue. The characters are strong and perfect together; their chemistry is sizzling hot and off the charts. The ideas are well-developed and there is a great pace from scene to scene. A truly fantastic read; definitely recommended!

Ok, so this is the second book of the series, and even tho they are different stories they have some very small similarities. I won't tell you what, you'll have to found out for yourself jeje. It was kind of a game, broken rules, and possessive characters. And after the first book I was really curious about what this one will provide. It didn't disappoint, let me tell you. It was raw, possessive, and, yes, a bit dark. So... enjoy the darkness....
While I loved the first book, this was one was just too cliché. Like in a bad way. ***spoilers***
Maybe other people like this, but when the main chick decides to do something stupid despite telling herself that it's stupid and running off to do it while she leaves her lover behind knowing that he would tell her it's stupid..... it's just overdone. I know this author is capable of so much better work. I'm not giving up on her.
Holy Cow. Ms. Myers is a shocker. This one took me by total surprise. Well done. I love all the different ways she writes. I am in continual awe of her ability to lead you along and just as you think you get it she pulls the other way. Logan and Peyton were definitely dark horses. I love being along for the ride. You will enjoy this dark romance.

I really enjoyed this book until the end, and I am quite sad to say that I doubt I will be reading anymore from this author because the ending was practically the same as book one and it is so annoying that for me they leave it open with no closure to the story, I will say I really did enjoy the story and if you like books with an open ending you will definitely enjoy this one and the first book because it was only the ending that spoilt it for me.
This is the second book I’ve read by this author, I read it immediately after finishing the first one! This is another one of those books that you have trouble putting down until you have finished it. The plot is great, and the characters are well rounded and likeable. I am really happy about finding a new author that I enjoy reading this much. It’s not an overly long book and it is well worth the read. Heather C. Myers usually captivates me with her stories but this one did not quite get me. I could not connect as much as I wanted to with Logan. He was a bit too much for me. But luckily he develops through the story. But it is a well written story that has a nice storyline and plot. It has a bit of drama and romance. I would have liked the ending to be more specific and not so much like the ending of the first book in this series. An enjoyable read.
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just couldn't get enough of it and once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I recommend that you read it.

Peyton is excited to be working on her graduate degree. She's nervous about her Advisor Logan because of his bad boy rough reputation. Don't miss how their attraction grow and flows and won't be held back. Their unusual chemistry has them crazy for the other and along the way they realize it's so much more then they could of known.
Logan is a criminology professor and Peyton is his TA. These two have sparks the instant they meet. Loved that Logan and Peyton's relationship is a slow burn but so worth it. Their romance was intense, dark and exhilarating and perfect. I look forward to reading the next book in the Dark and Deadly series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
A Reputation Dark & Deadly by Heather C. Myers is Logan and Peyton's story. There's lots of swearing in the book (which I don't mind), and lots of sex (which I love!) Oh yeah, and a bad boy professor with a good girl teacher's assistant.

I immediately fell in love with Logan. I enjoyed how brutally honest he was with everyone. I didn’t connect with Peyton as much though. She second guessed herself a lot and that always created trouble. The ending didn’t quite make sense to me. I felt like it was super rushed and felt like I missed something.
I'm a big Heather Myers fan and it's books like this that make me so excited. Once again she hits it out of the park. I loved this book and highly recommend it. It was a great read and I couldn't put it down.
I enjoyed this one much more than the first book. I hope they keep getting better & better. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book via booksprout.
A Reputation Dark & Deadly, by Heather C. Myers, is the 2nd book in the Dark & Deadly series. This story includes an absolute foul mouthed alpha male and a graduate student that will push & shove while pushing them both to their limits. The story was dark with a hidden deadly element. Well written and a dark read. The characters were both strong in their own rights, but with pieces of vulnerability that are shown.
Tenured Criminology Professor Logan Jeffrey is foul mouth, sexy as hell with loads of attitude. Peyton Hart is his new teachers assistant as well as his student. Sparks fly from day one between them. Logan and Peyton are amazing together. I found myself so caught up with them I found it impossible to put down. I must say the way it end was the cherry on top. I will recommend it to everyone I know and plan to read it over many times.
This was a great romance with characters that were exciting and edgy, the story was well written although there were a couple of mistakes it was nothing that deterred you from the story and held a steady pace and kept you wanting more. I truly enjoyed the story and if you enjoy an exhilarating romance with an older man with a dark side, you should enjoy this to.

I am a complete sucker for teacher/student relationships involving an older man. I really loved Logan Jeffrey’s character; his potty mouth and bad boy persona had me laughing and smiling throughout the entire story. I didn’t relate much with Peyton’s character. I found her good girl stature to be a little annoying and not my cup of tea. However, I still thoroughly enjoyed the story. Just because she wasn’t relatable to me doesn’t mean I am going to lower my rating of the story. The sex scenes were steamy and enjoyable, and let me reiterate: Logan Jeffrey is hot hot hot!
I am still left scratching my head at the ending, unsure if I missed something or not. I do like what I think happened, but a little more clarification would have been nice to have. Therefore, I am giving four stars due to the ending being slightly confusing and feeling a bit rushed. For example, I would have liked to know what happened to her friend that was also obsessed with Logan. Her character seems to disappear after the party, and I would have enjoyed some drama regarding the unique relationship between Peyton and Logan. You can never have too much drama!
I can't help but be amazed by the volume and variety of writing Heather C Myers can produce. This is a good, very well written book, but uses F**K in all its variations too much, which takes away from the story line. I’m an engineer that works in a manufacturing environment and I’m here to tell you that kind of language, although used, is NOT used in the volume that it is in this book. Also in this day and age I can’t see any university or corporate environment that would allow an individual to treat students/employees like the professor did in this book. Reminiscent of Tami Hoag, Nora Roberts and similar authors, I'll read more by her in the future.
