Why did I have to get partnered with the football superstar? Dean Harper is the best running back our school has had in years. Tall, confident, too handsome for his own good. You know the type I’m talking about.
All the girls practically worship the ground he walks on. Any one of them would kill to be as ‘lucky’ as me. Who wouldn’t want to be forced to spend the next six weeks with him?
But I’ve got enough on my plate without having to worry about falling in love with a smoking hot football pro. I’ve just got to hold myself together and not get distracted by his toned, muscular body… Ahh, it’s happening already!
If he thinks I’m going to do all of the work, he’s got another thing coming. Just because he’s good at throwing a football around, it doesn’t mean he’s getting a free pass with me!
The professor will fail us both if he doesn’t pull his weight. How do I get this bad boy to cooperate? More importantly, how do I stop myself from falling for his irresistible charm?
The Project is a steamy football romance story with a college jock vs nerdy girl theme and a heartfelt happily ever after.

for as short as this was, it was pretty cute. very insta love & moved very fast for a main character that wanted to avoid it. cute, fun, relatable but i wish is was more real.
The Project (A Football Romance Story) by Amber Heart • Rainbow Getting paired with the star football player for a project that is 40% of her grade is not how Leigh wants to spend her time, but their professor won't let them out of it. So she's stuck trying to work with Dean.... Who doesn't seem to care about making time to work in the project. However Leigh isn't like all the other girls around him... To read what happens between Leigh and Dean you'll have to read The Project. It's a sweet and quick YA HEA, perfect for cuddling under a blanket and getting lost in the story. Due to sexual content this novel is recommended for readers 17 and older. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via the author via instafreebie for an honest review
5 Stars I purchased a copy of the novel The project: A Football Romance Story {College Friends book 1} by Amber Heart and this review was given freely. This book includes the 4 star story Our Secret: A Cinderella Story, the 3 star novel Money Eyes: A Thriller Romance Novel, and the 2 star novel Trust Fund Bad Boy: A Bad Boy Romance Novel. The Project itself is an easy flowing college based story of indifference turning into a forever love between the extremely organized and focused brainiac Lehigh and the football player Dean she tutors.
Also contains the stories 4 stars Our Secret; 2 stars Money Eyes; 2 stars Trust Fund Bad Boy
The project : **** Excellent rise of feelings with very good characters and dialogues. Leigh is assigned with the star of the university's football field, to a project they must determine, but he is not the student most involved in his studies. But if he fails, she fails. This is complicated because she doesn't support his sufficiency in the power he has to attract girls, and it's usually easy for him to get what it wants from them. Each of them will have to consider the other and discover themselves to succeed.
Another great read from Amber Heart! Great storyline, well developed characters with just enough angst to make it worth the read. It was a delight to read...you should already be tapping that 1-Click button to get s copy for yourself!❤ (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and totally enjoyed it!)
Having read this as the 2nd book of College Friends, I wanted to say how much I enjoyed this story. The jock and nerd assigned to a project together, but on the nerd taking it seriously, to begin with. Things change and romance blossoms, but please, it is worth reading the story as the author has written it!.
A football player meets his match with a sassy auburn haired beauty
A college professor takes 2 students ask them to come up with a ideal for a project to present together for 40 percent of their grades . Or they both fail .18+
This was a super short insta love book. It took me about an hour to read it and it was one dimensional. So, if you’re looking for a very a+b=c quick read while at the airport or just waiting for someone, then this will fill that hour.
While in college one young determined lady was assigned to work on a project with the football player. He was not happy either. But with her scheduling and determination things begin to happen. This is a fast read, for me, and was enjoyable story line.
The Project was a short sweet read! Leigh and Dean get partnered up for a project that is 40% of their grade. They definitely started off on the wrong foot with assumptions about each other. If you are looking for quick read this is it!
Super quick novella. It’s like when you take the main events in a story and through them all together without how you really got there. Needs more flesh added to the bones of the story.
This was a super quick read. I knew this when I started it. I wanted a quick read after reading another book that was so dark. A brain cleanse, if you will. I enjoyed it and it was exactly what I expected.
I enjoyed the story for the most part, I'm just not a huge fan of novellas. I didn't realize that this story was a novella because there was another book right behind this story, so I was only 11% into the story but it seemed like it was already over. It just moved way too fast which is the case most of the time when I read novellas. It wasn't insta-love, but the story skipped through time (3 weeks later and one month later) and then they were in love. I didn't get to experience most of it. The parts that I saw were good, I just wish there were more. I feel so tricked.
This book and series is an interconnected standalone and I can't wait to see what happens with the next couple in this series and continue reading the series.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this book. It was short, sweet and smexy. Dean may have been a phenomenal football player, but he was also smarter than people gave him credit for. Leigh was smart, and I liked how she changed her tune to give Dean a chance despite her misgivings. Good quick read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review. This is the first story in the Her Pleasure bundle. I was surprised as to how much I enjoyed this story. The characters were well developed and their story, though not original, was told in a way that gave it its own newness. It's a sweet and short story and highly recommended.
This was a sweet romance between the big man on campus, star running back Dean and nice, hardworking, studious Leigh. When they get paired up to work on a huge project for class they both find out first impressions are not what they seem. I liked the banter between them and the slow progression of their relationship. It was cute. This story took a little over an hour to read. Included are three others stories by the author, all of which I enjoyed when they were released earlier. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
Leigh and Dean are paired for a project worth 40% of their grade. She is not going to let him get a good grade and not pull his weight. In spite of his being the big football star on campus, she gives him no room to shirk his responsibilities. Of course he loosens her up some and from there it proceeds.
I am voluntarily reviewing The Project by Amber Heart for receiving an Advanced Reader Copy.
Another great book by a great author.
It is funny how he is always surprising her by not doing what she thought he was going to. Most of the time when she thought they were meeting so she could interview him it would be anything but.
Very short and to the point. I have no problem with novellas but it is really hard to get a good story when it is so short and this just didn't pull it off. The writing would switch perspectives with no warning, the characters were fun it not fully developed, and the story was predictable. The only reason it's not 1 star is because I did like the banter between the characters. Beyond that the story was just flat.
