Abnormal psychology concerns conditions known as mental disorders. In the first chapter, Sarason and Sarason review some historical background in diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders from ancient Greece to the modern era. In the following 2 chapters the authors discuss 7 different perspective in abnormal psychology, and the rest of the book is devoted to classification, epidemiology and treatment of mental disorders as defined by "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" (DSM-IV-TR).

A well-written and very informative book, but unfortunately it has some irritating mistakes especially at parts the authors discuss about biological perspective.

I first read it in college..it is excellent. It is where I first learned about Maladaptive behavior.

This is a well written great book that goes into finite detail about specifics of human behavior.

For anyone who enjoys reading about the human brain I cannot imagine them not thoroughly enjoying this book.

Iba no tan mal, con pequeños errores pasables, hasta el capítulo de trastornos del neurodesarrollo y el tratamiento del autismo.
En general es un buen compendio pero no debe usarse como fuente principal, tal vez solo como una referencia de conceptos pero de cualquier forma es mejor dirigirse a especialistas actualizados de cada área.
