Reginald Bones has multiple personalities. But unlike most people with this disorder, his identities co-exist together. Kind of like brothers living in a single body, fighting for usage, and compromising tastes.
There's Bones, the dark, damaged soul who hates women, and then Reginald, the kind and optimistic personality that keeps up their normal appearance.
Bones' needs are simple--not interacting with the world. But that leaves Reginald slowly dying of boredom.
Reginald's life is saved when he happens to interact with a beautiful woman visiting the cemetery they own. His joy is short-lived when he realizes he's opened the door to Bones' dark past, which can never be closed again.
I’m a husband and author, and I may be a little religious about both. I like writing hot sex and encapsulating it in the delicate white silk of devotion, commitment, and psychotic obsession.
I have read every one of Lucian's books and loved them all, and this is no exception, except this series is very different from what he has written before. It's about Reginald and Bones, both the same person, but both so very different personalities, Dark/light; they each look at life and women very differently. Winter is the object of their desires, How will she choose between them?, does she have to choose? The story is really intriguing, How did Reggie and Bones get like this?, What happened in their past? Will Winter be able to help them? This story just gets better and more intriguing, just when I think I love Reggie, Bones being Bones does or says something and I change my mind and think no I love Bones, poor Winter has a decision to make but..... As with all Lucian's work it's never as it seems. Reggie loves Winter but as things unfold he disappears, and she is left with Bones who isn't as bad as she first thought and she realizes she loves him also. The sex scenes, well lets just say they are HOT HOT HOT. This story is beautifully written about a split personality with both sides being strong. . I really feel for Winter, she has had a real shi@y life so far, and now she has fallen in love with a man with split personality. And then there is X to deal with, we meet him at the end of book 2, He wants to come out to play but Winter is afraid of him and what he could do, she tells Bones in the daylight hours and as you can imagine he's not to pleased. Bones wants to find out what happened to him in the past and Winter agrees to help him find out, enter Z !!!! Lucian has done it again left his readers hanging on as he leaves it on another cliffhanger, Grrrr Lucian you think i would be used to it by now, can't wait for book 4, Thank you Lucian you really are the word master.
If you like trying to unravel a mystery, this series is for you! It's gripping and gritty, full of twists and turns, and lots of raw, sexy, smoldering scenes.
Book 1 Bones is a dark and tortured soul with secrets. Reggie is the light, wanting only to save Bones and experience life. The interaction between these two very different and unique characters, was at times funny and sometimes harsh. Then Winter comes into the story, tortured by her own demons and past. She cranks up the heat and begins to unravel Bones and Reggies tightly wound world. It's all new to Reggie, wanting a woman, and want her he does. Bones is disgusted and confused by her and despite his best efforts to dismiss her, he is drawn to her. Will Reggie and Bones continue to exist together or will one win out over the other? I don't want to see either of them go. Will Winter save them and herself or cause more grief to all of them?
Book 2 Reggie and Bones are very loyal to each other. Their reaction to Winter tests their loyalty and brotherly bond. Reggie and Winter experience love together, a first for both of them. Bones fights their love and his own softer feelings towards Winter. Through little clues, we are given a glimpse into their mysterious past It makes for a great read, trying to unravel the truth about Reginald Bones. We were given just a taste of a new intriguing character that only amplifies the mystery, (didn't see that one coming). So far this series has left me a little bewildered, wanting, needing more.
Book 3
The dynamic changes with more twists and turns. The animosity between Bones and Winter is ever present. Bones hating Winter, blaming her for coming between him and Reggie. But Winter isn't feeling hate for Bones, she's feeling love and all she wants to do is help him. Enter the new Personality, a sexy, mysterious and not so likable manipulative character. He makes himself known to Winter. She doesn't want to deal with him, but he has answers to this twisted macabre puzzle. Bones starts feeling and wanting things he never thought he would want or deserve. They try to unravel the vague clues they've been given, piece by piece they are determined to put this complex puzzle of Bones together. Unlock and open the doors in his mind that have been sealed shut. Along the way they discover a new piece to this puzzle, a new character. Who is he, what does he want from Bones? He seems to have all the answers, but he'll make them work for those answers. Thanks to these clues, they found out one shocking and unexpected truth. I can't wait to see where Lucian takes this story. Bring on book 4!
What can I say!!! Oh My GOODNESS!! Lucian Bane has done it once more!! This series is remarkable. When you read part 1 you will WANT part 2 and 3 because I NEED part 4 in my hands now!! This series takes you on a psychological roller coaster ride!! Reginald Bones is a man with MANY thoughts and many personalities. He is funny, mysterious, dark, and everything in between. There were times I was laughing out loud and then there were times I was biting my nails wondering what was next. If you are looking for a series that will keep you on the edge of your seat Grab Reginald Bones by Lucian Bane. You will get addicted to this author and his books!!!
Having the first three books to read back to back was nice. I knew that there was a fourth book and thought that it would be the end but after reading reviews of it I realized that the cliffhangers were going into a fifth book. Another author did this to me. Her characters went on and on with the "I don't deserve you" back and forth between each other just to drag the story out. I don't like cliffhangers and only bought this set because book four was out. I'm not going to finish this series. I liked the whole multiple personality thing but Winter was a twit.
BOOK 1. This book is by far the best and most different of Lucian's writing. A complete world wind. I don't even know how to express, what's going on in my mind right now. I feel like I won't do this book the proper justice it deserves. That's what this book does to me. I'll just tell you how I felt, while reading it. FUUUUUUUUNY!! So so funny. I was laughing so hard, I was crying. Very suspenseful, at least for me. I still don't know what happened to Bones and it irks me lol. Thanks Lucian for the cliffy AGAIN!! Hahaha. Sadness, yes I felt sadness for all the characters, but hopeful. Winter needs reggie and reggie needs winter, to help Bones that's for sure. How will they do it? We will have to wait for the second book to find out. Oh and it's not a Bane book without the HOTNESS!! Oh boy, sizzling HOT!! The chemistry is off the charts. Towards the ending was flipping awesome. I honestly didn't think Winter was going to be as calm or as understanding, with what she found out about Reginald/Bones. What did she find out, you ask? Ohhhhhh, you must read the book to find out. *snickers* I can't wait to see how it all unfolds with part 2. A+++++++
BOOK 2. This is going to be a very short review because their is so much I want to say, but I know I'll spoil it. Complete mind bender. Like WOW!! Never EVER thought this book would've taken me where it has taken me. Never EVER saw that coming. I'm still in shock over what I just read. Lucian you have left me speechless again!! Holy SH*T!!!! Man I really want to talllllllllk. dammit all to hell. Ohhhhh and I don't think your sorry about the huge cliffy you left us. GRRRRR!! All I can say right now, is I'm in SHOCK. fantastic job again Lucian!!
BOOK 3. Once again, Lucian has taken me on a roller coaster ride. Going up and up and up, then free falling down into the abyss that is Bones and Winter. Not sure if abyss is the right word, but it's deep, dark, ongoing. A free falling of many emotions that's more than just simple words that describe this book and how I felt. Sadness, happy, angry, just seem too blah for what this book represents. It's more!! More than I can comprehend. It pretty much left me speechless. I feel like I need a week to figure out how to give this book the justice it deserves, but even then, it would be impossible to do. That's how much Lucian's book affected me. I'm in awe of his talent. I've read all of his books and I think by now I'd get an understanding of his writing. Of where the books are heading when I start to read. NOPE!! He suprises me EVERY.DAMN.TIME!! And Reginald Bones 3 is no exception. Completely thrown for a loop at the end, let me tell ya. Ohhhh was I piiiiiised with another cliffy!! Of course Lucian is known for a cliffy, but this one took the whole damn cake. Not a piece, THE WHOLE DAMN THING!! THANKS LUCIAN!!
DEEP DARK EROTIC ROLLERCOASTER ROMANTIC SUSPENSE!!!!!!!!!!!
My new favorite by Lucian Bane. Reginald Bones has multiple personalities. The banter between Reggie and Bones will literally having you laughing out loud. The suspense of wondering what happened to him , to make him split himself into 2 personalities. There's a very dark cloud that hangs over Bones. Reginald tries to keep the darkness at bay. Then comes a woman named Winter Rose, and Reggie is falling fast for her. Bones can't stand women. OH!!!! By the way,,,,,They own a graveyard. That's how they meet Winter.
This series will have you on such an emotional dark, erotic ride,,that takes the reader on so many twists and turns. You'll want to hate this character,,,then love him ,,,then back to hating. Lucian Bane had me feeling that,,, I might be crazy. I'd love to see this series, be a movie!!!!
It's been an honor,,to be apart of watching and reading, Lucian Banes journey. He's evolved right in front of my eyes... AWESOME JOB,
from Lucian Bane--fabulously written characters who pull you into the erotic darkness as only Lucian can. Fast-paced and wickedly balanced between the darkest parts of Mr. Bones, and the world of love and romance Reginald lives for. Every HEA is defined by the person who desires one, but what happens when the definition is written by more than one? I'm reading on my Kindle so the three books flow seamlessly, which helps a great deal since I haven't been able to stop since page 1. work this good, characters this good, a story this good--these are the reasons I've been and will remain a dedicated reader. Best series for me.
Lucian Bane continues to amaze my mind with his work. The Reginald Bones series is one wild ride that will keep you guessing. If you love dark, psychological mind games, mystery and erotica then this is the series for you. A dark read that will make you feel a tidal wave of emotions and will keep you guessing. Complex characters that you will love to love and at times love to hate. A truly unique series not to be missed.
Intriguing story about a man with multiple personalities and the woman who falls in love with him.
These are the first books I have read by author Lucian Bane and they won't be the last. This series sucked me in from the start. Couldn't tell if I was coming or going at first, but that is part of the greatness of these books. I am off to read the next book in the series to see how this all plays out!
The character bones and reggie. They go back and forth working their way little cemetery keeping to themselves. See one's and reggie are in the same body! They see a womAn visit a grave everyday, her brother. Reggie falls for her but bones is not having it.bones eventually let's reggie have a go. She falls for them both. She helps them learn to live. Live is going fine until A makes an entrance. It was interesting an a whirlwind. I loved the story
A very unique story, that contains 3 very colourful characters, all in one set so no need to be scrabbling for the next part and a wasting valuable time and you will be scrabbling believe me!
I've reviewed all the books individually and am hot footing it on to book 4 as with all Mr Banes books there are twist and subplots glore, not to mention the steamy hot characters. All building for one explosive finale....
Do you like roller coasters? Do you like suspense? Are you afraid of the dark? Do you like your romance a little on the dark side? If you answered yes to any of these then let me introduce you to the most FUBUR story that will have you craving for more. WInter, Reginald and Bones will not disappoint. Thank you Mr Bane for bringing me into their world. Can't wait to see what happens next.
I'm a first time reader of Lucian Bane. Holy Hell this book was ahhhmazzing!
I love dark, twisted reads that are a complete mind fu*k.
I won't write any spoilers, but this isn't like any book you've ever read. A definite must read. Reginald Bones is a delightful mess. One not to be missed.
I can't rate this. I had to quit reading. Bones and Reginald share one body but two very distinct personality. Bones considers Reggie to be pure and light, while he is dark and disturbed. There was a lot of back and forth, hints of trouble ahead, and I just found myself not wanting to move forward. Maybe in the future.
This was an amazing series! Love this! You need to read this to find out more about Reginald Bones & Winter. So good, this will be that series that you want to go back and re-read again and again. 5 STARS!
You can't go wrong with Reginald Bones! Immerse yourself in this darkly twisted story. You will be pulled into their lives and it will have you feeling an array of emotions. I love their story! Their story is like none I've ever read before. Definitely 5 stars!
Book 1: Absolutely enthralling!! Once I started it I couldn't put it down. The story is heart wrenching and thrilling and kept me on the edge of my seat anticipating the next page. As usual Lucian has out done himself once again. I have to admit I am totally addicted to anything written or co-authored by Lucian Bane. Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant mind Mr. Bane.
Book 2: What can I possibly say that has not been already said? This book Is phenomenal, heart racing, mind boggling, and leaves you begging for more. it's funny, heart wrenching, maddening, and shocking, but most of all it makes you feel each and every character. As always Mr. Bane you have shown us what a brilliant mind you have.
Book 3: I absolutely love all of Lucian's books but, I must say, this series has captivated me from jump. These characters jump from this book and come to life more and more with each page. I felt every single emotion. I cried, laughed (a lot) fell in love, dance on a truck, and roller skated lol. Lucian Bane is a brilliant author that pulls you in so tightly you can't let go until it's done. AGAIN MR. BANE YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN! I love that Bones and Winter admit how they feel about each other and their commitment to each other will see them through anything, "The Sh*t Rainers" Then X wants to destroy everything with his manipulating devious ways. Tormenting poor Winter. I was so rapped up in this book I couldn't put it down and the next thing I know it was ending with BOOM!! Love Love Love this series and strongly recommend reading
Holy Mother F*n Sh*t!!!! This series. This ending. I need number 4 and I need it now!I cannot say enough good things about this story and all parts of Reginald Bones. This is one of the most fascinatingly horrific and beautiful stories I've ever had the pleasure of reading. The author created something I've never read before and made it so that the reader had no choice but to dive in and immerse themselves into everything Reginald Bones. The writing and the story sucked me in from beginning to end. The characters were written really well and had such depth and growth throughout the stories. There was always something new to learn about each of them. The Sherlock Holmes in me wanted to figure out whatever there was to figure out and get to the bottom of what happened to Reginald, Bones X, Z and everyone and everything involved. I loved how being around Winter sort of "cured" or "calmed" Bones. He began resembling Reginald in some forms and embracing his sweeter, gentler side. He was definitely super sexy and I felt myself fall for him. He, of course, was not without his faults, though. I loved watching Bones fall in love. It was painful and beautiful and gut wrenching. And that ending!!!! OMG! I'm so happy there's more because I didn't want it to end. I highly recommend this story to everyone.
These books blow me away in terms of the prose and character development. Unfortunately, they don't actually seem to end. It's more a bunch of serial episodes than a series of complete books, with every "book" ending on a cliffhanger and nothing much ever being resolved. After six or seven it got tiresome and I lost faith in the author's ability to tell a complete story.
This was an intriguing and unique book; unlike any other, book I have read in the past. The reader is not really sure what is going on, you just feel like you are along for the ride. The writing was excellent; I had a really hard time trying to decide which quotes to include in this review. "She kissed him with all the passion and boldness of a real woman." In part 2, the reader again has no clue what is going to happen next or what is going on with the main character Reginald Bones. The female lead character Winter; is also a fascinating character. She is intelligent and empathetic and shows her true care and concern for Reginald and Bones. "She scanned the surreal scene again, desperate for some sign of what to do. But all she found was the cheery promise of life, dancing in the arms of death." Part 3, Bones may have started off hating pretty Winter but things have changed during this book. The writing was phenomenal, the story absolutely original and one of a kind genius. "She was a living link to his other life, a tool, a weapon, and a potential threat to his freedom." "Her afterthought for his feelings tickled him in so many ways. How adorable." "He'd meant to just wet it but her succulent silk devoured his mind and illicit demands gripped his body."
THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A SERIES LIKE REGINALD BONES....LUCIAN BANE AT HIS BEST
Can Lucian Bane ever put a foot wrong? Will he ever write a series that doesn't have you taken away by your imagination? The short answer.....NO!!!! Think for a moment, DOM WARS, MERCY, RUIN, THE SCRIBBLER GUARDIAN and DESECRATING SOLOMON....all series that Mr. Bane has given us. Lucian has gone beyond all my expectations with this newest entry into the literary world.
Reginald Bones was unlike any story that I have ever read. A MASTERFUL WEB of MYSTERY, INTRIGUE and PSYCHOLOGICAL TWISTING. This is the story of Reggie and Bones, two men sharing the one body, for a reason yet to be determined. I only know that when Lucian does reveal all, it is going to be one almighty mind twisting reason. The fact that they share one body is rather bizarre, but it works - at times you completely forget this important fact of the story. There are definite differences between the two, once you comprehend what is actually going on, you realise that they are two completely different sides of the one man. A man, who is struggling with life in such a way, that any psychiatrist/psychologist would just love to study.
The one thing that Lucian does brilliantly is the conversations that Reggie and Bones have with each other - you would swear on a bible that they are two men carrying on a typical "man chat". The one liners, the wit and all the sarcasm are definitely traits that Lucian has and he has brought these out in Reggie and Bones. In a word - the man is a genius.
But there is a third character to this story. Winter Rose Brown. A young woman living with heart wrenching guilt over the death of her brother, Sebastian. Atonement is what she is looking for and what she hopes to find through the "brothers", but she might just get more than she bargained for. Quite ironic really, when Reginald falls in love her and Bones hates the very sight of her - this leads to some very interesting interactions.
From reading book one it is automatically assumed that Bones was the real person and Reggie, the split that came later. But early on in this second installment Lucian poses the question:
What if Reginald was the real person here, and not Bones?
Is Lucian trying to throw the reader off or is he getting the reader to think outside the box? It's not only the reader who begins to wonder, it is also Winter who questions, who is the real man? As Winter attempts to delve into the secrets of this man and his "brother", she comes up with more questions than answers. Her attempts to solve the mystery of Reggie and Bones, turns into a catastrophic event that will change the lives of all three. It will bring about the most unexpected cliffhanger that I have ever come across in a book.
Yet again Lucian's web has been woven and the fly has been drawn in for the spider to play with. He doesn't allow for the reader to become comfortable with their thoughts on where the story is headed. He pushes the limits of your imagination, challenging you to question what you have read and to see beyond his words. There are so many twists and turns, that your mind will be continually guessing as to where Lucian is taking you on this journey.
Along with his mystery, suspense, intrigue and thrills, Lucian is still able to throw in his usual WIT and SARCASTIC HUMOR that we have come to expect from him. Once again we are privileged to witness the unique banter that occurs between Reggie and Bones. Their conversation regarding what they are going to call Winter is a classic. The fight that occurs at the gas station had me giggling to myself - or so I thought. But, the one that really had me laughing out loud, was the affect alcohol has on Reggie when drunk by Bones and the affect beets have on Bones when eaten by Reggie. Birthday celebrations take on a different experience, one that come totally out of left field, but one that will touch your heart.. Only Lucian in his genius could come up situations and ideas such as these.
Book Three is yet another PHENOMENALLY INTRINSIC and MINDBLOWING installment. Be prepared for some UNBELIEVABLE MIND****ERY in the way that only Lucian can deliver it. Seriously, there is nothing like this series out there, he has approached the borders of all genres, but with this one he just runs through them, like they don't even exist. He plays with his reader's minds just as he plays with the 26 letters of the alphabet to create books that go beyond your imagination. I have read all of Lucian's books, in fact I have devoured every single word, and this one is the best by a long way.
This book concentrates on the relationship between Bones and Winter, among other things. They are both in dark places due to the disappearance of Reggie and are unsure of how to exactly handle their situation. They hate each other with a depth that is beyond measure, but there is also something that is drawing them together. Can they find their way out of the dark and acknowledge that they need each other? The emergence of X, at the end of book 2, has completely changed the status quo of everything. He holds secrets that Bones definitely needs the answers to. Will X help or hinder Bones and Winter in their search for the truth? Who is the mysterious Z? (See Lucian is playing with the alphabet)
Even though this is a DARK book, with OMINOUS overtones, Lucian is still able to sprinkle some very LGHTHEARTED scenes throughout it. The shopping trip to the mall, the foosball game, Truth or Dare and the skating trip, all had Bones and Winter displaying their softer and funnier sides. The skating trip was superb. To see Bones, who is always in control, struggling in a pair of rollerskates and declaring them "broken", just made my day.
It is through the mixture of foreboding darkness, wit, humour and sarcasm that Lucian tells his tale of Bones and his struggles without Reggie by his side. He has even managed to throw in a few SHOUTY CAPS to make this journey complete. His words are magical and spellbinding - something that I have come to expect from reading a Bane novel.
The biggest surprise that Lucian gives his readers is the fact that Reginald Bones 3 IS NOT THE FINAL BOOK in the series. WOW!!!! That one certainly came out of left field. YES!!! He left us with another CLIFFHANGER!!!! What a cliffhanger it was too - definitely not expecting that one!!!! Never ever underestimate the way in which Lucian's genius mind works.
In his own inexplicable way, Lucian has given his readers a thrilling suspense story that will keep them on the edge of their seats. From a graveyard to a basement, the ride is beyond belief. Never have I read a series like this before and I expect, that when the series is over, I never will again. It is totally insane just how magnificent this story is - one man, two minds, one woman - both loved and hated at the same time. It is amazing just how Lucian's imagination works. A brilliant psychologically thrilling series that will have you wanting to read it over and over again. The more you read it, the more you begin to understand just how much of a complex story it really is.
Once again Mr Bane has written a thoroughly magical series that has left me totally exhausted upon completion. When I finished reading it, I described it and its author as being indescribable - I only hope that I have done it justice.
I loved all of the books in this series! Lucian Bane is such a talented wordsmith. He tells a story like Michaelangelo sculpted David or DaVinci painted the Mona Lisa.
His tale of Reginald Bones is one of the best series I've ever read. It is one of those sets of books you'll tell all your friends about over and over until they come to their senses and read it! There is so much to this story: love, pain, good, evil, heartbreak and humor. All the feels!
I have read all of his books and they are all written with heart. You can almost feel the blood, sweat and tears involved in the crafting of each tale. With Reginald Bones, Mr. Bane exceeded my expectations... and the bar was already set so incredibly high for him.
Reginald Bones 1 Wow this book was unlike anything I have read before, not surprising for a Lucian Bane book, he always seems to surprise the shit out of me! This was such an intriguing storyline so perfectly written you get completely lost in. Reginald, Bones and Winter each equally have so much depth you can't help but get attached to each of the rather quickly. I could not decide who to route for with Reginald and Bones - I wanted them both to succeed and that is unlike me, especially when it's clear Bones is not a good guy from what he says he has done. Lucian wrote him is such a way I felt for him, bravo on that one! You get so completely engrossed in the story you don't realize it's ended.. I had to read that last page twice - of course it ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger and a pretty good one too because I kind of thought I had it figured out but no!! Way to go with this one - impatiently waiting for the next for sure!!!
Reginald Bones 2 OMG -- This book has completely and utterly drained me of all of my emotions. I thought the first one kicked my ass, but damn this one has ruined me. The psychological aspect of this book is a definite mind bender just as the warning states. Be prepared to scream, shout, cry, hold your breathe and be shocked beyond belief at that ending. There are so many things that happen within the pages of the book that will keep you on the end of your seat the entire time. I absolutely LOVE to HATE Lucian Bane for the mind fuckery he puts us through!!!
Reginald Bones 3 Ahhhh WTF with that ending....Lucian Bane's writing is purely evil and I just can't get enough!!!!! With this entire series I have tried to read slowly as I have not wanted it to end, yet I could not get to the end fast enough. I just continued to want more and more. He has such a way of completely sucking you into the story. I can't express how many emotions I have gone through reading this series. It made me feel like I was on an eternal loop, kind of like I was in a constant haze. I have cried so many times for so many different reasons, and could not be happier because of it!!! What a fucking fantastic ride and I can not be happier that it is not over yet!!!!!
