Mirabelle Walters Banks has left her past behind and will do anything to stay at River’s End Ranch’s and never set eyes on Southern California again, and happily takes a job in the housekeeping department. The ranch’s rugged, majestic landscapes just beg to be put down on canvas and she does whatever it takes to stay—all she wants to do is paint.
Tony Morales has had a lifetime to paint the scenery at the ranch, and as the head of security, he has plenty of time to work, paint—and not much more.
Mira is asked to paint a portrait of a favorite at the ranch—a gnome named Gorgeous George—and their paths collide, their passion for art and beauty tying them together. But when her past catches up to her, how can Tony make sure they’ll have all the time they need—together?

Another wonderful visit to River's End Ranch. I have loved every installment in the series so far and I hope and pray it goes on for many more books! I so wish RER was real!
Mischievous Maid is a lighthearted romance that simply hits you in the “feels good” department. Mira and Tony both work at River’s End Ranch Resort. Tony as head of security, and Mira as a maid at the main Bunkhouse hotel. Yet neither are doing what their heart’s desire – each is an artist creating the most vivid and beautiful paintings of the surrounding area. And both are holding onto secrets that may keep them apart if the’re not careful.
As always, Jaclyn comes to the rescue with the help of the fairies to send this couple on the right path. The rest is up to them, should they be brave enough to deal with the truth. Mira has fled California and is hoping desperately to remain hidden, to that end she’s made very few friends. But a commission for a portrait of a garden gnome soon changes that as she slowly lets people in. But trusting them with her truth is difficult. Tony is a hometown artist, never needing to leave the area. His paintings have become famous round the ranch but he hesitates in telling Mira exactly who created the paintings she so admires around the hotel. While neither’s truth is earth shattering, the lack of trust to expose themselves to each other is a problem that needs addressing.
I enjoyed Mira and Tony’s romance. A lighthearted romance full of characters we know and a few new friends to welcome to the River’s End family. If you enjoy Romance then Mischievous Maid and the entire River’s End Ranch series is something you may want to get started on – if you aren’t already caught up in it all

I really loved this story of Mira and Tony. Both having secrets they don’t want each other to know but should have. I love that they have so much in common such as painting and both working at the Ranch. I am happy they moved to nights with their jobs so they can spend everyday together to get to know each other. But a portrait of a Gnome? This book has lots of humor, and of course romance and many other things that make this a great story. I highly recommend this book and all the River’s End Ranch series. It’s a fun place to read about especially it’s quirky characters. I have read some out of order but that makes if hard if you don’t know all the characters but you still can read each book as a stand-alone. I do recommend reading from the book 1 and continue in order.
I will never grasp talent and skill of the ladies who cooperatively write this series!!! They could all have been written by one very talented author!!! Well done!
I must say it was quite unique to be reading about painters while my daughter was laying on the floor watching Bob Ross and painting! Great story! Thank you for writing and sharing it with me.
Ms. Caldwell weaves very interesting twists and turns into this tale. Although the reader knows the end of the story, the tale is told in such a way as to keep the reader's interest throughout.
Mira came to River's End Ranch to hide from her past. With Tony's help she is able to fulfill her dreams. Another wonderful story at River's End Ranch.
Cute and entertaining short story about two people who meet. Each has their own job at the Ranch but in their spare time they both paint. As they eventually get together, they realize they find each other mutually attracted.
Tony and Mira are great together. Everyone has a history, Mira did not think she could ever leave here behind and start a life, the life she wanted. I enjoyed going along on the ride as she came into her own artist.
An artist's delightful description of the ranch and surrounding glory. Cute story good for all ages of two artists who find each other and fulfillment in their craft together. - Babs
Average. Characters are not well developed. The plot is forced and average. It wasn't worth the money I paid. The series is good, but skip this one and save yourself some time and money.
Cindy Caldwell's latest addition to the RER series is amazing! No, it's not about a Weston, but brings to life the others that make the ranch so special!
Mischievous Maid is Book 15 in the River's End Ranch by Cindy Caldwell. It is another wonderful book in the series. I enjoyed every word of this sweet love story. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR EVERYONE!!!
What a cute story! I loved it. The maid on the run meets a security guy at the ranch all because she is terrified by frogs! Lol. But they soon find out they each share a passion for painting and become fast friends. And it doesn't take them long to fall for each other, but will her past catch up with her? And will things he is not telling her come between them? Read the book and find out! It's great!!
I love reading series, when I start a series I really like , I read them all till I finish and this one is fabulous. Loved how Mira and Tony met and how they gotten to know one another each keeping a secret. I can't wait to read about Bob and the bakery owner. I hope you do one on Elf , Wade and Dani.
The Chief of Security and one of the maids have something in common, and with a little push from Jaclyn it seems like that is going to get them together. Mira is a California's girl that's hiding, and Tony is a guy that has spent all his life in River's End Ranch. Both of them have an artistic eye and love to paint, and the views of River's End are perfect for them. They don't know about each other, but Jaclyn manages to get them together, with the help of gnomes. We have a couple of misunderstandings to add some drama, but in general is a very simple courtship and very straightforward romance.
I've always loved to draw and a book that tells a story about art was really pretty awesome. The wording of the story actually makes the pictures come to life. Truly awesome. Thank You!
