A book of poetry so good it tipped me into an existential crisis and two break-ups over the span of a year and a half

"Here comes the whole day
with an hour for lunch,
one day of paid bereavement
and late dusk with a mass
of fireflies—the tall night spilling
into the Pacific. Here comes
everything you worked for
and there it goes. And here
it comes back—anguish, sorrow,
the want for Sunday to last
a little longer, the honeysuckle
and oak across the street.
Here's to death, if it really does
exist, for wanting to take it all
away from us, to the mind's
parade and the projections
of memory."
