Rate this book
China Wilson has never had to struggle a day in her life, but when her father and mother become hooked on drugs, China finds her luxurious lifestyle snatched away right from under her nose. Her love for music is the only thing that helps her cope and keeps her sane. After her parents are murdered, China is left alone to fend for herself the best way she knows how. After losing both parents, China decides this is the time to finally follow her dreams and become a singer like she always wanted to be. After being signed to Gangsta Music Entertainment, which is the hottest record label in the south, China becomes all about her career and nothing more. She knows the entertainment business can be ruthless and messy, but she will not allow that to stop her from getting her paper and claiming her number one spot.

When China meets Tommy, her career takes off and she is willing to do anything to keep her name at the top of the charts. When Tommy and China become sexually involved with one another, China feels her career and heart are secure, but things take a turn for the worst when Tommy introduces her to Montreal, a new underground rapper that calls himself Lil’ Loco. Sparks begin to fly between China and Montreal, but they both belong to someone else. It isn’t long before China finds herself torn between two men. Who will she choose?

Miranda and Montreal have been together for over six years and have two kids together. When Miranda finds out about Montreal’s new record deal, she is excited about her man finally getting the recognition he deserves, but her happiness eventually begins to fade when Montreal starts spending more time chasing his paper and less time with her and their kids. Miranda begins to question herself and the stability of their relationship. She quickly realizes that the money, cars, and clothes are not worth losing the man she loves. Will Miranda be able to save their relationship, or will it be a little too late?

This was a good read. I felt so bad for China, losing both parents. She could have slowed down on the men though. I can say though that she was about her money. Money and fame can really change a person. Mandy came into all that money and still ended up broke. All I can do is smh. I would recommend this read. #UIP

Great read!

This was such a great read. Although it didn't end exactly the way I wanted it to. It was still very good. China and Tommy made such a wonderful couple. I really think they were made for each other. I liked Paul and Mandy together. Great read

A good read

This was my first read by Shanice. It was a really cute story. Money and fame can really change a person. I'm glad Montreal got it together finally even though it took Miranda leaving him to get it. China was cool but she fell for dudes way to quickly. I loved Mandy and Paul together and even though the circumstances werent ideal thank goddness she got away from Peanut. Overall this was a good story. #UIP

Stacking it Deep

This was a ok read. My favorite character in this story was Mandy. Mandy truly went through a lot with Peanut.. The drugs turned him into a monster... I wonder what would have happened if the accident never occurred.. I'm happy to see her happy in the end.. China to me was looking for love in the wrong places. I'm glad she just decided to leave the men alone and focus on her career. Miranda did right by leaving Montreal because he was just doing the most. He soon realized he made a mistake.... Better be glad she forgave his stupid butt.

Good Read

Good read I wondered who the people was that killed China's parents and if they were the same people that was after Mandy for the money that Peanut owed them. Glad Mandy found true love after what she went through. I think love is staring China in the face if she only would take the time to slow down and realize it and get past Montreal.
