I like the author’s last name.

I’m pretty sure Mount St. Helens is one of the strongest volcanoes I know of. It should be marked 6-Colossal in the VEI rank.

I learned that volcanoes can be helpful. They can produce geothermal energy.

I also learned there can be lightning in a volcano.

Explains types of volcanoes, how they develop, and how they are studied. Could go into more detail, but a good book to use as an introduction, review, or to just have in the classroom.

This informational text would be great to introduce volcanoes in the fifth grade. The book tells of the famous volcanoes around the world. The book also tells of land masses around the world that were created by volcanoes. The book gives the parts of a volcano as well.
