I'll keep this brief, but please don't take it as any less love for this amazing read. And the amazingness stems partially from nostalgia (one of my all-time favorite fanfictions) and of course, its story. I fell for the characters, rooted for them despite their taboo relationship, and pretty much holed myself into seclusion the first time I read it years ago. Re-reading it recently still brings up those feelings. It doesn't have the most complex writing style and it makes up for this in an unforgettable journey of recovery, self-acceptance, and romance.
Plus, it's the absolute sexiest when Paige and Madison hit that trust point.
holy effing hell!!!!! wow, just wow! I heard it was a good read, but bloody hell! Its was fab... all the emotions you get from this read is incredible! Its a page turner that you cant put down.
4.2 stars. A sweet story with a satisfying ending. Usually that kind of trauma is used a backdrop and rarely overcoming it is described in such detail, I liked how in depth it was handled in this case. Both characters were enjoyable and their relationship was incredible, I'm always a fan of properly developed emotional connection.
Some secondary characters could've used more depth like father/mother, they were too one dimensional. The story sometimes gets too sweet for my taste and the tone changed from drama to erotica but otherwise a great read. And it's free!
OMG people. The feels. This is an uber x/g that's done so well I can't even say. All I can ever wish is this author writes *moar* please. The beginning of the book is very very very difficult to get through. Paige is a trooper though. An intensely likable character. Sigh. This is definitely a re read sort of book. So good.
I'm an avid fan of Xena fanfiction, especially uber, which is probably a little odd seeing as I have never seen an episode of Xena. I'm drawn to the pairing of Xena (stoic, tall, dark and blue-eyed) and Gabrielle (feisty, short, blonde/strawberry blonde and green-eyed) in their many reincarnations and it doesn't bother me to read similar story lines over and over again. That said, I quite enjoyed this one and I liked the characterisations of Paige and Madison (especially that Madison was more of a closed-book). The editing was better than a lot of the online fiction I've read.
I would have given this four stars but I found the last eighth of the book started to drag.
This book is so problematic, I felt really uncomfortable with the relationship, first because of the age gap, “she looked so much younger than 21”, um, so, we are saying a therapist was attracted to a vulnerable child? I couldn’t finish this book because the concept and content is so wrong on so many levels. The girl was physically taken advantage of because she was vulnerable, now her therapist...no thank you.
A really sweet story! Did have some pacing issues though - the characters only entered a relationship at about the 50% mark, and there wasn't much development subsequently as the rest of the book was mostly sex scenes. Still, I adored Paige and Madison's relationship, especially how frequently and clearly they expressed their love for each other. I wish more novels would do that.
6 stars. I loved every single moment of this lovely story. It’s heartbreaking and I definitely did cry a couple of times because some moments hit a little too close to home for me but it was also full of hope and the sweetest, softest romance. I couldn’t get enough of this. I was hooked from the start and read it all straight through because I could not stop reading. Paige and Madison are both such strong and wonderful characters and their chemistry was through the roof. I loved how much they loved and trusted each other. It was all so beautiful. I already want to read it again that’s how much I adored it.
