With the groeliin attack stopped and the Deshmahne defeated in the north, there is a tentative peace, but war still threatens. The south remains unsettled and, though weakened, Raime has escaped. The key to stopping coming war rests with scattered allies, but can they survive long enough to work together in time to prevent another destruction?
Roelle, injured and near death, must find the healing necessary so that she can rebuild the Magi warriors. Alriyn searches for answers in an unlikely place, leading the Magi toward a path they had never considered. Isandra travels north where the Antrilii have uncovered something not seen in a thousand years.
Jakob now understands the reason for his growing powers, but there is much for him to learn about what it means for him to be one of the damahne. His search for answers leads him along the fibers and into the past, where he discovers Raime’s influence. If Jakob fails to master his powers in time, Raime will grow even stronger than before, and this time, there will be none who can stop him.
Jakob continues to learn how to use his new abilities slowly but will he learn them quickly enough to repair damages for which have done by evil means? Will he be able to save his brother from the madness and Roelle his good friend. Great series that I can't seem to put down. Has a great story line and some great characters.
DK has fast become one of my favorite authors. This series is my first of his, but well worth it. I already have the prequel series loaded and ready to start as soon as I am done with this one(The Teralin Sword).
I chose the rating of 3 stars because the story being told is a good and exciting story. However, there is too much going back, rehashing and redundancy for me. The story told in first 4 books could have been told in 2 books and would have constantly had us on the edge of our seats instead of skipping past the filler of redundancy to get to the next interesting and exciting part.
~85%. This book seems to be more of an interlude with everyone licking their wounds and/or learning from their mistakes. For an interlude with a minimal amount of combat, it's quite gripping but lacks some major danger, compared to the action-packed third book. More on my blog
This is a very well written and thought out series. I love the charaters and storyline. Youi will go through the pains and wonder that the characters share with you as you read this series. It is not a waist of your time reading this and will enjoy it as I have! Great Reading Evryone!!!!!
I am easily bored and a book has to gain my interest right away. This series did! I fInd myself reading far into the night just to see what happens to these interesting characters next.
I was surprised to be at the end of this book. With the other books in the series you gradually came to the ending, this one sort of hit you in the face. Series is definitely worth reading so I’m onto the Lost City
I love this author and I love this series. This book is better than the first three, and I expect as the story develops, the following books will be better still. I love the character development and how the story evolves. Can’t wait to see where this goes.
The longer the series goes the longer the unnecessary passages get. Is this the ghost writers writing fill between the action scenes? Show, don't tell.
All the different groups were having issues and learning how to solve them. The inter reflections this caused raised the need for more answers and have more questions to answer.
