Abigail Fork has just gone through a bad divorce. Not interested any longer in her job as lecturer at Columbia University and anxious to get away from her unbearably dull life; she takes the most courageous her life, quits her job and decides to go stay with her aunt Josephine in South Carolina.
However as she reaches her destination, new complications are awaiting her. Josephine Fork has disappeared without a trace, leaving for her niece a note in which she asks her to take care of her Café Library. Abby is confused and clueless, but manages to handle the café with the help of her aunt’s love sick employees Periwinkle and Leonardo. She also meets and gets attached beyond reason to adorable eleven years old Michelle. However what she cannot handle is sheriff Nolan and the inexplicable attraction she feels towards him. Both need to fight the demons of their past before they could dream of a future together
