The aim of this book is to help you understand how to lay down the foundations of good mental health early in your daughter’s life, and to keep her strong all the way through.’ Steve Biddulph
10 Things Girls Need Most is a dual gift. It provides the very best information that we have about girls growing up today – and, alongside, interactive tasks and self-exploration practices that will help you to put this into practice. These interactive tasks are simple questions for you to respond to. They immediately get you thinking about your own life, your family and, of course, your daughter. This book grew out of the growing concerns of parents about health issues being faced by their daughters – such
• feeling inadequate • suffering long periods of deep unhappiness • embarrassment about their developing bodies and appearance • experiencing friendship struggles • feeling alone in their struggles • unsure about their sexuality.
This is a whole new book on girls, and it has grown out of years of online discussions. It is a reflection of the issues that parents want to explore in more depth. Many of these are new. The information in this book will help your daughter to develop the necessary emotional and mental skills to keep her healthy throughout her whole life.

I devoured this book. I'm at the tale end of raising a girl...she's nearly a woman but even so there is so much to take from this book. It had me in tears and had me nodding in agreement. I have spoken to my daughter about things that are hard for me...body imagine. I apologised to her and a bit to my self for how I have felt about my own body and how this has impacted her. If you are raising daughters or even if you are in a young girl's life this is a must read book.
Really useful book for parents, as a non-parent it helped me understand my childhood years better. I gave 3 stars not for the information but for the writing style which I felt a bit heavy. Other than that, I recommend this book! Soon to come out in Romanian as well!
Steve Biddulph is my favourite parenting author and his latest book doesn't disappoint! I thought it may repeat a bit on Raising Girls (which I loved), but not at all! Full of great insights and very up-to-date on some of the challenges facing our girls these days. A joy to read and I took so much out of it.
Fantastic read for me as a dad of two daughters who grew up with no sisters or deep insight into womens’ worlds. Quick and easy to read, a must for fathers of daughters and a good reminder to us of all about what’s most important in life.
The menstruation ritual was a bit odd for my tastes but I understand the concept and intention behind it. Raising girls is so tough especially in this world we live in. Definitely need to give the stuff another listen in a few years time when mine is older.

More of a workbook that's directed at parents. A bit too much of a simple read and I'm not the right audience (childless, have nothing to do with young children or teenage girls).
Really great read. Interesting and thoughtful methods on how to raise girls. Hoping I can remember to do all the things Steve suggests, over the coming years.
An informative, easy to dip in and out of read. Good reflective questions as well as easy to understand information. A must for anyone raising daughters.
Awesome! Helpful, insightful and direct. Whilst it was reassuring to know we are on the right path, there are many subtle changes that can always improve our relationship with our daughter.
This book was awesome most of the time. I do not have children, but I related to this book as a daughter and as an aunt. This book covers many topics and most of the advice is accurate.
