For the last eight years Dr. Max has been my mother's psychologist ... and her lover. But now that she's out of the way, I'm going to make him mine.
Emily
All my mother ever did was use Max. Trading her own pathetic version of love to get her prescription drug fix. I saw the way he used to look at me. I know he wants me. I’m a woman now… and that bitch is finally out of my way. So I’m taking what’s mine. Look out, Dr. Max… I’m coming.
Max
My God, Emily looks just like her mother. I can see the vulnerability in her eyes… mixed with the womanly curves of her body. That combination just about drives me out of my mind. She thinks she’s playing me, just like her mother used to. But Emily is in for a real surprise. I know exactly what to do to make her all mine. And once I get her to my secluded country estate, I’m going to keep her there with me … and never let her leave.
Dirty Daughter is a standalone romance of over 47,000 words and includes some sexual scenes that may not be suitable for everyone. It intended for adults only. As a bonus, Dark Love: Part One has been included for a short time
The story started well but the end could be better. Many questions remained unanswered. There may be details of basement activities of Dr. Max, and something about his mental state.
I’ve read a lot of dark, erotic romances and most of them have a detailed story line. This has nothing. No background information aside from the minimum. Dirty Daughter is an apt title. The “hero” is a warped psychiatrist who wants to own Emily. Emily’s mother is dead and there is not enough information as to how she became what she was. I finished the book hoping the end would justify the reading of the book. It didn’t!

Wow kinda nuts! There is still a lot of questions I have about this story. I felt there stuff left unanswered. What to her father? Was there more to her mother? Did any Max's patients get any better after he screwed them up more? I would loved to know more, but it ended with them being happy with each other.
Emotional, captivating, intense, powerful, twisted, forbidden, exciting, forbidden, crazy, edgy, steamy, intriguing, dark... everything you expect in a dark romance by JB Duvane. Dirty Daughter is an unbelievably great story that will draw you in from the very beginning.
I volunteered to review an advanced readers copy of this book.
This was a twisted story. Emily is a damaged girl, just finished school. She is home for the first time in a while and her mother is just plain crazy. The story jumps to the death of her mother and we meet Dr. Max. He was in love with Emily's mom. But has eyes for Emily. I was a bit thrown off with this story. I wasn't sure what Dr Max was playing at. His little slaves that he kept was a bit creepy. Emily is just about as crazy as her mom.
The story was twisted and intense a times. If you need a dark read, this will do it for you.
I voluntarily received a copy for my honest review.
This is the first time I've read a book or tried to read a book in this genre and literally despise the Male character. There's usually some redeeming qualities or background about the main Male characters personality and behavior towards women or the woman they're obsessed with. But Max to me is just a predator, and potentially a rapist, narcissistic, sociopathic pedophile who needs psychological and spiritual help and therapy. This character doesn't deserve to be any kind of healthcare physician and it scares me to think how the author thought he could be a good man in any way at all he's not attractive at all. Usually these dominant men in these stories aren't bad guys and they never take without permission, but to do the things he did to and for patients as therapy is just despicable. I couldn't continue the story it was romantic or sexy, it's a tragedy in the making. Dr. Max likes to rope and dope!
Mmmm-WTF LOL the ml just in lust with fl... no love whatsoever 😕 oh, but he does tell fl that he loved her mother to the point that he asked her to marry him but the mom said no (bitch had issues) he was obsessed with her (the mom) that he installed spy cameras in her room!!! Honestly I think the only reason the ml was with the fl was because she reminded him of a young version of Amelia (her mom) which he never fails in reminding us throughout the book. Don't even get me started on the sex slaves he kept in the basement 😒 🙄. Anyway, the epilogue was a huge let down it ended with 4 month into the relationship with them fucking, and even in the epilogue he never tells he loves her. The HEA felt more HFN .... there's more shit to unpack like fl killing her mom because she wanted to keep the ml all to herself, in other words both are HUGE RED FLAGS. EVERYONE in this books suck 😕.

Dirty Daughter is quite an interesting book. Based on reading a few reviews I knew to approach this book with caution and it was a very good thing I did.
This book sheds light on the messed up yet realistic aspects of some Dom/sub relationships' dark origins; breaching so many morals and ethics in the process. Typically in books they skirt around and give the fairytale version to their readers, but this author was candid in revealing the real 'shades of fucked up' issues psychologically that the characters are dealing with.
Overall it was well written and has a thriller vibe to it. I expected the worse but the author was able to create the HEA so many want from novels. Its a recommended read for open minded persons.
I have lots of questions after reading this. There is really not a back story on either character. They are both crazy. She suffers from never being loved by either parent, not to mention the physical and mental abuse; and he is just... Well I don't know. What do you call a man who keeps girls chained in a basement for sexual use? Psychopath, yea that's it. It does have an HEA but I'm still not sure how it got there. Let's not forget the title... Dirty daughter. It's not a dirty story it's more desperate , and she is not in any way his daughter. It's really misleading.
Got this on a whim when it came in a free/cheap newsletter. Definitely some issues with writing and plotting, and the author didn’t manage to pull off the freak level without squicking me out, but it wasn’t terrible. Just know going in the darkness veers from “thrillingly taboo” into “damn that’s gross”.
This book was awful. Not sure what the author was going for but it missed all the marks completely. It was unrealistic and just plain ridiculous. I was listening to it on audio and the voice actor was horrible which twice ruined it for me. I DNF’d it an hour in and it was a five hour read on audio. I wasn’t into it at all and the writing was just plain horrible. Don’t waste your time.
The dude was really creepy.. then again it might just be because there wasn’t enough character development or insight on how they even got together at all. Like he’s just into his gf/wife’s daughter and when she dies he fucks her? 😅 The storyline is confusing.
I could not make it through the funeral part. It was so creepy he keeps thinking about taking advantage of this girl while at her mother’s funeral. He seems like a pedophile because it’s said he’s known her when she was a child. Overall really creepy male lead I wouldn’t recommend.

This book left me with a few unanswered questions about Max's basement activities with patients , the storyline was fantastic it had my attention right from the first page .
This book was odd. Not entirely unpleasant and had some rather dark themes to it that many books shy away from, but it felt unfinished with unanswered questions.
DNF. Amazon was offering this book for free so I downloaded it. It was terrible. I stopped reading about 20% in. I don’t mind dark romances but this was poorly conceptualized and poorly written.
This book is nice and twisty. Emily comes home from boarding school and is 18 now, with an alcoholic craptastic mom who dies but we don't exactly know what happened. She starts trying to seduce Dr. Max, who has some crazy secrets of his own. It's definitely hot and intriguing, and as was the way of the last couple books I have read by JB Duvane, I spend a lot of the story trying to figure out what's going on or what I'm missing. Well done. I very much enjoyed this. I received an arc.
Emily and Max are a hot and spicy combination very good read and hot book Max was my mother's lover and psychologist and she would use him for everything she had to and now she is gone and I have had a crush and I am now going to go to him and love him more than anything in her body Max has been keeping an eye on Emily for a long time and now she is grown up so he is going to go and keep her no matter what oh yeah good exciting and loving warmth so good I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book and it was so worth it. Wow, this was a twisty steamy one! What happens when you want the man your mother was with who also happens to be her therapist? A therapist with a twisted story of his own? You have a story that was dark and very very deep. I thought it was a great forbidden story that had a very detailed story.
