Author Kerry Hamm is back with her 11th (and final) volume of 'Real Stories from a Small-Town ER,' presenting to readers stories from a not-so-small ER, stories long forgotten, and recollections that didn't make the cut for her previous releases. Take a look at what happened when a group of bodybuilders met a scrawny man with a big mouth, try to figure out what Mr. Secret Agent was doing on the waiting room floor, and hold back your anger when you hear the tale of a hospital employee taking advantage of an elderly patient. Back with stories to make you laugh, cry, and dislike humanity, the final volume of the series is bound to keep you busy.
Sad to hear that this is going to be the last book..
Was quite upset m worked in the medical profession would bring forth a whole new writing ideas. Can't say how much I will !did them like a good friend who has moved to a different place , and can't meet up for a cup of tea anymore( well sure it will be coffee in the us, but can't beat a lot of Yorkshire tea especially curled up with my kindle and one of the books in my hand. Hope we will hear more from you Kerry, will miss you
This is the last in this author’s recollections of the numerous things she experienced and saw working in a small town emergency room. She tells her stories with a good writing style and a good sense of humor. The only complaints I had with any of her books were a few typos in a few of them but they didn’t take away from the book’s quality of the reading material being very interesting. With each book, just when I thought I had heard all the crazy or funny stories and that surely she would just end up telling similar stories that happened to different patients, the author surprised me time and time again with unique things that happened. I recommend this series of books to anyone who likes to read things like this. I don’t think anyone will be disappointed as I often stay up half the night to finish reading each of her books that I have read. Now that I have finished this series I am anxious to start the next series she came out with with submitted stories from others.
The best is for this book as I think it is her best yet. Also, the best if for Kerry as she tells her stories of happenings in the ER. This retired nude papers and loved these stories. I read this book after a very serious one. Thank you Kerry Hamm. I enjoy your books and will keep reading them
Having read both series I can highly recommend them. A mixture of madness and sadness just like any ER in any state. Written with respect and a big dose of humour. If you haven’t already get stuck into both series. And Kerry thank you again for showing the other side of emergency medicine x
I really enjoy her books, but I would suggest that they are an adult read not for youngsters, talking about preteens. The love she feels for her patients and colleagues comes through very clearly and it makes me want to be a kinder and more patient person... Working on that 😀! Thanks for your hard work Kerry!!
I think I may have read all your books so far and every single one of them has been enlightening. I have loved everyone of them. Thank you so much for making my night reading so enjoyable and sometimes sad at the same time. I look forward to reading your next piece of writing. Well done to you.
I've heard those exact words in the ER where I worked from friend or relative of patient being treated for something really stupid, (cutting leg with chain saw because tree wouldn't hold "still"). Fast read, can identify with most of the stories.
A good book to take you away from your daily life. Even a bad day does not compare to the life of the ER or more modernity called ED. I suppose that department is better than just a single room. Hope you also enjoy the read.
Will miss your stories they make for a good laugh and makes my shift go by faster and it is nice to know I am not the only one dealing with the insanity of this world
I worked in a hospital for 26 years, many of those years closely with the Admitting department. What this author describes were everyday occurrences for us. No-one needs to hold my beer for this book.
Kerry Hamm has yet to write a book not worth reading. I worked in the ER for years and still enjoy the stories of the funny, strange and sometimes tragic incidents that can happen.
I cannot get enough of this authors writing. This is another humorous, and sometimes distressing account of what it's like to be a registrar at a small town emergency room.
