Victoria Pinder grew up in Irish Catholic Boston before moving to the Miami sun. She’s worked in engineering, after passing many tests proving how easy Math came to her. Then hating her life at the age of twenty four, she decided to go to law school. Four years later, after passing the bar and practicing very little, she realized that she hates the practice of law. She refused to one day turn 50 and realize she had nothing but her career and hours at a desk. After realizing she needed change, she became a high school teacher. Teaching is rewarding, but writing is a passion. During all this time, she always wrote stories to entertain herself or calm down. Her parents are practical minded people demanding a job, and Victoria spent too many years living other people’s dreams, but when she sat down to see what skill she had that matched what she enjoyed doing, writing became so obvious. The middle school year book when someone wrote in it that one day she’d be a writer made sense when she turned thirty. Besides her full time job of teaching, in 2013 and 2014, she sold on her own sold books to three different publishers. The Zoastra Affair, Chaperoning Paris, Borrowing the Doctor, and Electing Love will be published from Soul mate Publishing. Mything the Throne will be published with Double Dragon Ebooks. Favorite Coffee, Favorite Crush will be published with Jupiter Press. Now she is represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency and she hopes to continue selling her novels that she writes. Moving up to the next level from hard work and determination is rewarding, and partnerships bring new opportunities. Also she’s the Vice President of Progams for the Florida Romance Writers. She’s gone to multiple conferences and intends to continue. She learns and meets so many people at conferences. Her website is here, www.victoriapinder.com, and she’ll continue to grow my web presence. She is working hard on other projects and found the time to plan her wedding this year. Before writing, her father had taken her to many star trek conventions and on her own she grew up as the only girl in the 90s at the comic book store. Science Fiction was her first love, but contemporary romance was her second. She’s sticking with contemporaries for the near future. Member of Florida Romance Writers, Contemporary Romance, Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal chapter of RWA, Celtic Hearts and Savvy Authors.
This is literally the worst book and series I have ever read. I consider myself something of a connoisseur of trashy romance novels. The trashier and smuttier the better. I can generally overlook thin plots, under-developed characters, poor writing, and sloppy editing. This time, however, it is all just too much to be ignored. I look at all the 4 and 5 star reviews and all I can conclude is that our educational system has completely failed us and that, in general, people are irredeemably stupid. Yes, I read all five books. In the end, it was less about being unwilling to stop in the middle and more about taking some perverse delight in hate-reading to the end.
The problems with this book and this series are legion, but I will start with the truly terrible editing job. Typos were rampant and distracting. Details from book to book were inconsistent. The timeline made no sense. Characters disappeared never to be seen or heard from again. There were too many story lines happening at once and the characters' reactions to events were not just unrealistic, but entirely inappropriate.
There were so many annoying devices employed by the author throughout the books. The worst being that all the men smelled like trees and all the women smelled like fruit. Over and over again, the man smelled like oak or cedar and, depending on the woman, apples, strawberries, peaches or vanilla. By the time I was done, I just wanted to bake a pie and be done with it. And the women were always hugging their own waists. I am still not sure how this actually works in real life.
The final insult of these books is that the sex wasn't even interesting.
I find it difficult to believe that this book series wasn't self-published. How the author was picked up by an actual, reputable publisher is beyond my comprehension.
At the end of the day, I would recommend that you not waste your time on this series. There are so many other trashy novels out there
Phrase "licked her/his lips" makes for good drinking game
Repetitive phrases abound in these books. In Book 1, Secret Crush, the phrase she "hugged her waist" appeared 11 times, but that's not the worst of it. The phrase she "licked her lips" was used 9 times, he only licked his twice. In Book 2, Secret Baby, she "licked her lips" 8 times and him not at all. Y'all getting the drift here? Okay, in Book 3, Secret Bet, she "licked her lips" THIRTY-SEVEN ( yes, 37) times. He only licked his 16 times! That's 53 times the phrase is used in one book of less than 250 pages. I would have/should have stopped reading but I just couldn't walk away from the train wreck. There is significantly more wrong with these books than overuse of these phrases. Read Andrea Vermeulen's review on Goodreads for more details. I wish I had.
Blurb: Secret Crush When FBI agent and Billionaire John Morgan returns home for his father’s funeral, he’s interested in Alice Collins. His interest in her gets her in trouble, and he’ll protect her no matter the cost.
Secret Baby Former Marine Colt Collins has raised his daughter alone, thinking the mother-of-his child was dead, but when Victoria Morgan returns to town to see her father’s funeral for herself, she never expected to see Colt or the daughter she thought that died was, in fact, very much alive.

Just couldn't do it. Only made it half way through the first book and was ready to throw it across the room because of constant repetitive "feelings". I hoped it was a first book for the author and tried not to be too critical, but then I read other reviews and realized I'm not alone. Now I understand why the whole series was free. Sorry...hate to do this to authors. It's not easy being a writer but a good editor helps.
Stories of three siblings, Peter, John and Vicki who have to overcome a legacy of deception left by their father and to find love and happiness. I received a free copy with no obligation.
All 5 star stories which are: entertaining, romantic, and steamy. They have happily ever after ending. They are a bit of tear-jerkers with wonderful characters.
Secret Crush (The House of Morgan Book 1) This story has a much different feel to me than the later ones. The danger to the Morgans and those around them is more central to the story. This story has aspects of an action story and fewer of the romance. All-in-all a great story.
I felt that this story had a bit of harrowing drama but, if you have the same reaction, keep going. My anxiety was relieved in only a few pages. Also, if I had read this story first, I my not have fallen in love with Belle as I did in later stories. Again, I recommend that you hold tight to your heart.
Secret Bet (The House of Morgan Book 3)
The story of two, Belle and Peter, who have closed themselves off from love. This is the Belle that I fell in love with in a later story. She is smart and sassy yet unsure of herself. For me, she is quite a delight. Plenty of tension both internal for the characters and external between them.
The story basics are really good. But the flow is a mess. Too many sentences are repeated throughout like fillers. Other lines don’t make any sense to what is going on. There’s no continuity to the characters’ locations. They can be having a conversation in a cafe then suddenly they are somewhere else with the very next word. One book has the characters having twins, then the next book there’s only one baby. The daughter of one couple doesn’t even exist in the third book. Please hire an editor! Can’t help but wonder if the unedited versions were accidentally sent to Amazon by mistake.
This series about the Morgan family is full of all kinds of twists and turns. This dysfunctional family is trying to reconnect after their egomaniacal father dies. Secrets abound and are revealed. Ultimately each of these stories end with a happily ever after, but the journeys were not easy. I know this review is rather vague, but it is better to read the stories to find out how everything plays out.
I loved this set of feel good stories. I love the way these 3 stories show that even if you don't start out in a happy family if you persevere you can over come and find your happy ending. Granted these individuals have more money than most which helps but the sentiment was there and I enjoyed it all the same.
This is a great beginning to the first 3 children of Mitch Morgan and how we h have had to find a way to find themselves after their fathers death. He was a tyrant and caused a lot of grief to his children, and others around them and to the air at large. Can't wait to find out mp.
I really enjoyed rereading the three opening books of this 12+ book series. The characters and the dialog were each unique and entertaining. After reading them together I was surprised though at the edits that were still needed. Also surprised that Alice's twins turned out to be one son with no explanation!
This series of books was good, I enjoyed the growth of the characters. It does need some heavy editing. There were a lot of misused and misspelled words. Would be five stars with that done.
Absolutely love this series i had never read any of Victoria's books but i am now hooked on the house of Morgan and am going to have to read them all, these books will not disappoint.
Compelling page turner with adventure, action, suspense and romance. Journey into a world where the filthy rich live in a tangle web of secrets, lies and mystery that unveils many hidden truths and everlasting love. An exciting adult romance
A Secret Crush opens the curtains on the saga of the House of Morgan, a dysfunction family at best. When the despicable Mitch Morgan dies, Alice attends the funeral in the hope of speaking to the heirs regarding her own family legacy and to save her family's orange orchard. She comes face to face with her old youthful crush and the sparks fly between her and John Morgan, her best friend's brother. There are secrets, lies and misunderstandings, added to which danger encroaches and their relationship put to the test. As Alice discovers more about the Morgan heirs, she realises that she has to adjust her perspective regarding them. An enjoyable romance with an element of danger. Having read a number of the other books in this series, I was glad to be able to see where it all began.
In a Secret Baby, it's just as well Mitch Morgan is already dead. He has done so much damage to so many people, including his own family, that a death by natural causes was much too kind to him. Victoria is one of his victims, and when she finds that the child she believed dead is actually alive, it takes all her resourcefulness to gain access to her daughter. Colt is one of the few people who stood up to Mitch Morgan, but he too paid a heavy price. Victoria and Colt have so much controversy and so many lies to work through, that it is a wonder that they can even be in the same room at the same time, let alone allow themselves to consider their daughter's happiness. This story was heart-breaking, however truth prevails and brings healing in its wake. I experienced so many emotions while reading this book, and was glad that bit by bit the Morgan heirs and their loved ones could see beyond the evil mastermind and realise that sins of the father could be rectified by the children.
At the urging of her fellow marines, Belle Jordan attends the wedding of her ex-fiancé, who is marrying the love of his life, whom he had thought dead thereby jilting Belle. Belle’s heart has turned to stone and in an emotionless state she arrives at the wedding, where a Secret Bet has just been placed with the bride’s oldest brother, billionaire Peter Morgan, who is convinced every woman is a gold-digger. Peter’s heart is every bit as stony as Belle’s, however as introductions are made, there are immediate sparks of attraction. Peter’s immediate concern is that Belle does not disrupt the wedding, but as he spends time with the retired marine, he finds that she is not attracted to his money. The question is however, what is her price? After all, everyone wants something from him! The main story of Secret Bet takes place over only a few days, but so much action is packed in that time with so many surprises, that it is a wonder that Peter doesn’t implode. The story line in general is well thought out with numerous surprises. This was an enjoyable romance that left you with a smile on your face and anticipation of future books in the Morgan series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my voluntary and honest review.
In and with "The House of Morgan" nobody would like to grow up or live, however, Peter, John and Vicky had to do it. They suffered from their tyrannical, ice-cold and power-crazed father and were left by their mother as they were still quite young.
Secret Crush John joins the FBI to bring his father to case and be able to arrest him. Unfortunately, his father's sudden, natural death foils him. But, at least, he thereby meets Alice again.
Secret Baby Colt thinks the mother of his little daughter is dead. Vicky was told by her father that her newborn babygirl is dead and she believes him.
Secret Bet Peter thinks everything and anyone in the world has his price, if it's only high enough. However, Belle will teach him better.
These stories are well written, full of intrigues, lies, shocking and suspenseful twists and turns, second chances to find real love. You'll take the well-developed and engaging characters direct into your hearts. Every single story is unique and you'll love them. Victoria Pinder has really performed very good work.
Because of the misspellings, mistaken names and possessive pronouns I drawed mentally off one star. But that's the work of the editors, so there are still 5 stars.
So go ahead, grab the Box Set, grab a cup of coffee (maybe more) and enjoy your reading as much as I did.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I just finished this book and it was very good. It has interesting characters and Victoria describes them very well. You get to know their strengths & weakness. This is three books but, they all stand alone but, have the same characters & Family & friends. A farmers daughter runs into John Morgan who was the star football player at her high school and is now an FBI man. There is quite a bit of chemistry and leads to the fantasy Vicki has always had since high school. Lots of twists and turns! I would definitely recommend this book be put on your to be read shelf. I was give the Advanced Readers Copy to read and give an honest review!
This is a collection of the three first stories from the House of Morgan Series. 1 Secret Crush: This is the story of John and Alice. 2 Secret Baby: This is the story of Victoria and Colt, Alice’s brother. 3 Secret Bet: This is the story of Peter and Belle. The Three stories are really nice, being my favourite Secret Baby. All the Morgan siblings have suffered a lot in the hands of their hateful father. However, I think Virginia was the one who suffered most, not only because she was betrayed and lied by her father but also because of the loss of her baby girl. The three stories are full of mysteries, twists, and turns which make the books very enjoyable. I highly recommend them. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this book.
An amazing set of books that was fun to read and definitely kept my interest until the end A bit of romance and more to make them exciting. Loved reviewing
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This series just moved a bit slow for me...& couldn't really get into it. But enjoy some of the others other books...just not this series...sorry
Romance, with just a touch od suspense, another great read from author Victoria Pinder! I'm hooked on The House of Morgan storyline, I'll be reading more by Victoria Pinder.
This book was excellent from beginning to end. All three parts were very well written. I especially enjoyed the ending I look forward to reading more from Victoria Pincer.
