Edgy Cities

Rate this book
'You need not attach great importance to the rioting in Liverpool last night. It took place in an area where disorder is a chronic feature.'
Winston Churchill 1911

Port cities are different. The bigger the port the bigger the difference. Being located on the edge of the Nation State, they have always been arenas of dissenting cultural expression.
These stories are based upon Time, Memory and Movement and aim to explore the rhythmic pulse from Liverpool to its southernmost European and wider Atlantic horizons.

Here's what Margi Clarke said about the print
Regarding Liverpool Margi says, 'Everything starts with the river - which is the lifeforce and heartbeat of the city, pumping energy that comes from the banks at Birkenhead over to Liverpool itself. We shouldn't ask What time is it but what tide is it? That's a line from a great book called Edgy Cities by Steve Higginson and Tony Wailey which I'd recommend to anyone.
